We know that the law is good: theunfetteredpreacher

1 Timothy 1:8-11

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

Can anyone argue with these scriptures? Is this not simply true? Up to and including speed limits. They are made for the disobedient, for those who have no regard for the safety of others.

Disband the police? How out of touch with reality are the left? I cannot imagine what these people think will happen.

Absolutely insane. They prove daily that liberalism is a mental disorder.

Jeremiah 32:
17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
18 Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

Psalm 37:
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Psalm 115:
9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
12 The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.

Psalm 84:
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

The Stranger Among Us: theunfetteredpreacher

The Strangers Among Us:

The first mention of strangers in the Bible is in Genisis 15, in a dream, Abraham was told by God, that his decedents would be strangers in the land of Egypt, for 400 years; and they were.

The next mentions of strangers is at the Exodus, (Exodus 12), where the people, (non-Hebrews), that choose to join in the Passover with Gods people, needed to be circumcised.

The strangers who joined in the Exodus were to have the benefit of a day of rest. (Exodus 23). They were not to eat of the consecrated food. (For the priests). The strangers are to be treated well, should be treated as you would treat your family. Not cheating, overcharging, if they fall on bad times, we are to treat them with mercy and grace. (Leviticus 25)

The Levites were chosen by the Lord to replace the firstborn of the Hebrews and to handle all the Holy things of the Tabernacle and Alter of the Lord. (Numbers 3:41)

Numbers 1:50-51

But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and overall the vessels thereof, and overall things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle. And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

Numbers 3:10

And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

Numbers 3:38

But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel, and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

Numbers 9:14

And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the Passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the Passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him, that was born in the land.

Numbers 15:14-16

And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall do. One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance forever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD. One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

The strangers, if they decide to follow the Lord, are excepted in the fellowship, but, they have no business handling the Holy office of the Levites.

The Levites are commanded to keep the Word pure, powerful, and pleasing to the Lord. The problem is we haven’t. The Church, our body is powerless, almost a pointless existence.

There’s very little excitement in the body, in the first-century church, grew daily. The power and presence of God caused those seeking to find Him.

When the strangers are at the helm, the Church does a slow death. Faith and belief are missing. Only hot empty air is available.

There is no life in that.

To Hunger and Thirst: theunfetteredpreacher

Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

Do we really understand this Scripture? Do we understand what it means to hunger and thirst for righteousness?

Abraham ‘believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.‘. (Genesis 15:6)

Do you hunger and thirst; To Believe God? Or just to be saved, healed, or comforted?

Most of us believe in Salvation, and that God once did miracles, signs, and wonders, but ‘Not So Much, Anymore.’

Now He has given us His Word, (the Bible), and that is all He has to share anymore. Remember please Jesus is the ‘Word’.

John 1:1-5

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

We are still somewhat in darkness. We want to believe, but our natural man, rejects the truth of the Lord’s Spirit. The Lord doesn’t really want us to be like Enoch, to walk and talk and fellowship with Him over all others.

I believe that there is nothing more the Lord wants from us than that. Our Love, Trust, and a desire to be with and become like Him.

To believe He IS, and He Is a rewarded of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

To be Righteous is to believe God IS. Was, IS and will always be, everything we might need.

In the Wilderness, they knew of His promises, but they believed not His Word, they murmured and complained, till He decided to destroy them. (By a plague, Sounds like today, to me.)

Psalm 106:30,31

“Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed. And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.”

What did Phinehas do? He avenged God by delivering God’s judgment. He ran a javelin through two sinners, who had no shame.

Saints, the Lord is looking for those who Hunger and Thirst after Righteousness.

Do you wonder why you might be in want? Do things never seem to go your way?

Matthew 6:33

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The Power of the least: theunfetteredpreacher

A tale of three servants: 2 Kings 5

The first:

A captive, a slave from the land of Israel. Her master (Naaman), was a great man, honorable, a man of valor, but afflicted with leprosy.

She told her mistress that the Prophet of God, Elisha could heal her husband.

The second:

Elisha had told Naaman to go wash in the Jorden 7 times to be healed. Naaman was upset, his servant said: ‘If he had asked you to do some great thing, you would. Why not this lesser task?’

He did and was cleansed.

The third:

Naaman offered Elisha, payment, and was refused. Gehazi, Elisha’s servant chased after him and asked for payment.

When he returned to Elisha he received Naaman’s leprosy.

Of the three servants, which are you?

Do you proclaim the Lord’s power and grace?

Do you humble yourself to obey the Lord?

Do you secretly desire to receive physical rewards?

