The Gifts and calling of God are without repentance. The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

GIFTS OF GOD

I am going to try to explain to my Bible class why the Lord gave us these gifts.  Please comment and advise.

Of course I will be explaining and answering questions as we go.

The Gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Romans 11:29 (AMP)
For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]

God gave gifts to build His home.

Exodus 31:1-5  (read Exodus 35)
“And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,  To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,  And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.”

Exodus 35:30-35
“And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the Lord hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;
And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;   And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,   And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.
And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.”

The gift of the Spirit of God was given specifically for the building of His Tabernacle, His home.  We believers are His home today.  We are His Tabernacle.

Ephesians 4:11-15  (Christ gave)
“ And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;”

(~ Apostles:  those who had been with Jesus and witnessed His resurrection (or received a special revelation of the risen Jesus)     (Acts 1:21, 22; 1 Cor. 15:1–9).    Delegates of particular churches (2 Cor. 8:23; Phil. 2:25)  (Today One Harbor : growing the body.)
~ Prophets:  The New Testament prophets conveyed special revelation to the early church. Their functions included prediction, exhortation, encouragement, warning, and explanation (Acts 15:32; 21:9–11; 1 Cor. 14:3). The teaching of the New Testament prophets and apostles laid the foundation of the church (2:20),     1 Corinthians 14:3
“ But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.”

Ed·i·fy\ˈe-də-ˌfī\
: to teach (someone) in a way that improves the mind or character
Ex·hort\ig-ˈzȯrt\
: to try to influence (someone) by words or advice : to strongly urge (someone) to do something
: to incite by argument or advice : urge strongly

Com·fort\ˈkəm(p)-fərt\
: to cause (someone) to feel less worried, upset, frightened, etc. : to give comfort to (someone)
1 : to give strength and hope to : cheer
2 : to ease the grief or trouble of : console
~ Evangelists:  People especially gifted to proclaim the gospel (Acts 21:8; 1 Cor. 1:17)
~ Pastors and Teachers:  The two words go together to refer to a single set of individuals who both shepherd and instruct God’s flock.
1 Peter 5:2
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;”)

“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

Why have we been given the 5 fold ministry?   List reasons:

Romans 12:1-9
“ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.   And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:   So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.   Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;   Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.  Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”

Again why was the chuch given these gifts?    List reasons:

1 Corinthians 12:1-12
“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.   Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit,    And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.   And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.   For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;   To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
~ Specific gifts for specific needs, now, today, to increase, build up the body of Christ. (For more, search for: Concerning spiritual gifts) on home page menu.
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:   But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.”

1 Corinthians 12:25-31
“That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.  And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.   Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?   Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?   But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.”

Please read all of chapters 12-14……covet, desire the best gifts, those needed today….USE THEM IN LOVE.

1 Corinthians 14: assorted:
Prophesy:
“Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.”
“But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.”
“Rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth”
“He that prophesieth edifieth the church.
“Rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.”

Tongues:
“ For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; ”
~ Jude 20
“ But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,”
~ Use of prayer language in private….in public, need interpretation.
“I would that ye all spake with tongues (private prayer) but rather that ye prophesied:(public, unless interpret):   for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.   Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?”

“Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.  Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.  For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.  Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.   I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.   Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.”

~ Paul, wants you to have the prayer language, for private use.  To edify yourself, build up your faith, give thanks….ect.
~ Tongues the first gift given in Acts 2.  Why?  Easiest to use, least amount of faith, privately acquired and used as prayer language.
If you want to build the Tabernacle, you need a willing heart, desire God’s gifts.

He gave them to build His Kingdom, I firmly believe, we will find that they are the Talents the Master left and expects us to increase His Kingdom with them.  (see Mt 25 post).

These Things: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

John is an interesting writer.

In 1 John we find him telling us why he wrote the letter:  “And these things write we unto you, That your joy might be full.”  Our JOY, is the first of about 12 reasons listed in this letter..

What had he written?

image

That Jesus was alive, that he, (John), and others had witnessed and experienced His Love, Grace, Mercy, Power and Might, as well as His death and resurection.  That Jesus is real and we can know Him.

That the same Relationship, (Fellowship), with Jesus that they had, is available to everyone of us today. To Whosoever, will Abide in Him.

In the book of John we find him explaining why he is telling us these things.  Again “joy”, is a big reason.

John 15:11
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

What was he writing about here?

How we must learn to Abide in Him as He Abides in the Father.  That if we do, our prayers would be answered.  That we would bear much fruit, that the Father will be Glorified.  That His joy will Abide in us and that our joy will be full.

