A Simple Truth #2: theunfetteredpreacher

An older truth, revisited

A Simple Truth #2: theunfetteredpreacher
In my post A Simple Truth #1, I explained why learning to truly Praise the Lord, is how we come to know Him better.

Psalm 76
King James Version (KJV)
“In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel. In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.”

A Simple Truth #1:

“In Judah is God known:” Judah simply means Praise.

By Praising God, we Magnify, Glorify, Exult His Majesty. We make Him first in our lives and lead others to recognize His presence. So let us look at:

A Simple Truth #2:
~”In Salem also is his tabernacle,”
Salem, simply means peace.

hitchcocks-bible-names-dictionary
“Salem. complete or perfect peace”

Peace is where He Resides.

Isaiah 26:3
King James Version (KJV)
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

We are His Tabernacle, His home, as we learn of Him, to trust in Him, to rely on and expect Him to bless us.

As we walk in His truth. PRAISE AND PEACE.

“There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle.”

That is where we find protection from our enimies and the tools we must use to defeat them.

Find His peace, by singing, praying, meditation, repeating His Word. It is through knowing and believing His Word we have the victory.

Saints, I cannot emphasize enough, how important it is to know Gods Word.

His promises, providence and His principles for a Godly life.

2 Simple Truths, that will allow whosoever to stand fast and quit ye like men.

When we refuse these Simple Truths our religion becomes more important than our relationship.

Our rituals more important than His presence.

Our Worship Service a form of Godliness, that denies the Power of God.

Please acknowledge, accept and practice these Simple Truths. Allow the Lord access to your heart.

In Praise is God known. He resides in Peace.
He keeps us in perfect peace, when our mind is on Him, when we trust in Him.

Psalm 76
King James Version (KJV)
“In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel. In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.”

Neither was the word revealed. theunfetteredpreacher

Have you experienced times, when the Word is closed to you? Some days, I can open the Word anywhere, and receive a Word from the Lord for me.

It is personal, a revealation, a blessing beyond imagination.

Then, there are times like now, it is dead, empty, meaningless. As it must be for unbelievers.

Why does this happen? My best guess is, I have ignored, or missed the mark, of the high calling of God on my life.

What?

I have not followed the last revealation of the Lord. Probably something that seemed insignificant to my natural man, but was extremely important in the Spiritual.

Or it could just be a test, to see if I will continue to Seek His Face, even when He is not easily found?

It could be that I am deaf and blind to the Lord’s desires.

Most probably the later…. lol

Lost? Or Running? theunfetteredpreacher

In my post about Fritz running away, a freind mentioned the Shepard who leaves the 99, to find the one who is lost.

The conundrum is Fritz wasn’t lost, he was running.

We were in the wrong, going after him. The difference between the lost sheep and the Prodigal son, is the key.

A lost sheep wonders away, he is not paying attention to the Shepard. There is no malice, no thought of rebellion, no desire to separate himself.

He just realizes he is not where he belongs.

The Shepard, understands, and seeks him, to bring him back to the flock.

The Prodigal, deliberately leaves the household, the Father, does not go after him, but watches for his return. He understands the need of the son to find his place in the world.

When the son realizes his mistake, he comes back to the Father and repents of his sin.

The Father receives with open arms, as He did the lost sheep. The difference is in the one who is either lost, or in hiding.

Fritz was hiding, looking for his own place in the world, we should not have chased him, but waited for his return. He did not wonder away, but ran.

He was not ready to come home, so he needed to be caught, not welcomed into the car.

Lord I pray, when I stray, I am just not paying attention, that I not be hiding, or running from You.

Lord, keep me close. I need You. Amen

Running away: theunfetteredpreacher

My wife and I have had three dogs, during our 34 years of marriage. All of them have been runners. Why?

They are fed daily, loved on, (petted, spoken to, praised), Multiple times a day.

Yet, leave an opening, and they are gone.

Now, Fritz, our current dog, has always jumped in the car, when we chased him down, Not this last time…

He kept going, ignored us, and explored more of the neighborhood.

I finally found him, (behind a neighbors house), picked him up, (only 20 pounds), and started back to the car. I fell. I did not lose the dog though.

I hung on for dear life. The problem, it turns out, was I could not stand up, without letting Fritz go.