It shall be well. theunfetteredpreacher

Faith is given to us by measure. (Romans 12:3), it is something that must be nurtured, built up, encouraged, (Jude 1:20). The Shunammite woman is a wonderful example of what Faith is.

2 Kings 4:8-37 The Shunammite woman:

A great woman, a barren woman, a woman of compassion, wisdom, and grace. she fed the prophet Elisha when he passed by and made a place for him to rest, to stay.

The prophet Elisha in appreciation for her kindness asked what he could do to for her. The prophets servant mentioned she was childless.

Elisha promised and she had a child the next year. When the child had grown, he went with his father to reap the crops and suffered a head ache and died. She told her husband, ‘It Shall Be Well’.

She placed him on the prophet’s bed, and went to find the prophet.

The prophet saw her coming, sent his servant to ask, Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with your child?

She answered, ‘It Is Well’. She fell at the prophet’s feet. He said, ‘Her soul is vexed and the Lord has hidden it from me.’

She said: ‘ I never asked for a child, why did you do this?’

The child was brought back to life. Though not immediately, it took 3 different events. First The prophets staff, then alone with the child, prayer, and the prophet mirroring the boy. More prayer, finally the child coughed and lived.

It Is Well. The message we must learn. Faith can be seen, it is also heard. God spoke the universe into existence. We speak either life or death into our life and into the lives of others. (Proverbs 18:1)

Speak Life! IT IS WELL!!!

Lost? The Holy Spirit: theunfetteredpreacher

Why are there so many small Churches? Maybe we have not grasped and accepted the whole counsel of the Lord.

Matthew 25:1-13
The wise and foolish virgins:

I’ve heard the teachings, that it was a great honor to be in this group, waiting perhaps for days, until the bridegroom appeared.

How the wise had brought enough oil to wait Him out, but the foolish ran out and Had to go and find oil, thereby missing the bridegrooms coming.

Then, when they were finally ready, the bridegroom refused them entrance to the marriage supper.

We are warned to watch, for we know not when the bridegroom will appear.

Matthew 25:14-30
The Talents: (Were the talents money or skills?)

Again the teachings, the Master leaves his servants, 5, 2, and 1 Talent according to their ability. He leaves, when he returns, he finds.

The one with 5, increased to ten, the one with 2 increased to four, both were told to enter into the joy of the Lord.

The one who had received one buried it. The Master was not pleased… “You should have at least invested it, so I would gain the interest.”

Take his Talent and give it to the man with ten. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him, that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”

Cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25:31-46
The Sheep and the Goats: (It’s not about livestock).

Quite simply have you done what the Lord commanded? Fed the hungry, given water to the thirsty, met the needs of the needy?

Are you a sheep, have you accepted the Lord’s commands, have you done as He has expected?

Or are you a goat, butt, butt, butt…. I don’t need that, Lord, do it my way.

If a goat, “these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

What is this chapter really about? Knowing and doing the will of God.

The oil for the lamps:
Is being filled with the Holy Spirit.

The Talents:
Jesus, our Master left us the Holy Spirit and Power, The Holy Spirit gave us the Gifts of the Spirit, the tools for building His Kingdom.

We need to seek the best gift… the one needed right now, healing, wisdom, knowledge, faith, miracles, prayer….

Most Denominations have buried the gifts, not increased their use, have not built up the Church.

The Sheep and Goats:
The Sheep:
Those who have accepted the Gifts, grown in the Lord, have learned to increase the Church, by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
The Goats:
Those who think they don’t need the Gifts. They do not realize, they had to ask for and accept Salvation.

They need to ask and accept the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of Speaking in Tongues.

They must learn and accept the difference between our prayer language, (no interpretation needed), and public tongues, (interpretation, mandated).

With the proper use, there is no confusion, just a release of the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Growth, excitement, people are drawn to the love, grace, peace the healing, comfort the blessing of the presence of the Lord.

I love the folks and my Pastor in the UMC, I attend, but it is dying, the Pastor doesn’t believe he needs the Gifts.

He does not understand they are the tools for personal and corporate growth.

Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding: theunfetteredpreacher

In The Old Testament we had the “Spirit of God.” He covered the earth, the “Spirit of God,” was with Joseph, to interpret dreams, to give the Wisdom, that saved Egypt and the Hebrews from the 7-year drought.

Joseph was made second only to the Pharoah, in power and stature in the land.

Latter we find the Lord giving the “Spirit of God, ” to build The Tabernacle in the desert. That “Spirit,” is still given today. To empower us to build His Kingdom, His Church.

It is a “Spirit” of Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge in all manner of workmanship.