That the Father loves us as Jesus loves us.  That we must love one another.

Do you desire fullness of joy?

Learn to Abide, live, love and walk with Jesus.

Jesus would also have us live in peace, in the midst of the coming storms, He wants us to realize He is within, an ever present help in times of trouble, that He will never leave us or forsake us.

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:4
But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

John 16:6
But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.”

John 16:1
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.”

We should know, God is in control, we must walk through the circumstances that come our way, expecting the Lord to Guide, Direct and Protect us as we are true to Him.

As we do, we will discover  “Joy unspeakable and fullness of Glory”.

Lord, help us please to live in “Fullness of Joy”.  Thank You.  Amen

Do you understand your calling? The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

As a young Christian, I was so concerned.  I wanting to be, and to do, all the Lord would have  me to be and do.

My desire was to:
make my calling and election sure
and to become one of the:
partakers of the heavenly calling“,
knowing He had:
called me with an holy calling,”

In the sincere hope that:
God would count me worthy of this calling
and that I would attain:
the prize of the high calling

Knowing once again, I was:
called in one hope of my calling;”
and that I would:
abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

I understood that the:
gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
and He has:
called us to glory and virtue and
unto his eternal glory

I needed to realize, that:
God hath called me to peace. and
the Lord had called me to preach the gospel“.

Maybe not in a pulpit, but in my everyday life, my witness a call to the world, that Christ is alive and would have all to come to a saving knowledge.

I still struggle to fulfill the calling of God.

What are you Filled with? The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

The earth is full of His Glory.

The inhabitants, not so much.  In Genesis we see that the earth was full of violence.  Today it is much the same.  (To our shame).

image

In times past, the Lord would fill people with the Spirit of God, a Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge in all manner of Workmanship.  (Exodus 35)

Why?  So they could build His Tabernacle, His place of residence.  He fills us with His Spirit today for the same reason.  (To build His Kingdom).

It is interesting to me that all men get a measure of faith, (the ability to believe), but we who do believe, can allow ourselves to be Filled with the Spirit.

Yes, we must ask, as we did for Salvation, The Lord doesn’t force His Spirit on anyone.

They were in one place, in one accort, waiting for the revelation, the fulfillment of His promise.

Many of us today, claim if God wanted us to have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit He would have given it.

Well, do you desire the best gifts?  Or are you afraid of them?

The gifts will not make you do foolish things, make you embarrass yourself.  The Baptism will fill you with Joy, Peace and Life like you have never known.  The Spirit is subject to us, we control what we do with Him.

Are you full of His Spirit?  How would you know?  Can we know or must we take it on blind faith?  I am persuaded we can and should know.

When you are full, Jesus bubbles forth, people will see and recognize the Master in your midst.

The joy of the Lord is your strength, the peace that passes understanding your constant companion.

Let the Glory of the Lord shine through you.

How do we receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?   Do I have to speek in tongues?  Do I have to interpret tongues?

To receive the Baptism:
Go to your prayer closet.
Ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit.

Must you speak in tongues and interpret?
There is no need of interpretation unless you speak in tongues publicly.

There is a private tongues, a prayer language.  You should ask the Lord for your prayer language, it builds up your most holy faith.

As you prayerfully  wait, a sound may come into your mind, let it out of your mouth.  It may seem to be gibberish, but you are speaking Spirit to Spirit, directly to God.

It will change you.  You will experience the Lord, as you have never known Him.  You will walk closer to Him, it will be easier to obey and understand His desires for you.

You will care for and pray for those around you.  You will do the work of the Lord.

DESIRE THE BEST GIFTS……ASK AND YOU WILL RECEIVE, SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND, KNOCK AND THE DOOR WILL BE OPENED.

The world of “Whosoever Will.” The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

The world of  “Whosoever Will.”

“Whosoever Will”

I struggle with this daily.  I plead, beg and encourage.

image

To become nothing but discouraged, discontented and dismayed  when whosoever won’t.

I am a Full Gospel guy.  I have known and loved the Lord for 35+ years.  I have been disappointed for close to 30 years in those who won’t.

~  I am disappointed when people won’t accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

~  I am disappointed when those people who know the Lord, will not accept all He has to offer.

~  I am disappointed when people do not lift their voices in true praise.

“Whosoever Will”

If I am discouraged, dismayed, disappointed, how much more is the “One who sent His Son“?

Passionate pleading, emotional insistence, rational reasoning, we can try them all.

Without the Holy Spirits work, it’s a rocking horse.  (movement going nowhere).

We are to plant, water and feed.  We need to rest in the fact that God alone, gives the increase.

