Turn ye unto me, – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

The most constant cry of the Lord: ” Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.”

The Lords greatest desire, His plan from the Garden.  To walk with man, to have a personal, all encompassing relationship with You and Me, both of us individually.

We read of John, leaning on the breast of Jesus;  the only Apostle to die a natural death.  Do we think he is the only one Jesus loved?  No;   I am here to tell you, the breast of Jesus is available to us all.

He was the one. Abraham, was the one. Noah, was the one.  Enoch, was the one. Billy Graham is the one.  Are you the one?

How well you know and how close you walk with Him is up to you.  You are the one who chooses to accept the offer of His presence, His person, in your life.

Are you obedient?  Are you repentant?  Are you trustworthy?  Humble, teachable, moldable, flexible and thankful for His Grace?

image

Lord, I  long to be one of the ones who have chosen to rest on Your breast.  To take up Your Yoke and to walk in Obedience and Faithfulness in Your Love.

One whom You can trust.  Whom You can Annoint,  to do Your work…to lead whosoever will to Salvation.  To heal the sick, give sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, make the lame walk.

Lord, I need to serve a God of Power.  Please Lord,  may I be the one?  Lord, mold me, make me, use me, please.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Psalm 31:12
” I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.”

What have you done for me today?

That is what is important to many people.   If you haven’t propped them up,  scratched their backs, or given them something.  You don’t exist.

Not so for the Lord.   The “steadfast love of the Lord never changes “.

Jesus, while we were yet sinners,  gave His life, so that we might be able to enter the Holy of Holies.  That we can go to the Father, covered with His blood, Holy, Righteous, Justified, Sanctified. ….Forgiven.

Psalm 37:25
” I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

God is Faithful, He calls us to the same.  No more, No less.

Revelation 17:14
“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”

Lord, help us to be Faithful, prayerful, humble followers.

he that lacketh these things – TheFix-itShop-FillingStation

2 Peter 1:9
” But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.”

Are you lacking in anything?  I am.  Why?  Because I am not the man of God that I long to be.  Why?  Because I am blind, I have allowed the Old Man to dominate in my life.  I lack the wisdom and willingness to truly follow my Lord.

Self will overcomes selflessness, pride, greed, lust overcomes service and love for others.  What must I do to correct my wrong headedness?

the word of the Lord was precious – The Fix-it Shop – Filling Station

This is from 1 Samuel 3:1.  ” the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision.”

We find Eli the High Priest a man that knew  the Form, Rituals, Duties and Laws of the Lord but didn’t seem to know the Lord at all.

His sons were ungodly, taking the best of the Sacrifices for themselves, leaving the dregs for God.  Entertaining themselves with the Prostitutes who were in the area.

The Temple should have had  a warning sign.

image

It was a form of godliness, denying the power thereof.

I believe that is why the sons were off track.

Their  Rituals were dead, there was no life. No truth to their Worship.  It’s hard to be a Servant of the living God, when He is far from you because of your sin and unbelief.

Hannah, had come and prayed for a son, whom she would dedicate to the Lords service.  Her prayer was answered and after the child was weaned, she entrusted him to Eli to learn the ways of the Lord.

It is a wonderful thing that Eli, a man who knew not the Lord, could teach Samuel to be a man that the Lord could and would use.

Why Samuel and not his sons?  Hannah had given him to the Lord, prayed for him, taught him at home before giving him to Eli. Hannah shared her living faith.

Samuel had an open heart and mind to serve and obey the Lord.

It wasn’t long before Samuel heard the voice of the Lord, who gave him a Word of Knowledge, the Lord told him of the end of Eli and sons.

So  the Word of the Lord was precious, (hidden, not proclaimed), until a suitable vessel was in place.

Today Saints, the Word of the Lord could go forth in Power and Might, if the Lord found suitable vessels in His body.

