that they might have life: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

John 10:10
King James Version (KJV)
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

He has come that we might (may, would) have life and might (may, would) have it more abundantly.

Saints I do not see any translation that says we will or we shall have life and more abundantly.  Only Might, May or Would.

one thing I know: – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

One thing I know. …

If there was only one thing I knew, it would be the fact that Jesus saved me and gave me a new life.  This scripture,  is the statement of a man born blind.

John 9:25
King James Version (KJV)
“He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”

What is it that gives us that confidence,  Continue reading

all the trees of the field : -The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Isaiah 55:12
King James Version (KJV)
“For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”

Back when I was traveling as an Evangelist,  one of my favorite and first things I would do, was to teach this song and how to clap to it.  It always brought  smiles of joy as the Lord touched those who participated.

It opened the door for the sharing of the Word. The problem was, I wasn’t a very good preacher back then.  I didn’t understand how to feed His sheep.

A double minded man: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

image

I was 12 and quite a thrill to see this in the big parade.   James warns us about being Double minded.

James 1:8
“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
James 4:8
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

Joshua 24
choose you this day whom ye will serve;”

Who do you choose, are you following the road to perdition?  Or the Way of Salvation?

“as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

God hath chosen thee, – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Scripture from Acts 22:

“The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.  For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.”

The prophetic words of Ananias, the devout man, that God sent Paul to when he was blinded.

These words apply just as much to those of us who are called to serve the Lord today.

He marvelled : – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

We don’t hear or use the word marvelled much anymore,  we may find something that we call marvellous  but marvelled is out of fashion.

It is used in the Bible  23 times.   Usually people marvelled at the miracles which Jesus preformed.

Other paths to heaven? – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Is it possible to be saved with out proclaiming Jesus as Lord?  Think about it.  Enoch has been with the Lord since Genesis, Elijah, since 1 Kings, we know Moses is there, he was seen on the Mount of Transfiguration.

I can only believe Noah, Abraham, David, Daniel , all that are listed in Hebrews 11, are there;  none of them knew the Resurrected Jesus.

How did this happen and could it still happen today?  Don’t get nervous,  “by no other name can men be saved”.

“My grace is sufficient for thee: “-The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

All my Christian life I have heard of Pauls thorn in the flesh, “it is his eyes, or religious Jews “.

I see in the scriptures that he had problems with his sight, no denying that and with the religious, still a problem for those seeking God today.

Do I think he would seek the Lord for either of these things,?  No, he rebuked the religious and Satan alike.  No this thorn went much deeper.

1 Corinthians 12
“lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.   And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

“My grace is sufficient for thee: ”

of his fulness have all we received – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

A local Pastor,  Gary The-Sermonator Carrol, invited people to read the 21 chapters of John, one a day till Thanksgiving.

Great idea,  here is what jumped out at me today.

John 1:14,16
“And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.”

For Faith is not passive. – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

James 2:26
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

For Faith is not passive but demands action.

What measure of faith have you received?  Can we increase our faith?   What does it mean to be a faithful servant?

What is the work of a living faith?

I do have concerns though,  the followers that I don’t hear from . The ones whose blogs are down or inactive.  I  miss reading and learning from them as I will miss you also if you lose your incentive.

I do not have to agree with your theology to learn from you, I can spit out the seeds, enjoy the fruit.  Please keep writing and reading shineing your light abroad.

Only the Lord knows what hearts may be touched by His Words through our flawed vessels.

What shall we say then? – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

In Romans today I noticed Paul asking,  (incredulously, in frustration, sadness).  Repeatedly.

“What shall we say then?”

It seems, some felt since they had found grace and forgiveness in life with Christ,  it was OK  to continue in sin.  Paul, disabused them of that idea,

Romans 6:1
King James Version (KJV)
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?”

Romans 7:7
King James Version (KJV)
“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.”

We have those that believe that since God created us, as we are….(He is the potter and we are the clay),  who we are, is because of Him.

He has no business judging us.  Taking vengeance upon the sinner. (not letting them into heaven, allowing them to go to Hell).

Romans 3:5
King James Version (KJV)
“But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)”

Romans 9:14
King James Version (KJV)
“What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.”

He continues to remind them of Gods love and grace.  That He would have all come into the knowledge of Salvation.

Romans 8:31
King James Version (KJV)
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

Romans 9:30
King James Version (KJV)
“What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.”

“What shall we say then?”

I feel like Paul was a little exasperated with those he was speaking to.  They hadn’t understood Gods Grace and Peace,  His Love, Forgiveness, Faithfulness.

We have the same trials today,  so many will not listen to and accept the impossible idea of sin from Adam condemned ud all and Forgiveness comes through Jesus alone.

The Spirit needs to convict them, they need the seed of the Gospel sown, (our work), to be watered, (our work ), and the increase, (belongs to God).

“What shall we say then?”

Are you sowing, watering, loving the non-believers?

Or is our example leading them to Hell?