The size of your Church, choir, Sunday school class, or your Bible study is determined by, “Whosoever Will”.

“WHOSOEVER WILL”, is determined by:

~  Quality:

The Quality of the Spiritual food provided.
(feed My sheep)

The Quality of the Worship and Praise  employed.  (Worship in Spirit and Truth)

The Quality of the Fellowship of believers.
(meeting prayer, financial and physical needs)

If there is Quality in any one of these 3 areas, we will see growth.  If all three are present we will see mega  growth.

So many churches lack all three.  (It’s us 4 and no more).  We won’t accept and join those who will.

We aren’t growing in the Lord,  or allowing others to grow either.

The message of the Gospel does not change.

We must not be bogged down with our traditions, rituals, forms of Service.

image

We must allow the Lord into our midst, be open to His Spirit.  Give Him room to be God.

Stop being “Whosoever Won’t“.  Become “Whosoever Will“.

Is your church a Welcome Center? The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Is your church a Welcome Center?

image

Driving on the Interstate, as we enter  each new state, we usually find a welcome center.

A rest stop.

Usually a pleasent building, light, airy, comfortable.  A place we stop to find relief, maybe a snack, a map, directions.

Where we find out where we are at that moment.

To me that sounds what the church should be.

Full of light, the breath of the Holy Spirit,  comforting the broken hearted,  healing the sick, opening the Spititual eyes of those blind.

A place to find a snack, not a meal, we need to feed ourselves daily, the Sunday Snack should be Sunday Special.

A desert, something that makes us desire MORE.  More Jesus, more light, more grace, peace.

We need to see the map.  Are we moving closer to God?

That is what I believe the Church should be.

Is your Church a Welcome Center?   Should it be?

Any ideas how to make it so?

Reconciled, forgiven, blameless….that’s me!!! The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

I am “Forgiven“.

The day I accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, I repented of my sin, and was covered by the blood of Jesus.

I had been “Justified“.

It is Just As If I Never Sinned.  My sin is as far from me as the East is from the West.

Am I sin free?

No, I wish I was, but I need to continue to recognize, and repent of my failure to reach, the mark of His high calling.

Forgiven isn’t the end of it though.

Jesus promises to “Sanctify us wholly“.

1 Thessalonians 5:22-24
King James Version (KJV)
Abstain from all appearance of evil.   And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”

We need to be wholly “Sanctified“.

Set apart, unto God for His service.  We determine our direction and God will do the work in our hearts.

We will be “Blameless” in Gods sight.

Again we determine our direction, always walking toward the Lord, seeking His face continually.  Obedience to His will.

It is not us, but Jesus who presents us “Blameless“, to the Father.

Reconciled“:

What a blessing, now, we are like Adam, the Lord would walk with us in the cool of the day.  We are able to enter into the Holy of Holies, to find grace and mercy in our times of need.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
King James Version (KJV)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

We are the “Righteousness” of God in Him.

Jesus is the all in all.  He has done it all.  Our job is to reconcile those we meet to Him.

He came not to condemn, but to save the world.  Our lives should be an invitation to those we come into contact with.

A welcome center, providing information, direction, comfort.

Unfortunately, some us take the verses about foolish and peculiar to heart and scare away, rather than welcome to the Kingdom.

O my God, I trust in thee: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Praying the Word of the Lord:

Psalm 25
King James Version (KJV)
“Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.  O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.  Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.  The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.   For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.  Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.  The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.  Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.   Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.”

Lord, hear this my prayer.  I look, trust and wait on You.  Lord, remember Your words, forgive me,  supply our needs.  You are my Savior, Lord, Shepherd, Provider and my ever present help in times of trouble.

The time is now.

I have no delight in thee; – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Have you ever considered, that the Lord will say:  “I have no delight in thee;

You know there will be believers, who will hear: “Depart from Me, I never knew you.”

How can this be?  Will He say it to you?  Why would He say this to believers?

We see why, in the story of the Talents. (Mathew 25).  The Master left His servants Talents, (money?),  those who increased those Talents were blessed, those who buried them heard, “Depart”.  When the Master returned.

image

We are usually taught the Talents were money.   Did He leave you any money?  I didn’t think  so.

Are you a servant of Jesus?

Do you really think the Talents He left are in knowing how to invest, how to make money?

NO,  …..  HE LEFT US, (sent  us), HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

He would have us increase in our ability to walk in His will, by the Power and Grace of the Holy Spirit.

He would have signs and wonders following those who believe.  He promised they would, why don’t they?

WE HAVE BURIED THE HOLY SPIRITS GIFTS.

