Desires

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:”  (Psalm 10:17)

Our Desires.  What are your desires?  They can be many and varied.

Many of us think first, of carnal worldly things.  Cars, homes, food, physical and financial health.  A special Companion to love, and to peacefully exist.

All these things are fine, but should they be at the top of our list?

Are you thinking short or long term?  So far my goals and thinking in life have been centered on today.  Earning a living, meeting today’s needs.

Which, by the way, was one of the Lord’s commands when they entered the promised land, and also taught, in the Lord’s prayer. (Exodus 16:4; Matthew 6:34)

I guess I didn’t think that I would grow old, like the rest of humanity.

No plans for retirement, no insurance, no savings, 401k, or any other safety net.

That has brought me here.  Old and not able to continue working.  Yet,  I am at peace.

Out of work, broke, hurting, filled with the knowledge that my only hope is God.

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus and His Righteousness!

Have I been an obedient servant or a fool?  I wish it was a servant, but the first half of my life I wasn’t concerned with the things of God.

This second half has been very different.  I accepted Jesus as both Lord and Savior.  Many Want the savior, it is harder to let Him be Lord.

It is amazing, how with our eyes on Him our desires change.  The Worlds riches are not as attractive.

I have learned, we MUST STAND FAST ON HIS WORD! It is the Word that conveys the Power and Grace of God.

God spoke the world into existence and told us to Believe and Confess. Speaking, confessing is important for our Salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)

So our Desires should be changed as we walk with the Lord.

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

God Bless you, come back again. Please leave a comment.

Do we “BELIEVE”?  theunfetteredpreacher

Genesis 15:6

And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”

The first time “Believe” in the Bible.  Abram, who walked with and sacrificed to the Lord many years, desired a son, was childless, until.

“The Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”

Abram asked who shall be my heir?  The answer, Saria will have a son.

And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”

Believe, the imposible.  That is what Abram did.  He knew the Lord, and believed His word.

He had a son at 99.years old, his wife at 90.

Jesus told many:  “Fear not, only believe.”   They saw the dead raised, the sick healed, the blind to see, the lame to walk.

Do we “BELIEVE?”    I don’t think so, if we did Jesus said:  “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

The only conditions “BELIEVE,” and, “ If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbour as yourself.

Since we do not, do the things Jesus did and more, our error lies in one of these two areas.

Belief and or love”  What say you?  What do we do?   What can we do?

For years I have thought if I could only conquer the sin that so easily besets me, … and “only then,” would I be a useable vessel of Gods power and love.

WRONG!!!

“Belief and love”

Lord, help my unbelief….  Help me to love…  Amen

Is Exceptionalism for Christians?  theunfetteredpreacher

Christian Exceptionalism.  What is that?

We have all heard our President say, Americans are no more exceptional than the Germans, French, or anyone else, that there never was anything, called Amercan Exceptionalism.

He claims, everyone, every country, thinks they are exceptional.  He is mistaken.

This country was  exceptional, for 200 of our 240 year existence.

Science, math, the military, the space program, in education, in manufacturing, in every area of life, we were on top.

What happened?

We allowed God to be moved from center stage in our lives, schools, government, and entertainment,

Instead of the majority of movies, music, TV and even church, being family friendly, we began incouraging specialized entertainment.

Childrens, young adults, teens, young married, married, retired…

We all watch seperate shows, listen to seperate music, even have seperate church services….

Next thing you know,   there is no unity of thought, action or expectations.

We started a backward slide.  We are no longer number 1…

What is worse,    WE DON’T CARE.

It would be good, to make America great again.

This is not about politics…  I want to talk about CHRISTIAN EXCEPTIONALISM.

The first century Christians were exceptional, why?

Some say it was because they actually knew Jesus, or someone who had seen, heard, or touched the Lord.

They love the Apostle Paul, they accept, that he healed the sick, raised the dead, had signs and wonders following.

They forget he never knew the man Jesus before, He was resurrected.

He met, knew, relied on, trusted in, and obeyed the same Lord as we do.

How was it that  Paul, who had never seen, heard or touched the man Jesus, was able to do, that which Jesus promised?

He was zealous in serving God.  First as a Jew, persecuting Christians, then more so, after he met the King.