By the ninth chapter we find:

“the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came,”

Samuel was an open, obedient, reliable and humble vessel, the Lord told Him many things, before they came to pass.  Wouldn’t that be handy in our lives?

Has the Lord spoken into your ear?  Would you recognize His voice if He did?  The Lord will speak to those who will listen.  Has He been trying to get your attention?

Is there something in your lo life that is more important than Him?  A person or thing, greed,
lust, pride?

It could be that small sin you won’t left go of.  You feed it when you’re alone.  You don’t want anyone to know, it shames you, you believe you have it conquered, then it sneaks back into the light.

No matter how hard we try, the old man raises his ugly head. How long oh Lord?

Until, you are fully immersed in His Word, desire His presence, allow His leading, guiding, directing your path.

image

We must take a page from Samuels book.  Love and Obey the Lord with our heart, soul, mind and strength.

Love one another, be open to say:  “Speak Lord, your servant listens.”

Then we may find Power and Might in our Worship.

so easily beset us – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Hebrews 12
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; ”

Is there a sin that you seem to conquer and all of sudden it’s back to plaque you. You have repeatedly asked the Lord for forgiveness, deliverance. …You are clean, free until you’re not? Continue reading

Is the Holy Spirit? – 7 – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Is the Holy Spirit :
*  Guiding you?
*  Directing you?
*  Walking with you?
How can you tell?  Do you recognize His voice?
Abram was told by  the  Lord to: “Walk before me and be ye perfect.”

Moses: “Walked in the Ways of The Lord.
David:  ” walked before me.”

image

We have quite a bit of information of Davids walk:

” David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:”

“the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.”

” if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, ”

” the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, ”

” he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.”

David was a man after Gods own heart, yet he walked before, or in uprightness and integrity of heart to do all The Lord commanded.

We have a different calling:

” walk in the steps of  faith, walk in newness of life, Walk in the Spirit, walk in love, Walk in wisdom, walk in the light, walk in truth.

This is our New Testament  calling.  We are no longer walking before or in the ways of.

image

We are now called to:

Matthew 11:28-30
King James Version (KJV)
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Have you learned to walk in His yoke?  That means to walk with Him like Enoch,  Noah,  Levi…not before, in the ways of, but beside, in harmony with, in rest.

In the peace that passes understanding, in joy unspeakable and full of glory.  In the Power of the Holy Spirit, healing all that are afflicted.  Causing the blind to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear.

Comforting the brokenhearted.

Is the Holy Spirit? -4- The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Now I know some of you are thinking that we can’t just find examples of the New Testament Gifts of the Spirit in the Old Testament.   Really?   Am I  sure, a Word of Knowledge is telling us  a thing and a Word of Wisdom is what to do with that knowledge?   Or is a Word of Wisdom telling us a specific thing and a Word of Knowledge how to us it?  Nope, not positive whitch is whitch but one is one and the other is the other, not sure which label to put on either. They are both there for our education.

If we don’t learn from the Old Testament than, where did the writer of Hebrews get his explanation of Faith?   What is Faith if not a Gift of the Spirit?  (Hint: OT)

What is your measure of Faith?   We all have a measure.  Hebrews 11 tells us:

” Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

image

(You would really need Faith  to launch out into the deep with this crew)

I have never understood what this means.  To me the best definition of Faith is in the life of Enoch.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Believe God is and a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

We see examples of this in Ables sacrifice,  Enochs walk, Noah in building the Ark, Abram, leaving at hearing the Lord, later believing he would become a Father of many nations.

So how about you?  Do you know how to hear and act at the prompt of the Spirit?   What does your faith look like?

It is interesting to note some ages also.  Enoch, 65 – Abram, 75 – becomes Abraham, 99 – Moses led people out of Egypt at 80.

Quit blaming your youth and inexperience, or your age and health…..if you make yourself available and believe God is and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  The Lord has a job for you.  You could be the much needed leader for today.