I laid there, hoping my wife or someone would come by. I attempted to stand several times. No Joy.

Finally, a man came out of his home, I asked for help. He kept Fritz where he was, while I found my feet, he opened the door of my car, I brought the dog home.

Bette, brought the dog in, (I was useless). She told me to clean the blood off. What blood?

Blood from cuts on my face, from my fall.

I will never understand why, a dog we love and only want the best for, runs.

I also will never understand, those who know the Lord’s love, and understand, He wants the best for us, why, we continue to run from, instead of to Him.

Why, do we think Freedom from God, is better than Freedom In God.

We lack understanding, of the Spiritual. We cling to the Natural.

Lord, draw me close to You. Amen

A simple truth #1: theunfetteredpreacher

A simple truth #1:
A simple truth. A truth so real to me, that it pains me when unbelievers, do not accept it.

~Jesus loves us.
~Jesus is the only way to the Father.
~Jesus gives true peace and joy.

Simple truths, not believed, laughed at, ridiculed, rejected.

Then there are the believers who refuse to believe these simple truths.

~The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is real and a special Gift, imparted to whosoever will believe.
~The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to us today to build His Church. From the 5 fold ministry to the Gifts in 1st Corinthians 12-14.
~There is no expiration date on the gifts and calling of God, they are forever, for whosoever will, receive, (accept), them.

Simple truths, not believed, laughed at, ridiculed,

It truly pains me when these simple truths are rejected by mankind, but there are other simple truths we need to recognize also.

The simple truths we find Psalm 76 for example.

Psalm 76:1-3
King James Version (KJV)
“In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel. In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.”

Simple truth #1:
~In Judah is God known:

The word Judah simply means praise. It was first revealed in the story of Jacob and Leah, the unloved wife.

She was the first to bear children for Jacob. They were named for the Lords reaction to her prayers. (Please check out the entire story).

Genesis 29:31-35 (selected parts)
King James Version (KJV)
“And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.”

“And Leah conceived, a son, and she called him Reuben: for, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction;” Reuben, means, looked or saw.

“And she bare a son; and said, Because the Lord heard I was hated, she called his name Simeon.” Simeon, means heard or listened.

“And she bare a son; Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, his name is called Levi.” Levi, means joined. (Our job as Gods Levites today is to join men to Him).

“And she bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: she called his name Judah;”
Judah simply means PRAISE.

Simple truth #1
~In Praise is God known.
A Simple truth, not believed, laughed at, ridiculed, rejected by the quiet, reverent churchs.

They complain about the 7\11 choruses, not understanding, the Power of repetition for memorizing and meditation of the Word. It seems to be ok to memorize the multiplication tables, but not the Word of God.

Singing and repeating Gods truths, builds us up in Him, makes us strong, gives us the Word in our hearts in our time of need.

To know God is to sing, tell, yell and play His PRAISE. SHOUT UNTO GOD WITH A VOICE OF TRIUMPH.

Let the world know of His love of us and our love of Him. We gain knowledge and power in PRAISE.

Psalm 22:3
King James Version (KJV)
“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”

We are Gods chosen people today.

He inhabits our Praise.

If we would learn to Praise as a church, we could see, people comming to Salvation, our families finding peace and joy, maybe even those in need healed.

Praise shows Gods Name great. We Magnify, Glorify, Exult, Worship, lift high….as we humble ourselves and recognize His Majesty.

A Simple Truth #1:
~Please learn to let go and let God lead you into true praise.

As you sing and repeat Gods word, you can lose yourself in the joy and majesty, love and peace of God.

Are we Full Of Faith? Or Excuses?: theunfetteredpreacher

Are we Full Of Faith? Or Excuses?:

Is our life full of Faith and Power? Do we really trust and obey?

Or do we live a life of excuses, explaining why the Lord doesn’t answer our prayers?

Sometimes the answers seem far away, through a dark place, it’s scary and we try to comfort.

We attempt to explain the workings of God.

We give Excuses for Gods, seemingly non-action. He didn’t answer my prayer, there must be a reason.

“If I’m not healed today, I know that when I shut my eyes in death, I will be healed in heaven”.

“If it be Thy will, Oh Lord.”

“I know I will be healed in Gods time.”