Are we zealous?  I won’t speak for you, but for me, not nearly as zealous as I should be.

Oh, I pray… but not always effectual, fervent prayers, sometimes, weak, self serving, powerless, pointless, profitless prayers.

Oh, I study… but only to find a way to get the Lord to agree with me.  After all, if He would do things my way…  (His work would be done.   lol, what a fool I am).

Oh, I evangelize…  but not always where or to who He directs.

We seperate our children from adult church, after all we don’t want to bore them.

Isn’t it funny, whole families came to hear Jesus, stayed to listen for three days, had no food, but were not bored.

They were fed by the power and word of God.  We need to learn how to preach and teach Gods word in His power, not our own.

We need to become, EXCEPTIONAL CHRISTIANS.

We need to believe He is, and that He is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him.  We need to become zealous in our faith.

To Know the Word, Live the Word, Pray the Word.

Expect signs and wonders.  He promised they would follow those who believe.

Do we believe?  The Lord could make, even this boat float.  How much more could he do with us?

Fear not, ONLY BELIEVE…   Amen

Do we know who we are? 1  theunfetteredpreacher

We have been studying the Old Testament, for quite a while on Wednesday nights.

I thought for a change we could look up who and what we are in and or through Christ.

Please comment, let me know what you think.

Tales from my Father 7:  theunfetteredpreacher

Photos compliments of Janice Packard Roy and, “You know your from Ashburnham if…”

My Dads state of the art advertising…  Thanks Janice.

I thought and he probably thought also, his name and business would live long after he was gone.

It hasn’t,  I visit the web site, and realize, his years of hard work, and not his alone, are gone, there are only a few, if any, that have a lasting legacy.

Well, a few memories:

The brim of Dads baseball cap, would move around to the side, when he got frustrated, during the day.   Watch out, he was about to explode.

He would give directions, by telling you to take a left at St. Denise, or at the Methodist, or Community Church… those were his land marks.

My brother-in-law Ken, would tell him to use bars if he wanted him to find the mark.

He was an acomplished carpenter, his Dad a cabinet maker.  He did his own electric wiring, loved his printing press and could not sit still.

He was quite the handyman…  he could fix most anything.

After his heart attack, and move to Fla. he only wanted to use his printing press and play golf as he was able.

Do not ask him car questions, or how to fix something, he seemed to lose any desire to even think about that stuff.

It is sad to think that I am what is left.  No talent for repairing much besides pianos.

No interest in cars, wood working, electrical, any of the things he was good at.

Truly a black sheep, music, the sharing of the Gospel, reading, movies…  those are my interests.

Am I my Fathers son, is my daughter.my legacy?

We are like a wind that passes away, and never comes back again.

May the sign of my passing be changed lives for the Lord.   Amen

Prayer Requested – UPDATE

This is my sister Martha, while visiting our home town in MA.  I have just heard she is in the hospital with a stroke.

Please lift her up, for a full recovery.  Will update as needed.

Thanks,

Thank you so much for your prayers and support, Martha, met her maker a little after noon today.

A Simple Biblical Truth, Revisited: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

A Simple Truth:
Believe and Confess/Confess and Believe.  They go together like a horse and carriage, or  love and marriage.

Which comes first?

image

Today it is anyones guess,…  but historically;  The horse pulled the carriage,  Love led to marriage and believing leads to confession.

As Christians, belief and confession is the only, acceptable road to Salvation.  I know of no other path to the Father except through the Son.

Taking this as truth, we should live this:

Mark 16:
these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”  Jesus to believers.

Why do we see so few signs:
(: something (such as an action or event) which shows that something else exists, is true, or will happen).  Websters definition.

We see very few wonders:
(: a feeling caused by seeing something that is very surprising, beautiful, amazing, etc.
: something that is surprising or hard to believe).  Webster again.

“SHALL FOLLOW”  Do they?  IF SO;  THEY ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN.

For well over 35 years, I have been telling myself, these things are not happening because:
➤  “I cannot be trusted”:
1.  To give Him the Glory.
           2.  To remain faithful and true.
           3.  To humble myself to His will.