It is a Spirit that empowers Prophets, Teachers, Leaders. It fills us with His Word and Power to share the Gospel. It is the Spirit, Jesus promised to those who believe.

The “Spirit of God ” the “Holy Spirit, and the Holy Ghost” are all interchangeable names of the Comforter, the One who teaches and leads us to all truth, and gives us Wisdom, in the New Testament.

This Spirit, throughout the Bible, has caused the barren to give birth. Gives Words of Knowledge, Wisdom, and Prophecy to those who have open hearts and minds to the will of God.

Jesus Baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire.

People are filled with the Holy Ghost, while we are only given a measure of Faith. The measure to believe, if we will.

We must build up our Faith, but the Lord fills us with His Holy Spirit and Power, to share His Word, Heal the Sick, Reveal His Will, Comfort the Brokenhearted, Touch the hearts and minds of those in need.

If we allow Him, He will give us a prayer language. A language we do not understand, our Spirit speaks directly to the Spirit of God.

The Perfect Prayer.

The Gifts of the Spirit are available to whosoever will, the problem is so many won’t.

We seem to think, the Lord forces the Gifts upon those who have them. When the reality is, we must seek them, ask for them, learn to use them, to multiply them.

The Lord would have us be Powerful, Bold, Strong in the Lord. By the Power of the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit leads us to all truth, fills us with the power to do the will of God, leads us to the peace that passes understanding.

We can deny and reject Christ. This grieves the Holy Spirit when we deny the Holy Spirit we are walking in a dark and dangerous place.

There is nowhere to hide when we deny the Holy Spirits, call, and Presence in our lives.

We really should seek Him, recognize Him, invite Him to lead and guide us in our walk with the Lord.

When we take the Yoke of Jesus as our own, we will experience signs and wonders following. We will experience the Lord as our Shepherd, we shall not want.

He will supply all our needs in the riches and glory of Christ Jesus.

Is that not what we want? It is what I long for. Amen

The Holy Spirit: theunfetteredpreacher

The Holy Ghost, The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord, the Comforter, the Teacher of Truth, the Third member of the Trinity. GOD, The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Lord.

To speak of one is to speak of all three. They are ONE.

Some fear that giving their life to God, means they can no longer enjoy themselves. They would be entering the world of Do’s and Don’ts, of Rules and Regulations, Strict Adherence to the Denomination’s thoughts, beliefs, Rituals, and Customs.

None of that is true, if you give your heart and mind to Christ, you will experience a Freedom and Joy that you have never known. Because the Holy Spirit draws you to Salvation, He Teaches, Comforts, Leads, Guides, He is always with us.

The fear or uncertainty of what the Holy Spirit is, or does, is pretty standard in the Evangelical world. We may speak of the Holy Spirit and believe He is within us, but we do not understand how He works.

I have heard Preachers say; ‘If God wanted me to have the Gifts, (the Baptism of the Holy Spirit), He would have given it to me.’ Or, ‘It’s not for today, there are Catholics, Seventh Day Adventists, and Mormons, that speak in tongues, so it must be from the devil, these people are not even Christian.’

I once thought, if people didn’t believe as I did, they were not saved. I trust I have grown since that time. Not sure of the Seventh Day Adventists, or the Mormons, but Catholics recite the same Apostles Creed as Evangelicals do. they believe that Jesus died on the Cross to save them, they just do not realize they could have a closer relationship, a personal walk with Jesus, Yoked to Him, enjoying His company, accepting His Comfort and Joy.

I believe this fear of the Holy Spirit, and the Gifts is because people do not realize that they are in control. The Spirit does not take us over and cause us to speak gibberish or anything else.

1 Corinthians 14: 32.

“And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.”

The concern is from one area only. Tongues and Interpretation. For some reason, this scares otherwise fearless Christians.

It is the first Gift of the Spirit, the 120 received, and is the one Gift all could use. It is a gift to encourage the Church, (with Interpretation), and a Gift to build up our Faith. (Jude)

As a Prayer Language it is our Spirit speaking to the Lord. We may not understand, and we are not supposed to understand, it is a Gift that links us to God.

We do not know what we pray, but it is the perfect prayer, that God wants us to Pray.

When we refuse to ask for and accept the Gift that God offers, we are hiding the Talent given us, instead of growing in it. (Matthew 25).

I believe the Gifts are the Talents the Master left us. Those who learn their use, grow in the Faith. Are able to bring Healing and Comfort and even Faith to those without. The Gifts of the Spirit, release the Power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Why someone who loves God, would not SEEK ALL HE WOULD HAVE US HAVE, is beyond me.