Jesus gave two answers, when His Diciples asked:
“Why could not we cast him (the evil spirit), out?”

Jesus answered:
“Because of your unbelief:”
“This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”

Lack of Faith, and fasting and prayer.

We are all given a measure of Faith.

1 Samuel 2:35a
“And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind:”

To become that Faithful priest, we must build our Faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit. (Jude 1:20). By reading, memorizing, meditating, speaking and hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Fasting and Prayer also builds our Faith, by drawing us closer to God. He sees our desire to have more of Him, He understands we are serious. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Our unbelief is the major reson for un-answered prayer.

“He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.”

“He marvelled because of their unbelief.”

“He appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart,”

He said of Abraham:

“being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead,”

“being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”
(Romans 4)

Are we fully persuaded?

Abraham believed God and it was counted to him, as righteousness. (Romans 4:3)

We must avoid the “evil heart of unbelief.”

Hebrews 3:12
“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief,”

“They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.” (Hebrews 3)

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”

“So we see that they could not enter in (to His rest), because of unbelief.”

We must believe.

Jesus healed all that were afflicted, when they came to Him. Not later, it didn’t take time, He did it NOW, TODAY. He said we would do this and more.

Both the Faith of one praying, and the one needing prayer can be a reason for healing, or lack thereof.

Acts 14:8-10
King James Version (KJV)
“And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:

The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.”

The one seeking healing must have Faith and the one praying must be bold, full of Faith and able to speak and pray an effectual fervent prayer.
(James 5:16)

This is complicated by the fact that God, although always there, sometimes tests us. We cannot always sense His Presence.

Song of Solomon 5:6
King James Version (KJV)
“I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.”

Lamentations 3:8
King James Version (KJV)
“Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.”

Lamentations 3:44
King James Version (KJV)
“Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.”

He is testing us. We must continue to seek His face. How badly do we need and want Him.

Lamentations 3:26
King James Version (KJV)
“The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”

Lamentations 3:40-41
King James Version (KJV)
“Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.”

We also need to realize that God can and does what He pleases. Godly people can be sick for Gods reasons.

Philippians 2:13
King James Version (KJV)
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

Philippians 2:27
King James Version (KJV)
“For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.” (Speaking of Timothy)

We must learn, in everything to give thanks.

Do not give excuses for Gods lack of action, they are not Biblical.

If you do not see the answer you would like, continue to lift it to the Lord, in thanksgiving and prayer.

Our job is to believe and act on that belief. It is up to God to comfort those we pray for.

We should not try to explain. We have no idea what He is doing in their lives.

SO DO NOT, GIVE EXCUSES FOR THE LORD NOT ANSWERING YOUR PRAYER.

It is between them and God, teach them to seek His face.

He may be doing a more important work, within them. Trust and Obey.

Lord help us please, to have Faith in You. Amen

‘You can have the relationship you want with God. My desire is a more intimate one.’

The Cry of my Heart: theunfetteredpreacher

For years, I led Praise and Worship, Taught and Preached in Full Gospel settings. My concern was to bring people who knew the Lord, to a deeper Walk with the Lord, and to see the lost, come to the knowledge of Christ’s Salvation.

Dissapointment and Dispair, turned me away from giving a thought of the people and God. I knew Him, loved Him, and acknowledged Him, even as I ignored His desires for me.

I refused many offers to play piano in Denominational Churches, until, I was asked to substitute in a little UMC.

The first time I sat at their piano, I sensed the Presence of God, the Anointing, that had been missing in my life, for years.

Something wasn’t right though. In the past, I would sing a simple Scripture song, and before I had repeated it twice, the congregation was Praising with me. Not so here.

It was so drastic a change, I asked if it was a born again Church. Assured that it was I kept plugging along. They heard the same Scriptures, over and over.

Ho Hum…. So what, who cares…. Nothing… They had never heard of the Full Gospel, they had it all.

They would sing of Beaula Land, or the Old Country Church.

I decided to teach Old Testament, to keep out of trouble with the Holy Spirit.

People, who have known the Lord for 50 plus years, had no clue of it’s contents. We worked our way through the first five books, verse by verse, bringing Jesus and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in, where appropriate. (3 or 4 years of Wednesday Bible Studies).