➤  “I am not Spititual enough to be used”:
I am not walking in the light, life and in the power of His Yoke.  I am not at rest in Him.  I am not in tune with His will.

This all may be true, for me, but, what is your excuse?

IT IS ALL NONSENCE:

Jesus, did not give any conditions, or experation dates… THE ONLY CONDITION… IS BELIEVE.

As we must confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, to be Saved, we must confess His will and Word to see results.

Signs and Wonders, should be and must be the natural result of our belief.  If we do not see them we have a problem with our belief.

The problem is if?  If it is Your will?  Really, did you not understant what He said?

THESE SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW”.
Who?
THOSE THAT BELIEVE”.

That should be you and me.

We will see signs and wonders following, when we learn the simple truth.  Believe and Confess.

Yes, that simple..  “Be healed in the Name of Jesus.”  Be thou removed in the Name of Jesus.”

It is the Name of Jesus, that holds the power of resurection, healing, deliverance, recovery of sight, hearing, a sound mind.

We confess Salvation, because we believe.

We need to confess and believe to see…

Does it make sense?  Not really, then again Salvation is a fact, and, still a mystery.

Start to stand on Gods Word, Believe Gods Word, ACT ON GODS WORD.

Saints, the Devil is in our (unspoken), Doctrine.  Speak, Believe and See the Salvation of God.

What is lacking in your faith? The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Jesus asked them:  “Where is your faith?”  He could certainly ask us all, the same question today.

Faith, we are all given a measure, the measure that allows us to see and accept, Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Unfortunately, many refuse to act on this Faith.  They prefer to trust in themselves, someone else or the government.

They do not realize they are rejecting the good and perfect gift of God.

“God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights,”

Since we are only given a measure of Faith, (the Faith to believe), it is up to us to nurture and grow our Faith,

How?   By the renewing of our mind,  (reading, meditating, praying and knowing His Word), that we could prove, what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

That we would come into:
the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,”

That we:
might perfect that which is lacking in our faith?”
“For by grace are we saved through faith;

that which is lacking in our faith?”  What?

Paul was so concerned, for what the Thessalonians lacked, that He spent:
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?”
1 Thessalonians 3:10

image

Which brings us to today:

Although my Faith, sometimes wavers, (lacks), I believe I was brought by God, to this little UMC, to teach them, and lead them, into all that God has to offer.

The Pastor, always listens, says he is glad for me,  BUT “God didn’t give him that gift.  He doesn’t need that gift.  That gift only brings confusion.”

He refuses to accept that the gift of Tongues could be his own;  and in so doing, tells his congragation, they don’t need it.

~  He is maybe afraid that he would not be able to control the gift of tongues if he had it.
~  He cannot seem to seperate the prayer language from public tongues and interpretation.
~  He believes God would have forced it upon him if he needed it.  (He had to ask for Salvation, but thinks the Baptism of the Spirit is not a separate Spiritual Blessing).

I have told him  the scriptures, but he refuses to allow Gods truth, to bless him.

I will list some scripture here, in the hopes the Lord would open eyes.

~  First Question:  Who should receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirt? (The Gift of Tongues, included).

Mark 16:17
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Some will argue, that verse  is not in the original text it was added later.  (OK,  then:)

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”  2 Timothy 3:16

Alright, you reject that scripture, how about these other witnesses?

Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The one hundred and twenty believers, in one accord, in one place.  “all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,”

We have other witnesses:

Acts 19:6
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”

Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?  No?  Here, by gosh, they spoke in tongues.  (This is evidence, you can see and hear).

Acts 10:45-47
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.”

they heard them speak with tongues”  Those who believe, is that you?

For the Lords sake, ask him to give the gift to you.  Like with pSalvation, you know not the Spiritual Blessings until you allow the Lord to work His will in your life.  (check out Deuteronomy 29:29),  this is for us all to do His work).

~  Prayer language (No Interpretation) Confusion:
Do we understand what we pray, when we pray in Tongues?   Are we hampered in our Faith or helped?

Selected verses from Romans 8:
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.   The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

“And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

We love that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Why are we afraid to allow the Spirit to pray the will of God in our lives, we claim that is what we desire.

Selected verses from 1 Corintians 12, 14:
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.”