Saints, pray for all God would give you, to complete you in Christ. (1 Thessalonians 3:10)

Scriptures used:

Hebrews 4:2

Hebrews 6:1-3

Isaiah 40:28-31

Examine/Prove/Know: theunfetteredpreacher

It is quite amazing to me that in the last chapter of the 2 letters to the Corinthians, (2 Corinthians 13:3), we find Paul asking a simple question.

Really? After all, I have taught and told you, you seek proof that I am speaking for Christ? (Bills translation)

He went on to challenge them to Examine, Prove, and Know that they themselves were true believers. (2 Corinthians 3:5)

That was not the first time he said men must. Example and prove themselves. (1 Corinthians 11:28; Galatians 6:34)

We all must exa!ine and prove ourselves, know in our hearts what and how we believe.

We must have evidence in our lives:

We must trust, have confidence and rejoice in knowing we are His and blameless in the beloved. (Hebrews 3:6; 2 Peter 3:14)

We must be obedient. ‘Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.’. (Matthew 7:21)

We must have growth in holiness. (Heb. 12:14; 1 John 3:3)

‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.’

The fruit of the Spirit must become evident. Gal. 5:22, 23),

‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.’

We must have love for other Christians. (1 John 3:13-14),

‘Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. 14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.’

We must be a positive influence on others (Matt. 5:16),

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.’

We must cling to the apostolic teaching (1 John 4:1-3),

‘Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.’

The testimony of the Holy Spirit within us. (Romans 8:15 -17).

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.’

So that we Know.

They could prove themselves not to be reprobates, not to be rejected of Christ, he trusted they would know that he was not a reprobate (2 Cor. 13:6)

We must know within who we are in Him, and walk in it.

If Paul knew some disbelieved his standing in Christ. Is it so unexpected that many question those who interpret the scriptures differently than their Denomination?

Some do not except the prosperity Gospel, I understand, many more don’t except the Gifts of the Spirit as for today, again I understand.

We must cast off these teachings that contradict the Bible. Make the choice to believe the revelation from the Word over man’s wisdom.

Examine, Prove, and Know what you know.

Healing Gifts: theunfetteredpreacher

If God gave me the Gifts of Healing or Working of Miracles, I would go to the hospital and heal everyone.”

Have you heard those who aren’t Spirit-Filled say they would do this? While complaining about Benny Hinn, Oral Roberts, or any other Man of Faith?

Yes, I said any Man of Faith. Why? Paul tells us how to fully preach the Gospel, and truthfully most of us are missing the mark.

Paul fully preached the Gospel with Mighty Signs and Wonders, by the POWER OF GOD. (Romans 15:19)

To be realistic we all are not going to have these gifts. Many men of Faith are Evangelists, Givers, Administrators, Helpers, or have some of the other Gifts.

The problem I see is most of these gifts can be confused with and performed with man’s ability. We all can all give, teach, lead, follow, do many acts of kindness.

You must have True Biblical Faith to walk in the Power Gifts. The difference lies in our desire to let God have us completely.

Think before you claim to have done that.

Is there a Giant in your life? (A sin, habit, something you refuse to leave or give to God)? I know in my life I have to continually ask for relief, forgiveness or mercy, and grace.

Now back to healing all the sick in the hospitals.

Did Jesus heal all those at the Pool of Bethesda? Or every Leper or the blind man he saw? No!

He healed all who came to those, who sought Him, and had the faith to believe.

He traveled, not to the leper colonies, but to the cities and towns, He made Himself available to those who desired Him.

Quit complaining about Ministers with private jets, (mansions I’m with you), but a nice home and prosperity? Please check out Job, Abraham, David, Solomon.

All incredible men of God. Sinners saved by Grace. Just like you and me.

Jesus healed all who touched Him, and those His Faithful prayed for. It’s more about who and what we do when we are empowered with His Gifts.

Covet Earnestly the Best Gifts. What are they? The ones you need right now.

Except the Lord! theunfetteredpreacher

Psalm 127:1-2

“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”

Except the Lord quickens my Spirit, I have little to share.

It has been 5 days since I have written a post. Why has the Lord not quickened me?

Because He gives His beloved sleep. Yes, I have spent most of this week, sleeping. When I sleep, my body doesn’t hurt, unless it hurts too much to allow sleep.

So with the help of Tylenol and other pain pills, I have slept. My arthritis in my feet and knees has made it hard to do much of anything, so I sleep.

I pray this flare up and this corona-19 will run its course so the world can return to sanity.

So I hope you are more spiritual than I and are doing well in the time.
