In my original post on the Leper, my primary concern was not knowing God’s will.
The Church today, believes God can, as did the Leper, but we still do not believe His will.
Many other things went on in these Scriptures. Jesus had just preached the Sermon on the Mount.
Great multitudes followed Him. The Leper came and Worshiped Him.
We call our Sunday Morning Service a Worship Service. Is it?
Homage rendered to God which it is sinful (idolatry) to render to any created being (Ex. 34:14; Isa. 2:8). Such worship was refused by Peter (Acts 10:25,26) and by an angel (Rev. 22:8,9). Eastons Bible Dictionary
Worship, is a realization of who God is; Our Creator, Saviour, Teacher, Helper, the source of our Power.
We need to stop, acknowledge the Lord, recognize Him as our all in all. Sing Him love songs, Scripture songs, bow our heads, lift up our hands, ask Him into our lives.
Be still, and know, that He is God.
If you looked up Worship, in Strongs Concordance, you would find, one of the meanings is to fall down, to fall to your knees.
This is how the Leper approached Jesus. Knowing Jesus could heal, knowing not, that He would.
Yet, he Worshiped.
Jesus said, He would, He touched him…. He healed him, immediately….
We are Saved immediately, when we repent and ask. We receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, immediately, when we ask.
We need to learn to walk in Salvation, and also how to pray in the Spirit.
He heals us immediately, He never ran a hospital, and neither should we.
He was told to be quiet and go to the Priest, for ritual cleansing.
He was too excited, spilled the beans, Jesus, then had to go into hiding.
Matthew 8:1-4 (KJV)
“When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.”
Mark 1:40-45 (KJV)
“And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.”
Luke 5:12-14 (KJV)
“And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.“
I have spent most of my Christian life, with Full Gospel Saints.
The joy, peace and love of the Lord was so easy to see in their lives. I could go to any Full Gospel place of Worship, and enjoy the presence of God.
Churches and their Saints who are not Baptized in the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in Tongues.
Worship, in some Churches, come close to bringing down the Spirit. The Love of Christ is evident.
The peace and joy are foreign entities, though. They do not recognize that the absence of the Spirit.
Spiritual things are not understood, without the Spirit’s presence.
They are not taught the Scriptures concerning the Spirit, because they DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE SPIRIT.
I went to a big Baptist convention, about 5,000 in attendance. We heard good messages on Repentance, Regeneration, Salvation, Sanctification, ect…
Then the last speaker,…
I believe he blasphemed the Holy Spirit, he ridiculed speaking in Tongues, there by denying the Power of God.
I will point out this man was paralyzed from the neck down. I fear this doesn’t give him license.
Most Non-denominational Churches, admit the Holy Spirit is real, yet, there is no evidence of his presence.
They can not teach something they know nothing of.
What Surprised me is they DO NOT WANT TO KNOW, SO THEY NEVER WILL.
That is why the Church does not grow. It is dying because the know not the Scriptures and deny the power of God.
When I was saved, I wanted all God had for me. Why don’t they?
That is My Surprise…
This story starts with a phone call, several months ago.
Bette’s sister Eunice’s, two adult sons, (Carl and Andrew), wanted to know if we could stand some company this summer.
We in NC, were closer to the path of totality, then they were in Minnesota.
They thought they could kill two birds, with one stone. (A visit and the once in a lifetime experience).
Wonderful, come on down. Then their parents, Eunice and Roger would come with them. Now you’re talking…. We could not wait to see them
Two weeks ago, we heard they were going to watch the Eclipse in Nebraska, then come to NC. Still wonderful, can not wait.
Then I found out my sweet wife Bette, bought 8 pair solar glasses. She told me, the path of totality was only 150 miles south of us.
She wanted to see it.
We talked it over, I convinced her that a 6 to 12 hour drive in the car, (we would have to leave home at six am), for two minutes of viewing, was just silly.
I was sure she saw and agreed with me. Case settled.
8/21/17, woke at 7:30, saw my wifes face.
“Would you like to try to catch it?”
The sun shown, from her eyes. We left at 8:30, sure we were going to miss it.
We saw it, the diamond burst was at 2 o’clock though.
We didn’t get any pictures except this selfie as light was coming back.
The joy in her face was worth the twelve plus hours in the car, for two minutes of darkness.
Ten Lepers cry out to be healed. This set of miracles is only found in Luke.
Jesus once again going where the people needed His touch. He entered a certain village. Ten Lepers, met Him, standing afar off.
They lifted their voices, crying out for Mercy.
Jesus heard and saw:
Would He have seen them, if they had not called out? We will know the answer, if and when we meet and ask Him, in the flesh, (our Resurrected Bodies).
The point we must take home is, they cried out, that they were Lepers was apparent to those who saw them. (Special clothing, missing flesh), they had to cry out unclean, if in a populated area.
He gave them directions, go, show yourselves to the Priest. The Priest had the power to declare them clean, to accept any thanksgiving sacrifices, to pray with them.
As they went:
As they went, they were cleansed. When the Lord speaks, we must be ready and willing to do His bidding.
In the Old Testament a Leper, (a Noble from another country), was told to go wash in the Jorden River seven times.
In this instance, one noticed he had been cleansed, as they traveled. He turned back, fell at the feet of Jesus and Glorified God in a loud voice.
This man wasn’t a Hebrew, he wasn’t of the people of God, yet he was healed and came back to thank and gave the Glory to God.
Where are the nine?
We see Jesus seeing, hearing, healing…. How often do we see thanks given, people stopping their activities, to turn to and thank God?
I am sure, Jesus often wonders, where we are, after He does us a service. Small or great, do we recognize His hand in our daily lives?
Do we stop, and thank Him? I know, for me, it’s not often enough, I tend to marginalize, the daily, touch of the Master.
Always, looking for the signs, wonders and miracles. Not recognizing His hand in my life.
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”
Go thy way, your faith has made you whole.
Continue on with your life. Now complete, whole, healed. That is the will of God, for all of us.
Try to remember, to stop n and Thank Him. He notices. Amen
Wonderful wake-up call. We all come from different places.