“covet earnestly the best gifts:”

“he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”

“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; “

I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.”  (Notice switch from private prayer to public,  keep the difference in mind while reading this chapter).

Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.”  (Public tongues uplifts the church, only with interpretation).

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” (In public must have interpretation, in speech and song to bless the church).

Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?”

For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.  I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:   Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.”

We speak to God well, but others do not understand, so in public we need to interpret.

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.”

Please recognize the difference between a private prayer language and public tongues and interpretation.

If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.”

If no Interpretation then:  “keep silence in the church and let him speak to himself, and to God.”   Private prayer.

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.”

You do not have to speak in tongues, like salvation it is a gift, we must receive it and take it off the shelf and exercise it.

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.   Let all things be done decently and in order.

To my mind too many want to remain ignorant.

My question to you is:  Do you long to be strong in the Lord, to have the wisdom, power and grace to do his will?

Then accept, open and experience all the gifts He has given.  They are the Talents the Master has left His servants, He did not leave us a talent of speaking, playing an instument or singing.

NO, He left us His Holy Spirit, to teach, guide and comfort.  Yet we refuse His Gifts.  We apparently truly think He is the author of confussion.  “If any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.”

Do you accept the Word of God, or the Doctrine of your church?

Matthew 7:26
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

Ask the Lord for His truth.   Amen.

But First: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Luke 17:25
But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.”

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Have you ever looked at these two verses together?

image

Jesus, must first suffer many things and be rejected.   He did all that and more.

What are we told to do first?  To suffer?  Be rejected?    These things will happen.   At the rate our country is falling away from God it will probably be sooner rather then later.

But seek ye first

Is how we will make it through any trials and tribulations we will encounter.  As a matter of fact He promises we will be persecuted for His Names sake.

So, I sincerely suggest we learn to:
seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;

How do we seek “the kingdom of God“?

He told us it is at hand, today, right here on earth, within us, without us, available to whosoever will.

We must turn our face towards God, learn of Him, Walk with Him, hunger and thirst for His Righteousness.  Desire Him, more than the air we breath.

Request all He has for us.  Learn from and obey His Holy Spirit…Jesus healed all that were afflicted.   He has sent us to do the same.

His book is filled with promises.  They are ours today, if we will learn to touch the hem of His garment.  Take up His Yoke.  Learn to walk in the light.

I know I am a skipping record, playing the same song… So Be It.

I do not care…  I long to be closer.  I long to be used.  I long to see souls saved, the sick healed, the dead raised.

image

Jesus promised we would.  I am seeking this God, the God of Power, Might, Mercy and Love.

The Lord and Savior I love.  Help me Lord.
Amen

As David Walked: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

We can learn much about God by noting how different people interacted or walked with Him.  (With, in His ways, before)?

Confused?
~  Enoch:  Walked with God, and received this testimony:  “that he pleased God.”  He knew God “IS“, (“is” alive, available and accessible today, now, in our  time of need), and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  (He is alive, with Jesus in heaven today).
~  Noah:  Walked with God, (Jesus), found grace in the sight of the Father, (the Lord), and became the heir of righteousness.  Saved with His family through the flood.

image

~  Abram: The Father said:  “Walk before me and be ye perfect.”  He belived in the Father, (the Lord), and it was counted as righteousness.  A friend of God. (Jesus)
~  Moses:  “charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”  A friend of God.  (Jesus)
~  David:  “if thou wilt walk before me, (the Lord), as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:  Then I will establish

David, Abraham, Moses, were all Warriors, who walked before or in the ways of the Lord, (the Father).  They heard:  “This is the way, walk ye in it.

Enoch and Noah, were preachers of righteousness and Walked With God, (Jesus).

They took up the Yoke of Jesus, walked in harmony with Him, by His side, doing His will, His way.

There is someone else who walked yet differently from all others:

~  Levi:
Malachi 2
And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts.

My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

Levi Walked with the Lord, (the Father).  In reverence, peace and honesty.  He knew and taught the Law of the Lord.  He honoured the Lord.  His testimony turned many from sin and death.

He was not a warrior as such, but had killed to avenge the honour of his sister.  The tribe of Levi, became the priests of the Old Testament.  The protectors of the Word and teachers of the Will of God.