I heard often, ‘I never knew that.’ So I finally began teaching the New Testament. Soon it became apparent they did not know the New Testament any better than the Old.

Year after year, they had heard variations of the messages of Christs birth, His Suffering and Death, and little from the Book of Acts and beyond. (Lectionary teachings).

Never a word beyond this. No wonder they were dead.

Do not get me wrong, they were Saved and loved the Lord, but had not been taught beyond that. They couldn’t even use a Concordance.

I asked the Pastor, why in the 7 plus years I had been there, I never heard the Adult versions of the Miracles, of either Testament?

Even fewer people go to Sunday School or Bible Studies tha Sunday morning Service.

The answer: ‘We Teach that in Sunday School or Bible Study, and the next Sunday morning, he told of the one, (maybe), Miracle he had witnessed.

My heart cries out…. ‘GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOU KNOW, YOU CAN HAVE A WONDERFUL, JOYOUS RELATIONSHIP,’

No one cares. Sad.

‘You can have the relationship you want with God. My desire is a more intimate one.’

After him was none like him: 3 Hezekiah: theunfetteredpreacher

The third recorded prayer of Hezekiah, that the Lord answered,is a more personal prayer.

The first prayer was for the people who had not yet consecrated hemselved to the Lord, that He would bless and accept their offerings, as Judahreturned to the Lord.

2 Chronicles 31: 20-21

“And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.”

The second prayer, was for victoryover the Assyrians, who had spoken against God and Hezekiah. That they would be defeated.

2 Chronicles 32: 21-23

And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sw19d.

Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side.

And many brought gifts unto the LORD to Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah king of Judah: so that he was magnified in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.”

It was verse 23, that really caused Hezekiahs third prayer. He became prideful. When the leaders of Babylon came to pay him homage, he showedthem all the riches tha Lord had supplied.

Isaiah 38: 1.

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,

And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,

Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;

Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.”

The Lord gave him a sign and fifteen more years of life and peace. He was happy with his, even though Jusdah would go back into captivity at that time.

2 Kings 20: 19

Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?”

‘You can have the relationship you want with God. My desire is a more intimate one.’

The Holy Spirit and Salvation: theunfetteredpreacher

Believers, all together.

Acts 2: 1-8

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?”

Acts 2:38-39

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

Acts 2:41-43

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.”

After healing the man at the gate beautiful, they were forbidden to preach Jesus. Acts 3 & 4

Acts 4: 29-33

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.”

Phillip, Peter and John, praying for believers. Simon saw the effects of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Tongues, Joy, Power). And wanted the Power to give the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8: 14-19

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.”

Paul, serving God with Zeal, but persecuting Christians. It took a touch from God to set him straight.

Acts 9: 9-10

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.”

Acts 9: 15-18

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.”

Peter and Paul both saw the Holy Spirit fall on believers.

Acts 10: 37-38

That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Acts 10:44-48

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”

Some say you cannot be saved unless you have the Holy Spirit. The Bible asks, ‘Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?’

Acts 19:1-7
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve.”

There are many who are Saved and believe, who have not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist, Baptized with the Baptism of Repentance.

As Christians, we should be Baptized in the Baptism of, obedience, to show the death of our old man, and the acceptance of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Pauls writings on the Gifts of the Spirit:

1 Corinthians 12: 1.

“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.”

Apparently, seeking answers, some go to man, when we should search the Word. The giving of the Gifts of the Spirit. Notice: On the Day of Penticost, Tongues and Interpretation ere the first Gifts given. Why, they are the easiest or us to receive, and we use the Gift of Tongues as our Prayer Language.

1 Corinthians 12:8-11

“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”

1 Corinthians 12:27-31

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.”

The Gift of Tongues should not be used in public Worship unless all recognize and are believers.

That is why the Love chapter is next. We must always be aware of who is around us, and be ready to explain, His Word.

1 Corinthians 14

1 Corinthians 14: 1-2

Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”

1 Corinthians 4:4-6

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?”

1 Corinthians 14:12-24

“Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:”

1 Corinthians 14:27-29

If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.”

1 Corinthians 14:32-33

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

1 Corinthians 14:37-

“If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Let all things be done decently and in order.”

If any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. theunfetteredpreacher

1 Corinthians 14: 38.

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.”