Is the Holy Spirit? 2 -The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

“Have you received the Holy Spirit since you’ve believed?”
*”If I didn’t have the Spirit I couldn’t have believed. ”
“How about the 120 believers on the day of Pentecost or the others Paul met and asked?
*”Well I don’t know but I know without the Spirit, I couldn’t have gotten  saved”

All of that is true we receive a measure of faith and the Spirit, when we are saved but there is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit available to whosoever will.

Are you a whosoever will? Do you want all the the Lord has for you? Do you long to see signs and wonders following?  Do you think Jesus wants to heal the affected, comfort the brokenhearted, give sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, make the lame walk?

image

(Without the Spirit we are like these boats in dry dock…not providing the. Service we were meant to).
I  believe Jesus is disappointed in His Church,  His representatives on earth.  His words once again in:

John 14:12-18
” Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  If ye love me, keep my commandments.   And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

image

(He wants us prepared and ready to launch out into the deep, to collect His harvest ).

He promised those who believe. …(is that you?), that they would do greater works, then He,  whatsoever we ask He will do.  If we love Him… (do you? ),  we need to keep His Commands.   (Love God, Love each other).  Jesus will pray the Father to give us the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth.  We should know Him for He dwells within us.

So what happened?  Why is today’s Church so weak?  We have misunderstood Matthew 25.

The Master in the story left money (Talents ) according to their abilities. They were to invest  (or use) these Talents to increase their Masters wealth.  They received praise or scorn.

Jesus went to a far Country,  and left us something,  The Holy Spirit.   He expects us to invest or use it to increase His wealth.
(Save Souls).

He gave us the tools to use.  The Gifts…the 9 in 1 Corinthians 12 and others.  What have we done with them?

Excess and abuse mostly,  just like the Corinthians.  What should we do now?

Ask forgiveness, for our lack of Faith. Ask to be filled  with the Holy Spirit.   Ask for the gift of the the Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge.

He gave out the gift of Tongues first because that is the easiest to use….it is the one that scares people the most. (” I don’t think we should have to speak gibberish.”)  When the Lord tells us it is our spirit talking directly to Him.  (1 Corinthians 14 :4,28).

That’s filling your lamp with oil, finding the Faith to do His will.

image

That is where I’m restarting.  I  expect The Lord to bless any that come to Him in obedience and Faithfulness.

Thank You Jesus for filling us with Your Spirit of Love.

What God wants 2 -The Fix-it Shop -Filling Station

The early followers  of Jesus were only called Christians, in derision by the heathens.

They were called by Jesus, Desiples.

A Desiple is someone who studies Gods Word and attempts to follow His precepts, a person who comes to a love relationship with Jesus.

Who have one thing they absolutely   know:  GOD IS LOVE.

image

To explain this love it is really best to go back to creation.  To put it simply God made man in His image to have some sort of relationship.   He would walk in the garden in the cool of the day, with Adam and Eve.

I know you have heard this but I feel I must elaborate.  At that time thete was no death, no work, no pain, just fellowship with God.

Man could do anything and eat anything  except the fruit of the tree of knowledge.   They knew no sin, shame or guilt until they ate of tree of knowledge of good and evil.

At that point death came into the world.  For that one little, stupid act.

Disobedience of God.  Now people lived almost a thousand years before physical death but Spiritual death was immediate.   No more relationship with God.

God didn’t give up.

What God wants: -The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Why was man created?  How do we explain Gods love for us?  How do we make people understand Gods plan of Salvation and love?

I  have been asking this question to myself for years.  I have seen many ministries try to teach people how to lead folks to the Lord.  The Roman Road…is one I’ve got on this sight under the “Salvation Way”.

Unless people are halfway to belief, this is really useless.   What’s wrong with my life?  Who are you to say I’m a sinner?  Who made you God?

If they don’t know why man was created, I believe they will have a hard time accepting our “Judgement ” of their lives.

So, why did God create man?

I believe the answer is:  To walk with Him, in the cool of the day.  God simply wanted a people with a Freewill to choose to Love, Honer and Obey Him.  Adam failed.