The Christians of the New Testament are the Levites and Priests of the Lord today.  Our job is to keep pure, and protect Gods word, and lead our fellow men to His Mercy and Grace.

How is your walk?  Do you walk in His ways?
Are you walking before, receiving His direction?

Or have you taken up His Yoke?  Are you walking in harmony with Him?  Are you seeing His will being accomplished?

Are those things He has revealed to us, active in our lives?   Do we see or recognize His Mercy, Grace, healing powers, signs and wonders?

image

We should be.  That was His promise.

Jesus, may we walk with You.  Amen

Come out of the holy place: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

They “Came out of the Holy Place,”  then the Glory and the presence of the Lord was experienced.

1 Kings 8:10-11
King James Version (KJV)
And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,  So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.

If we aren’t experiencing the Lords presence it is because we have not faithfully, routinely, prayer fully experienced the Holy Place.

Unfortunately, most of us will never find it, or learn  to enter.

At the time of 1 Kings, the priests could not enter the Holy Place, (the exception, to bring the alter into the newly built Temple), but the High Priest alone, and only once a year could enter into the Holy of Holies.

Not so today:
Hebrews 9
King James Version (KJV)
“The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:”

Hebrews 4:15-16
King James Version (KJV)
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

The throne of grace – The Holy of Holies.  Not just for the High Priest, once a year…We can enter today, we can find grace, obtain mercy, experience the presence of God.

What is the Holy Place?

The Secret Place of the Most High:
Psalm 91:1-2
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.   I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Under the Shadow of His wings:
Psalm 17:8
King James Version (KJV)
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,”
Psalm 36:7
King James Version (KJV)
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.”
Psalm 57:1
Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.”
Psalm 63:7
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.”

Waiting on the Lord:
Isaiah 40:31
King James Version (KJV)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

By Prayer and Fasting:
Psalm 35:13
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.”
Daniel 9:3
And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:”
Matthew 17:21
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
Luke 2:37
And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.”
1 Corinthians 7:5
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.”

Most of us love the Lord, but life and love for others prevent us from giving our all, and receiving Gods best for our lives.

To dwell with Jesus, simply means to Take His Yoke upon us, and walk with Him.

Will you seek Him and His Secret Place?

They all fall down: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Several months ago, a Baptist friend asked me, why do all these people fall down on TV, when the “Faith Healers” pray for them?

He insisted that it didn’t happen in the Bible.

Matthew 2:11
fell down, and worshipped him:
Mark 5:33
fell down before him,
Mark 3:11
fell down before him,
Luke 5:8
he fell down at Jesus’ knees,
Luke 8:28
fell down before him,
Luke 8:41
fell down at Jesus’ feet,
John 11:32
she fell down at his feet,
Luke 17:16
fell down on his face at his feet,
Revelation 5:14
the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped
Revelation 22:8
I fell down to worship

Now, if I had given my friend these scripure verses, he would reply:

Yes, but they were all in the presence of Jesus.”

I would say:  “My point exactly.”

(“Faith Healers” are Holy Spirit Dispensers).

These “Faith Healers” have paid the price to work in His Power and Presence.  We need to long to be in the presence of Jesus.  We need to learn to Worship, Work and Walk in His Power.

If you look up the word “worship”, in the Strongs Concordance, you might be surprised, to find, it means, to fall down, or bow down in reverence.

Are our Sunday Services really Worship Services?

We hear the Word, sing a few Hymns, but very rarely experience the full blown presence of Jesus.  (Multitudes found Him, can we?)

I know, in your church there is always a noticeable presence of God.

(Good, you need read no more).

I wonder, seriously, have the rest of us, really experienced the presence of the Great “I AM“, since our salvation experience?

He is the Great “I AM.”  From the first mention of His Name, people fell down to Worship.

Genesis 17:1-3
King James Version (KJV)
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,”

He fell on his face, his name was changed, he was circumcised.  He had met Jesus.

We recieved a new name, in heaven, a circumcision of our hearts, and most probably fell down and worshiped at meeting “The Great I AM, JESUS.”

Moses, had to take off his shoes, as he was on Holy Ground:  (Exodus 3)
“And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.”