I heard the most ignorant Pentecost Sunday Sermon, yesterday. According to this ‘Man of God’.and he is, (a Man that loves God).

He loves the Lord and was only speaking what he understood. Unfortunately you cannot understand the Spiritual, without the Spirit.

The one hundred and twenty. Did Not Speak in Tongues, the people just heard their own language.

God didn’t need us to speak in Tongues, He already knows all languages.

1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Many are saved, yet do not understand the Spiritual, because they have not received the Spirit.

I was prepared to list once again all the Scriptures that prove we should be enjoying the Gifts and the Power, of the Spirit.

Unfortunately, as the Scriptures point out, even if I send my son, they will not believe. It is sadthey deny others that belief also.

Luke 11:52

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”

Those who reject the blessings and knowledge of the living God, are just sad.

“If any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.”

I pray for their enlightenment. Amen

‘You can have the relationship you want with God. My desire is a more intimate one.’

I believed not the words: theunfetteredpreacher

I believed not the words: An older post revisited:

~ Curiosity:

The queen of Sheba heard of Solomons fame, because he was blessed of the Lord, and she came to see for herself, if it be true.
(1 Kings: 10:1)

She heard and came to see. So many of us today, hear of the great things of the Lord, but never, ever, venture close enough to see.

There is revival down the road. A church in town is growing like mad.

The Outpouring of the Spirit of God, has multitudes gathering, seeking a touch from the Lord.

Our answer:

I wish revival would happen at our church, why isn’t the Lord adding to our church? How come, Lord?

We don’t go to see… It isn’t happening in a UMC, or Baptist Church, it’s happening in that non-denominational church.

I’ll tell you what it is.

It’s all show, they cannot be preaching the true gospel, (like we are), after all we have the truth.

It’s just the excitment of the music, skits, signs and wonders… people just want to be entertained.

Really, have you gone to see why?

No, of coarse not, those people are strange, they believe the Word of God was written for today.

Do we go and question their theology to see if it’s true?

No, of coarse not, those people aren’t of our denomination. How could their doctrine be truth?

Pastors afraid of losing their flock, they talk down the growing churches…

SHAME ON YOU!

Pastor, have someone preach for you Sunday, go visit this growing church, hear the Word preached, study the Word see if it be true.

Get to know who they are Question them. Study to show thyself approved. Are they preaching the TRUE GOSPEL?

Learn from them and teach it to your flock. Ask the Lord for His direction, walk in it. Then you will see growth.

~ Curiosity Satisfied:

1 Kings: 10. 7.
“Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.”

Pastor, the Lord is working through those, who allow Him to work through them.

Are you a WHOSOEVER, do you allow Him to lead, direct and guide His people to a closer walk with Him?

Is that you?

There is a reason the Lord is working elsewhere and not in your church.

YOU WON’T LET THE LORD LEAD.

1 Kings: 10. 24.
“And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.”

Multitudes flock to the Lords presence. To hear and learn of His Wisdom, not ours. It only comes to us as we walk in obedience to Him.

I know you are preaching the truth you know. If your church is not growing, maybe you need to learn more truth.

Lord, help us to let your presence flow through us. Amen

Four types of believers: theunfetteredpreacher

Four types of believers :
An older post, revisited:

December 15, 2014
There are 4 types of believers in the body of Christ :

The Church attenders
The Levites
The Priest’s
Those who walk with God :

☆ The Church attenders:

These are the people who desperately want a Savior, some attend church Christmas and Easter, most every Sunday, a chosen few two or more times a week. They may be involved with Sunday school, choir, Bible study.

They know the apostles creed, they have believed and confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior.

They have allowed Jesus to be Savior; As Lord, not so much.

They love the idea of being saved as long as it doesn’t interrupt or change their lives too much.

Like the Hebrews in the desert, they will gladly partake of the Lords provisions while complaining about the same.

Man: “I haven’t had a new pair of shoes in years.”
Other man: “Well, they still look brand new.”
Man: “Yeah, I want different ones.”

Dismissing the miracles the Lord is doing, daily.

☆ The Levites:

The Levites are the backbone of the Churches; they are the organizers, the workers, builders, movers and shakers.

In the desert they assembled and disassembled, carried and cared for the Lords house.

Protected it from stangers (those who knew not the Lord). They stood with the Priest’s when the Church attenders sinned.