Enoch chose the way we need to follow.  “Enoch walked with God and was not, because God took him.”

The thing The Lord requires of us is to learn to Love, Honer and Obey, to walk with Him.

A more lengthy explanation to follow.

Directions for pleasing God: -The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Psalm 37:23-24
King James Version (KJV)
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.”

image

Psalm 37 tells us how to please God:

   :1. Fret not thyself
Fret not, is mentioned 3 times in this Psalm :  “because of evildoers, fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.”
In short, worry about your own walk with God first.  Get your life straight and leave others alone.  God will take care of the rest.”
   :2.  Trust in the Lord,
Trust in the Lord:  ” and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
:3.  Delight thyself also in the Lord:
Delight in the Lord:  ” and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  he (The Lord ) delighteth in his (your) way.”
   :4.  Commit thy way unto the Lord;
Commit thy way unto the Lord:  ” trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”  Commitment doesn’t mean much if not joined with Trust.
   :5.  Rest in the Lord,
Rest in the Lord:  ” and wait patiently for him: fret not ”  Rest, Wait, Fret not all in one, this comes from commitment and trust.
   :6.  Cease from anger,
Cease from anger: (now He’s meddling )  ” and forsake wrath: fret not ” again building one from another, all  relie on the others.
:7.  Depart from evil, and do good
Depart from evil: ” and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.”
:8.  Wait on the Lord, and keep his way,
Wait on the Lord:  ” Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.”
   :9.  Mark the perfect man,
Mark the perfect man:  ” and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.”

Are you wondering how to improve your walk with the Lord?  The directions are right here:

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.”

Now Lord, help us to walk in them.

Professing themselves to be wise – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

they became fools,

Is it hate to disagree with and protest the direction and moral decline of our country.  No;  but the left will claim we are hate filled because we agree with the Word of God.

It is foolish to think this country can continue to be blessed by God when we accept sin as normal.

As a Christian,  I call for all who love God, to stand fast, act like a man and stand against a government that doesn’t act in the best interest of her people.

Pray for Godly leaders, who are not afraid to stand for the truth.  Who will fight for that we hold dear.

” Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,”

We have fools in places of power. ….God save us.

What Measure? – The Fix-it Shop – Filling Station

Ephesians 4:7
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

image

Ephesians 4:13
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

What is your measure of Grace?  Do you have the Grace to believe Jesus is Lord,  He was God become man who died and was Resurected and now sits at the right hand of God .

The sacrifice of His earthly body, His blood covers  our sins and makes us the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

If you believe that good.  Now do you truly believe He became man, on this earth….just like you and me?

Tempted as we are,  lazy, slothful, greedy, short tempered, covetous?

Probably not.  I believe Jesus was just like us, except He had an open heart to the Father for directions and the Spirit for Power.

Luke 4:2
King James Version (KJV)
“Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.”

Hebrews 2:17-18
King James Version (KJV)
“Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.”

The only difference in us and Jesus is that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and knew how to use the Spiritual Gifts  available to whosoever or as many as touch Him.

Romans 12:3
King James Version (KJV)
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

What is your measure of faith?

By Grace we are saved by Faith.  We have to believe the impossible story of Jesus to be saved.   We need to believe the impossible fact that Jesus said:

John 14:12
King James Version (KJV)
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Need to see more?

2 Corinthians 12:12
King James Version (KJV)
“Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.”

Hebrews 2:4
King James Version (KJV)
“God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”

Do you really  believe?

as many as touched him were made whole. – The Fix-it Shop – Filling Station

Mark 6 is a chapter all about perception, the people. thought Jesus was doing mighty works.  He said He could do no mighty works because of their unbelief

image

.
He could only heal a few sick.  He was doing the work of His Father.  Being His Father’s  hands.

He fed 5,000, walked on the water with Peter, calmed the storm.  The desiples were astonished.

