so easily beset us – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Hebrews 12
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; ”

Is there a sin that you seem to conquer and all of sudden it’s back to plaque you. You have repeatedly asked the Lord for forgiveness, deliverance. …You are clean, free until you’re not?

You are not alone.  Is it sin or something else entirely?

If it is sin, it is of the flesh and must be crucified.

Romans 6:5-7
King James Version (KJV)
“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  For he that is dead is freed from sin.”

Romans 8:1-3
King James Version (KJV
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:”

Colossians 1:13-15
King James Version (KJV)
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”

Jesus told people to go  and sin no more.  So if it is sin,  we should have some control over it.   Why does it continue to be a problem?

If you have repented and received forgiveness  but the problem remains, we might need to cast it out.

I don’t believe it means demon possession,  but in  an area in our lives, we have allowed the old man to reign.

2 Corinthians 6:16-18
King James Version (KJV)
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

I believe for this problem, we need to have prayer partners  to rebuke the unclean spirit,  command it to leave, then read, memorize and speak the Word until you get the victory from the Lord.

He will not give us stones, when we need his life.

Lord, help us to live and walk with You, in the Power of Your Holy Spirit.

  1. For your last point I would add James 5:16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” We get healing and help by both praying about the problem and praying for someone else’s problem. Good read brother.