They know the apostles creed, they have believed and confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior.

They have allowed Jesus to be Savior; and Lord in many areas of their lives.

Some things are just to dear to give up.

☆ The Priest’s :

These are the doers of the Word: They study to show themselves approved, workmen rightly dividing the Word of truth. They teach, preach, exhort, comfort, guide and direct. Wherever they go.

They know the apostles creed, they have believed and confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Jesus is their Lord and Savior :

They live a life of holiness, sanctification and consecration.

They deny themselves and take up their cross daily.

They work out their Salvation with fear and trembling.

They have set their face like flint towards the Lord.

They may have many followers or none. They are concerned with being obedient to God. They will be misunderstood, maligned, persecuted and highly favored by God.

☆ Those who walk with God :

Psalm 65:4
King James Version (KJV)
“Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.”

This is who we all should aspire to be. The Lord has stood at the door of our hearts, we have accepted Him in. Now we need to let Him Cause us to approach, learn to enter into the Holy of Holies, to find the mercy and grace He so wants to share.

Psalm 22 tells us He inhabits the Praise of His people. If we desire to walk with Jesus, we must learn to praise and worship. Learn to live the Lords prayer, not just recite it.

If we want to experience joy unspeakable, the peace that passes understanding, the comforter, teacher, lover of our souls, we must Worship and adore Him. Believe Him…Take His Yoke…..it is the only way to Walk with Him.

If you just attend Church, and don’t allow Jesus to be Lord, when its time to enter the promise, you may find you have an evil heart of unbelief. Like the Hebrews you may just wonder and die in the desert.

Please Lord, create in us clean hearts and renew our Spirits, that we might Walk with You.

Find pleasures for evermore: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

pleasures for evermore.”

Woo Hoo, ……….   Sign Me Up

Reading a good book, watching movie after movie…coffee, air conditioned comfort, heat in the winter, (sex,…  sex used to be on the list), food, O the food….”pleasures for evermore.”

image

image

Maybe that’s not what He means for us.

The Lord promises “pleasures for evermore.”

We need to find the place to experience them.

Psalm 16:11c  Tells us where to find this everlasting pleasure.  “at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Wait a minute, is there room at His right hand?  Jesus is there already.

What can we do?

Learn to walk with Jesus, then we will always be at His right hand and experience His “pleasures for evermore.”

Leading the lost to the Lord, praying for and seeing the sick healed.  Comforting the broken hearted, feeding the hungry, clothing those in need.

Sharing His Love and Grace.

Spending time in Vocal Praise, silent meditation, prayerful study and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

These are the places to find His “pleasures for evermore.”

What else might the Lord have for us?

Psalm 16:11b
“in thy presence is fulness of joy;”

Let me get this straight….  At His right hand are:  “pleasures for evermore.” and in His presence is:  “fulness of joy;”…..

Why are we not in His presence, at His right hand, learning to be in constant fellowship, obedience, peace with Him.

The only thing standing between us and:  “fulness of joy; and pleasures for evermore.”
Is our refusing to be at His right hand and in His presence.

He promises to tell us and show us how.

Psalm 16:11a
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life:”

How does He show us?   By His written word and His Holy Spirit, Who will guide us to all truth.

He gives us Words of Wisdom and Words of Knowledge, the Gift of Faith, Gifts of healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, the feared Gifts of Tounges and Interpretation.

We must dig up the Talents, (Gifts of the Spirit).  Learn to use them, to increase them, so that when the Master returns we hear: “Well done, My good and faithful servant.”

I am concerned that too many will miss the mark, having buried the tools He has given us, to increase His Kingdom, in the evil spirit of unbelief and fear.

Let Him show you, ask Him for His gifts, a gift left unopened, is a gift refused.

Don’t refuse the Lords Gifts and Power;  the Holy Spirit.

We need Him to complete our calling.

Psalm 16:11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

image

Lord, help me to stay on the path of life, in fulness of joy, with pleasures for evermore.

May we touch lives with Your love.  Amen

Are we blameless? – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Blameless, a Biblical word, not used often in regular conversation.  It is more typical to hear, “It’s not my fault”.  Than “I am blameless.”