Jesus, when arrested, answered “I AM” and they fell down before Him.

In the time of the dedication of Solomons Temple, God made His presence known.

1 Kings: 8. 10,11
And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,  So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.”

To me this is what we should be aiming for, to experience the presence, power and the glory of the Lord.

How do we coax Gods Power, His healing, His miraculous signs and wonders, His Glory into our midst?

It isn’t easy.

We look at the Giants of the Faith as being above us in a place and time, impossible for us to attain.

In reality, they are a road map, written so that whosoever will, can find that place of Faith.

In that one verse from 1 Kings we see a

key.  Can we learn to use it?  Do you see what it is?

Lord, help us to seek and find Your face.  That we might truly know You and the Power of Your Resurrection.

That we be made into Your image.  Worthy to be trusted and used by Your Spirit.  That signs and wonders will follow.   Amen

NC’s HB2 or The Bathroom Bill: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

I had posted on FB, a post supporting protecting our children in public bathrooms from sexual predators.

A cousin responded with this:
~”This is horrible propaganda
me:
~“really? ? ?”
A Christian friend replied:
I completely agree with this photo!!”

An other relative responded:
~”Can understand why some feel this way, but a man who dresses as a woman is not automatically a danger to children.  In fact, many are fathers themselves. What a lot of people don’t know is many cross dressers are heterosexual. But even if they are not, chances are they are not a danger. (Most pedophiles seem to be hetero anyways. But being a cross dresser doesn’t make them one.)

My cousin sent a post with a video from this Gov. and asked me to watch it.

~”In response to a wave of anti-transgender legislation in several states around the country, Delaware Gov. Jack Markell stands up for transgender equality and combats the misinformation and scare tactics being utilized by proponents of these discriminatory bills. Gov. Markell is the only sitting governor to have signed both sexual orientation and gender identity protections in employment, housing, and public accommodations.

Thanks to the office of Gov. Markell, Equality Delaware, and the Center for American Progress.

I could not include video, I am sure you could find it on a FB.  I replied to my cousin:

~”Cousin,
I love you, but boy parts belong in the boys room.  Bruce Jenner is not brave, a hero, or a women, he is just a confused man, hiding from reality.

Elizabeth Warren is not an indian, the  white girl who claimed to be black was not and never will be black.  These people have rejected who they are  and we do them no favors by allowing their delusions.

What you think of as progress, will lead to no good.

Again, I love you.

What is happening to our country, will destroy us if it continues.

This brought on these replies:  My replies will be in bold.  Others are different people.

~”Shame Bill, I see you are unfettered by education or wisdom. Hope you get that sorted.

~”The LGBT unnecessary hostility about my desire to avoid having a man in my daughters shower room is what scares me.”

~”It’s not LGBT hostility. People of all sexuality, races, religion, and gender disagree with this bathroom issue.

People are tired of hate and being put down for differences. Throughout history decency always wins eventually. This will be resolved one day. No soul should have to deal with that.

Have you had to deal with hate in your life Bill? I have to question if you truly have. If you did I like to think you’d understand how it feels. You’d be more sympathetic to those that endure it on a daily basis.

I’m a  cis woman (Born female). I am a woman. I cannot imagine being born into the wrong body. That’s hard enough of a thought without adding hateful and close minded attitudes into the mix. Fearing for ones life due to being different.

What is happening to the country will eventually unite it. When people start looking through other eyes and not only through their reality and limited knowledge.

~”Thank you for the reasoned reply.  “I cannot imagine being born into the wrong body.”   Is where we part ways.

As a Christian, I believe we all are fearfully and wonderfully made.  Before we were formed in the womb He knew us.

We were made as He planned,  man and woman.

Am I closed minded, probably, do I care whether you are LGBTG, or any other initial, color or creed?  Nope.  Do I hate any of the above?  No I do not.

I wish all would know the peace and joy of salvation.  I know most will not, this is a  sad reality.

So, do what you like, just don’t scare the horses.

In other words, do not force others to accept and rejoice your beliefs anymore then you want to accept mine.

Thanks.”

~”Your unnecessary concern over other people’s genitals, and insistence on pushing your bigotry and religious delusion on the rest of us is what is destroying our country.”