When they landed on the other side.

” And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.”

Do people run around the villages to bring the sick to your Sunday or weekday services?

When we learn to touch Him, maybe He can then use us to touch others.

Lord, help me to be a vessel for Your love, healing and
Salvation.  May Your Spirit reign in my life.

Now I know: The Fix-it Shop, Filling Station

image

We all know the symbol of the light bulb.  A brilliant idea.  Eureka!!!

Now, I  know!!!

Six times in Scripture we find this phrase.  Sometimes it is just a statement of fact.

Abram tells Sarai, Now, I know you are a beautiful woman, say you are my sister.  (Genesis 12:11)

Moses father in law, after hearing of the plagues in Egypt :
Exodus 18:11
Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods: “

Naaman, after being told to go wash in the Jordan 7 times, to be clean of Leprosy.
2 Kings 5:15
” Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: “

Peter, after the angel released him from prison :
Acts 12:11
Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, “

The one that really opened my eyes was in the story of. Abraham and Isaac, when the Lord said:
Genesis 22:12

image

“And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.”

The Lord himself said :  “Now I know ”   is it possible that the Lord who is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient  just found out something? Or was it a statement of fact.

Like with Job, the Lord knew all along the faithfulness of Abraham,  He needed Abraham to do the unthinkable to prove to Abraham, that he, himself, would be faithful to God.

So we come to our own lives.  What do we know.  If we are Christians, we know Jesus is real and a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  Do we know it all?

1 Corinthians 13:12
” For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

We don’t understand yet, the importance of learning to take up the Yoke of Christ, of learning to walk with, not before or behind.  Elijah knew what the Lord wanted of him when he first approached Ahab.  He didn’t hear the Lords  voice, till after the message was delivered.

Levi and Simeon were obedient to the Lords will, and they said: “Should he treat our sister as a harlot? ”

Moses was obedient to the Lords will, when he murdered the Egyptian.   Phinious,  in his zeal for the Lord, killed the man and woman and stopped The Lords plague.

These men knew the Lords will and did it, before getting instructions from the Lord.  They all, walked with God, in obedience and faithfulness.

I dought the Lord calls people to murder today but I am sure He wants us to quit mudering defenceless babies, stop wilful and outright disobedience and learn to live within the parameters outlined in His Word.

Simply stated:  “LOVE GOD AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORS AS YOURSELF”

A small thing, that is the whole of the Law and Prophets.   Lord, please help us to this place.

deliver us only, we pray thee, – The Fix-it Shop, Filling Station

And the children of Israel said unto the Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

Here we go again.   Lord, I know I have this problem because I did that thing I shouldn’t have.  So Lord, help me out of this today, please.

We have a loving God so help comes.  Repeat.

What we fail to understand is He helps, saves us so we might to serve Him.  Spend time with Him, love and obey Him.   If we did, we would find a peace in the midst of the worst storms of our lives.

Lord, help us to love, honer, obey to walk in Your yoke…..with You every day of our lifes.  Don’t let us wait, until it’s too late.

What is the Church? – The Fix-it Shop, Filling Station

To the unbelieving, The Church is the building the hypocrites go to every week to show the rest of us how holy they are.

image

To some believers, The Church is where they go to hear the Preacher tell them what God wants them to know this week.  Or the place you bring people who need salvation, healing or prayer.  Or even the place where you praise or worship God.

The Church can and should be all these things but  are you?

The Church isn’t the buildings believers meet in.  The Church is the believer.  We are the ones, the seekers should come to, to be led to the Lord. To be healed by, comforted by, discover the Love and Grace of the Lord.

They don’t recognize the Lord in our lives, so why would they expect to find Him.

Some think of The Church as a hospital for the sick and those recovering.   The Lord never told us to nurse the brokenhearted.  To go someplace to heal,

No, He said: “Your Faith has made you whole.”

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”

The  Lord expects us to believe and to have signs and wonders following.  Amen.