I have not really thought of that word till I read Rebecca Brands post:

“Why we should strive to be blameless… “– http://wp.me/p4Fs0f-t5

Proverbs 13:6
New Living Translation (NLT)
“Godliness guards the path of the blameless,
but the evil are misled by sin.

She makes a simple but eternally important point.

“We can never “not sin” due to our natures BUT we can strive to be blameless in this world.

How?

By being led the Holy Spirit.”

To be blameless.  Now here is a goal, that I never thought to attain.

I have been struggling with the sin that so easily besets me for 30 + years.  It never occurred to me I might be “blameless.”

2 Peter 3:14b
King James Version (KJV)
Wherefore, beloved, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

To  be found in Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.  Be diligent to seek that which is of God; and to do the following:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-24
King James Version (KJV)
Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Quench not the Spirit.  Despise not prophesyings.  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.   Abstain from all appearance of evil.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless, that is what being sanctified  wholly, (set apart unto God), is all about.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

We are righteous, blameless because of Jesus and His blood, we have a responsibility to become wholly sanctified, by the study of and acceptance of His Word.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Knowing scripture helps God to mold and make us into His image.

Philippians 2:13-15
King James Version (KJV)
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.   Do all things without murmurings and disputings:   That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Blameless and harmless, doing all without murmuring and disputing, (complaining).

Lights in the world, because God works in  us, doing His will and His good pleasure.  That we might:

Philippians 3:9
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Our righteousness, our blameless standing before God is only through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Proverbs 13:6
King James Version (KJV)
Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.”

As a newborn has original sin, but is blameless.  So a man reborn in Christ, covered with His blood is blameless.

Rebecca said it better:
“we can strive to be blameless in this world.

How?

By being led the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 8:13-15
King James Version (KJV)
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Thank you Rebecca for bringing this truth to mind.

the things which we have seen and heard: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”  Acts 4:20

Peter and John in the Power of the Holy Spirit and in the Name of Jesus, had healed the lame man at the gate beautiful.

image

(Is anything to hard for Our God?)

By the Name of Jesus”

5,000 were added to the church because of this miracle.  Peter and John were commanded not to teach, preach or speak of Christ.  Their answer:

“But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.  For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

Wouldn’t it be nice to see 5,000 added to the church at one time?  Or experiencing:  “the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

Most of our churches are seeing a decline in attendance….not an increase.  Why?

Has the Name of Jesus become of none effect?  We pray in Jesus Name, but few are touched.  (Yes, we see some miracles, but anything note worthy)?  Not really.

How dare I say this?

Look at the church, are any being added?
Do you see 5,000?   What is the problem?

There are hundreds of verses in the Word that tell us Jesus and His Disciples healed all maner of sickness, it even states they healed all that were sick.

We” tell folks not to bring their colds to church because others will be infected.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!      .

1 Corinthians 12:28
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

Apostles, Prophets and Teachers we have plenty.  It is relatively easy to study the Word and share.  Especially if there is a spot light. (for some).

Even helps and governments are easy slots to fill….

1 Corinthians 12:30
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”

NO, NONE, NOBODY…”THOSE THINGS PASSED AWAY WITH THE APOSTLES.”

Why do we have the others then…everything should have passed if some have.

No, this kind comes by prayer and fasting.

It’s easy to talk, harder to walk, in the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Too many say, “If God wants me to speak in tongues, interpret, or heal the sick, He will give me those gifts.”

HORSE FEATHERS!!!!!!!

You were saved because you asked Him to forgive you, to become Your Lord and Savior.

He doesn’t behave any differently with the Gifts of the Spirit.  We must ask if we expect to receive.

We must be trust worthy if we expect Him to trust us with His Power.  We are not.

We don’t press into the Holy of Holies.  Seek Him and expect to receive the FAITH, to walk in His Grace.

When we fast and pray, do so just seeking more of Jesus in your life.  More Jesus in your charactor, actions, thoughts, speech.

We must become more like Jesus, crucify our old, (natural), man and let Jesus lead, guide and direct our lives.

At one point in my walk, I failed the trust worthy test.  I am determined to earn back that trust.

image

Lord, let this old, broken down Holy Spirit dispenser, fulfill Your promise to Your church.

I will become a man the Lord can use in this world today as He used the Disciples in days if old.

Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.  Amen