~”Bill, what a beautiful responce! As a Delaware resident, and an Agnostic, I am always gladdened to hear reasonable discussion about religious beliefs. It fills me with joy when my religious friends wish me a blessed day, because the very best in them, is wishing the very best in me, joy.
You should never be forced to be apart of another’s belief system, but neither should you force your own beliefs tenets on another.
We the people are all so very different. I would not want it any other way. Can’t we just all treat each other as equals, and let life sort itself ot from there? Equality sometimes means standing next to someone from another culture at the lunch counter who is very different from you.
I don’t believe that we should afford that person any less of an opportunity because they are different. We all just need to be better neighbors, and look out for one another. Worry less about a person’s personal life choices or expressions of self, and focus more on building relationships with those in your community, whether you approve of them or not.

~”Bill Theunfetteredpreacher Cote what about all those lesbians in your girls bathroom? Why can’t men just keep their paws to themselves?...”

~”lesbians are often angry, but no threat to young women… now women school teachers and young men… trouble…  lol

So you see, lots of opinions.  Tell me your thoughts.

Confused(?): The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

I am just a simple guy, I don’t know nothin- bout-nothin… but it apears to me, that some kind of evergreen tree is growing inside this hardwood tree.

Interesting.  How could this be?

Using my usual hunt and peck system in my search engines, I found nothing.

My dear wife suggested, the insides of the hardwood, might be rotting, thus giving fertile ground for the evergreen.

I do not know, how or why but,  something foreign is springing forth from a willing host.

image

(Maybe inside, it looks like this?)

Whatever the cause, it is unnatual, unusual and unhealthy.

I look at it and cannot help thinking of the foolishness that is going on in my country.

People are confussed, men think they are women and long to use the womans restrooms and showers.

Our government has legalized and legitimized sin.

Now people who object to this sin, are being fined for not accepting and celebrating this new world view.

It isn’t infectious, but it is insidious, It is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

It is not from God.

It is the absence of God in our homes, our entertainment and education.  We are reaping what we have sown.

image

Lord, please lead us to Repentance.  Forgive us our sin.  Cleanse our unrighteousness.
Lord, Save us Please.   Amen

This one thing:… (Really?) The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

You would think that one thing, would be one thing.  Not so, there are several, one things, that the Lord desires we understand, know, and need to do and even some we lack.

~  “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,”  (2 Peter 3:8)
Here Peter is giving us a Spiritual Truth:  “Gods ways are not our ways”, His Timeline, Mercy and Grace, His Love is beyond our understanding.
Deuteronomy 29:29a
The secret things belong unto the Lord our God:
We need to concern ourselves with the truths the Lord has revealed to us and do His will.

For I had not known lust: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

For I had not known lust:

This portion of Romans 7, has caused me concern and confusion for 35 years.  I have always thought of “lust”, as a sexual problem and not much else.

In my studies lately I’ve discovered “lust” is an “I” problem.  In my post:  MY LUST SHALL BE SATISFIED:  I tried to explain.

Exodus 15:9
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.”

All these “I’s”, spell nothing, but “selfishness”.

image

(We build large monuments in hopes to be remembered).

I realized we  are born this way.  Try taking a toy from a child:  Mine, mine, mine… Is the familiar refrain.

It is the way of Natural Man.  It was the beginning of original sin.  The lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life.

We again find “selfishness”, “lust” and “envy”, raising it’s ugly head in the desert, God had  given them Manna.  They didn’t need to prepare the soil, weed, water or plant.

Just harvest.   Yet they wanted more.  (We always want more).   Flesh.

He heareth your murmurings

This shall be, when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him:

God answered their request.

Psalm 106:14-16
King James Version (KJV)
But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.  And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.  They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the Lord.”

They “lusted exceedingly”, “envied Moses and Aaron”.  He sent leanness into their soul.

Romans 7:7
King James Version (KJV)
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.”

We must learn not to “covet”, to “lust” after or to “envy” others.  Be content with our lot in life, with our mate, our ministry, our calling, our gifts.

Be faithful in all things, honest, upright, just.  Trusting as we walk in the Spirit, that the Lord will deliver us from our “lust”.

Timothy 4:18
King James Version (KJV)
And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
