That ye shall know: theunfetteredpreacher.com

That we should know; What? The Lord our God wants us to realize; … That He Is God.

In Isaiah, we learn that God planted trees, and caused water to flow in the midst of the desert so that His people ‘may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.’ (Isaiah 41:20)

Israel was a desert, it became a garden for the Hebrews. Then became a garden again in 1948.

We are precious to Him. We are His People. When trouble comes, He will be with us, He will be our Savior. He has created us, for His Glory and Pleasure. He has called us to be Witnesses.

‘Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me, there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.’ (Isaiah 43:10)

We see the Lord performing Miracles throughout the Bible, for one reason only. THAT WE WOULD KNOW, THAT HE IS GOD.

The Lord brought the Hebrew people out of slavery in Egypt, using Miracles, Signs, and Wonders so that, ‘ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.’ (Exodus 6:4) ‘That thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.’ (Exodus 8:10)

During the journey to the Promised Land, He gave them food, and drink, their clothes and sandals had not worn out yet they complained;

‘And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.

And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread, and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.’ (Exodus 16:9-12)

God gives miracles to man, so we would see, know, understand and believe, HE IS GOOD.

Joshua, leading the people into the promised land, came to the river Jorden. So Joshua spoke to the people. ‘Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.

And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.

Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.’ (Joshua 3:9-11)

There are more examples, here are their addresses.

In 1 Kings 18: 36-38, We find Elijah calling down the fire from heaven to burn up his offering to, ‘let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel.’

Isaiah 45:3. ‘And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.’

Joel 2: 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel ad that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.’

Zechariah 4:9thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.’

It continued into the life of Jesus, miracles in the New Testament.

Matthew 9:6 ‘But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.’

John 10: 37. ‘If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.’

John 14:31 ‘But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.’

John 14: 28-29 ‘Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.’

John 17:21-23 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: ‘that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.’

We are expected to work in signs, wonders and miracles. We should be seeking God for His anointing to see souls saved and the sick healed. (John 14:12-14)

The Holy Spirit should be evident in our lives by His Power displayed. We should be working in at least one of the Gifts of the Spirit, the Hebrews needed straw to make strong bricks, the Gifts are the straw we need to build a strong church.

That we do not see them, is not because the Lord isn’t working them any longer, but we are not walking as close to Him as we should. Pray and expect His word to be true.

Take His yoke upon you, walk with Him, discover the Power of the Living God. (Mathew 11:29)

Jesus begins His Ministry: theunfetteredpreacherⁿ

In the first chapter of John, we find the beginning of the Ministry of Jesus. John the Baptist is calling on people to Repent and be Baptized. The priests, Levite, and Pharisees asked ‘Who art Thou?’ He told them, he was not the Christ, but the Christ was among them and would Baptize them in the Holy Spirit.

He was asked, Why do you preach, if you are not Him? ‘He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

‘Why do you Baptize?’ ‘I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He who is coming after I is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.’

The next day John saw Jesus: ‘Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.’

‘He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.’

Andrew was one who heard John the Baptist proclaim Jesus as the Messiah, the anointed one. Andrew heard, saw, considered and believed, and brought his brother Simon to Jesus. Jesus changed Simons name, to Cephas, a stone.

Jesus, the next day went to Galilee and found Phillip, Phillip brought Nathaniel, who asked, ‘Can any good come out of Nazareth?’

Jesus had both a Word of Wisdom about Phillip, that he would accept and follow Jesus. With Nathanael, both a Word of Wisdom and a Word of Knowledge. He saw him under the fig tree and knew he would follow Him.

He told Nathanial, he would see the angels of God ascending and descending, from heaven, on the Son of Man, Jesus. (John 1:1-51)

Jesus picked these to follow Him, because He had the knowledge and wisdom from God, that they would be true believers.

The word preached did not profit them: theunfetteredpreacher

Hebrews 4: 2.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”

The word preached did not profit them

If it was the same Gospel that was preached to us, why did it not profit them? Why was it not mixed with Faith? ‘Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.‘ (Romans 10:17)

Could they not hear, or is there another reason?

Are we really Preaching the Full Gospel?

Paul stated in Romans 15:19, that in his travels he had ‘FULLY PREACHED THE GOSPEL, through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God;’

The Evangelical Church has the first half of the Gospel down pat. All have sinned. (Romans 3:23) The wages on is death. (Romans 6:23) We must Confess and Believe. (Romans 10:9-10) This is a great start, but not the full story.

Jesus gave us His example:

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. (Acts 10:38)

Matthew 4:23
And He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (Gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every weakness and infirmity among the people.

Jesus taught, preached and healed wherever He was. He sent out His disciples to do the same. (Luke 9:2,6)

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere.”

Mark 6:12-13

And they went out and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.”

Do we have Faith today? It is easy for people to Preach, Teach, and Proclaim the need for Repentance and Salvation, and we do this with varying results.

What we cannot do is have the signs, wonders, and miracles, as the Lord, commanded, by our own power. The Gospel was not mixed with Faith, so it did not Profit Them.

We must be Spiritually connected and obedient to His Word and Will, we must see, know, consider, and understand that our God is Mighty and able to do that He has commanded. (Isaiah 40:20)

May we must seek wisdom, knowledge, and faith. John the Baptist sent his disciples to Jesus to ask, “Are you the one?” (Matthew 11:3)

The answer Jesus gave them tells us how to remain full of Faith.

Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.”. (Matthew 11:4-5)

We need to Fast, Pray, Repent and ask the Lord to return His Mighty Power to the Church, (us). We need to see His signs, wonders and miracles following.9

The thing displeased Samuel: theunfetteredpreacher

“The thing displeased Samuel:” (1 Samuel 8: 6)

Samuel was displeased because the people wanted to be like the everyone else, and have a King, instead of the Lord. (Is it any different today?) Are Christians just a subset of the population of the world or are we truly different?

Are we Holy, Sanctified, and Crucified? Or Justified, Self Satisfied, and Perfect, in our minds. Are we Followers and Believers in Christ? Or in our church doctrine?

Sadly, people seem to be loyal to their church, and their personal Bibles, (we all have them, the verses we accept and live by, and verses that are no longer applicable.) We then are dismissive of the Word today.

The Lord told Samuel, that ‘the people were not rejecting him, but Me, from reigning over them.’ (1 Samuel 8:7)

I am displeased, troubled, and saddened. These people who I am convinced love the Lord, WILL NOT, ACCEPT OR DISCUSS THE WORD OF GOD, that they had not been made aware of before.

They will not look at, believe, or accept that there may be more to Christianity then they acknowledge.

Lord, is it time to shake the dust off my feet and move on, or am I where I belong?

This is a snapshot of how Fritz sleeps if he sneaks in the bed when we vacate it. It is also how I view the folks who refuse to accept God’s Word as the be all and end all. The lost was once my burden, now that I have experienced a Church that Loves the Lord, but rejects His Power and Life, my burden is with those who believe but reject the best the Lord has for us.

The Archangel;  Gabriel:   theunfetteredpreacher

The Archangel; Gabriel: theunfetteredpreacher

We have looked at Satan, thought to be an Archangel, in charge of Praise and Worship. His Pride, caused the Lord to send him from heaven, to be the God of this world.

We also looked at Micheal, the Archangel. The Lords Warrior. Who fights Spiritual Battles in answer to our prayers.

Now it’s time for Gabriel, the Archangel, who delivers and explains the Lord’s plans. We first see Gabriel in Daniel chapter 8.

Daniel 8:16
And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

Daniel 9:21-22
Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

Gabriel, the Archangel that helps man to understand Gods will and ways. It was Gabriel who informed Daniel of the 21 day fight to answer Daniels prayer.

He had visions from chapter 7 and onward. Gabriel, as sent to make Danil to understand. (Daniel 8:15-16).

His prayer and answer. (Daniel 9:1-23). (Daniel 10). Gabriel fought and Micheal came to his aid.

It was Gabriel who announced the Christ and John the Baptist’s birth.

Luke 1:19
And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

Luke 1:26
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

Matthew 1: 18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 1: 24. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25. And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Matthew 2: 11. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. 12. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. 13. And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. 14. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: 15. And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. 19. But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20. Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life. 21. And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

Matthew 2: 21. And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel. 22. But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee: 23. And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

Gabriel, the chief messenger of the Lord.

Wedding Vow : theunfetteredpreacher

When I married my sweet wife, (in 1984), I asked that the preacher would expound on these verses.

Proverbs 24:3-4

“Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”

I was disappointed. He didn’t understand what I was asking. When we read the book of Proverbs, we are repeatedly called to search for, and to desire, Wisdom.

Do we understand, what it is, we should desire? 1 Corinthians 1: 21, ‘Christ is the Power and Wisdom of God.’

It is when Christ is involved with the building of a home, a marriage, a life. Understanding and knowledge will strengthen and fill the home, the marriage or life, with pleasant riches.

In the book of Exodus *, we find the Lord giving Bazaleel, the ‘Spirit of God.’. Which is the ‘Spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding.’

He gives this ‘Spirit’, for the building of His Sanctuary, if He resides in our hearts and minds, our home will be strong and loving, full of the Lords pleasant Riches

Proverbs 24:3-4

Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation],

And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” (Amplified Bible)

Our life should embrace the Lord Jesus, He needs to be the central pillar of our lives. We shall encounter trials and tribulations, but in the Lord, we will Triumph.

*Exodus 31:1-3

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