He gave us His Holy Spirit,  a lot of churches acknowledge the existence of, but deny the power, gifts and works of Him today.   They are burying the Talents He would have us increase.

There is a time, when we will be asked, how we increased His Kingdom, by the use of His Gifts.

Please, …  SEEK THE BEST GIFTS.

The gifts needed for today, it may be the Gift of Faith, or Healings, Miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of spirits, Words of Wisdom or Knowledge.

Or heaven forbid the Gift of tongues, (so you have a better prayer life, in private with God.

Or tongues and interpretation to exhort and comfort your brothers in Christ in public.

Read the whole word, Paul says:  SEEK YE THE BEST GIFTS.  Just use them in love.

Will the Lord have delight in us?

2 Samuel: 15. 26.
But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.”

This scripture is from the time King David is fleeing from his son Absolom.  He sent the Ark of the Lord back to Jerusalem.

Declaring he would wait and see whether the Lord allowed him to  see it again or not.

David was rewarded because of his faith and his life of repentance.

We will be rewarded because of our faith, life of repentance and our obedience in loving God and each other, by supplying their needs.

Both by physical means, food, clothes, financial help and by Spiritual means, Words of comfort, grace, direction.  Healings and Miracles.

ONE BLOOD, ALL NATIONS, TO DWELL ON THE EARTH TO SEEK THE LORD.

So as we segregate ourselves in Worship, Politics and every other way we can imagine, God commands us to love one another.

Why can’t we get along?   Genisis 11.

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.”

Genesis 11:5-8
King James Version (KJV)
And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

The Lord scattered us.  It is natural.  We can’t do things as one, because we don’t understand each other.

So, we need to quit trying to be one, and agree to love as one.  Live in harmonious differences.

We should be able to agree to disagree.  We are one in the blood of Christ.  That is enough unity.

Now go out and share Jesus, not your church, not the preacher, not our programs, or personalities ….  it is all about Jesus and His blood, that is what we share.

That is what makes us one.

whatsoever he doeth shall prosper : The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

“whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Who is he?  Do you know him?  Is he you?

Some people appear to sail through life, like Midas, everything they put their hand to, turns to gold.

They are full of the joy of the Lord, they are givers, they love life, and everyone they meet, loves them, they are content, kind, and forgiving.

(The rest of us, hate them.   lol)

These people seem to thrive, as the rest of the world struggles.

image

Could I be more like them?  Is there a secret only they know?  Are they special in the Lords sight?  Is there a way to join them?

Is it possible that I could be he

Is there a way that:  “whatsoever I doeth shall prosper?”  If you believe the word, YES.  We must first take control of where we sit, stand and walk.

Psalm 1
King James Version (KJV)
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Walking in the counsel of the ungodly.
The worldly view of what to do.  It is ok to…?   You don’t take medical advice from your tax guy.  Don’t rely on the world for Spiritual counsel, (walk in worldly wisdom).

Don’t hang, (stand), around with sinners.
Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners.  Yes, He did.  He did not join them in their sin, He led them in the  way of repentance.

Don’t Sit in the seat  of the Scornful.
Do not think you are better, smarter, more qualified than those doing the work.  You aren’t.  We must judge Godly judgement.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Delighting in the law of the Lord.
Love the Lord, love thy neighbour,  pray, sing, rest, believe, act on the Word in love.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

You will be like a tree, nourished, fruitful, evergreen, prosperous.
God will supply all your needs, you will do His work, souls will be saved, you will overcome the wicked one.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

The destination of the non-believers.
The ungodly and sinners, will not stand in the judgement, or with the righteous in fellowship.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Will, “whatsoever you do prosper”?   It is up to you.  Love, believe, trust in and act on the Word.

there is more hope of a fool: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

When I married the love of my life, 31 years ago, I was confounded and confused.

She didn’t know she was supposed to fix breakfast daily.

That lunch could be soup and a cold sandwich once in a while, (but that’s not a real meal).

Dinner was meat, potatos and vegetables.
Unless it was a special occasion.  Then it was pizza.

Who brought up this women?  She hadn’t a clue how to eat.  She wouldn’t even make gravy.

O the horrors of married life.  What did I do?  What did I do?  What could I do?

I did the only thing I could.  Adapted, Improvised, Overcame.

image

                         (What a turkey)
I got my own breakfast, ate what was served, and liked it.  (lol)

A harsh reality was learned.  Not all families follow the same rules, think alike, or do things the same way.

Over the years it became apparent that our families were different in other ways also.  Bette’s family were all Born Again Christians.

I was raised in the Catholic Church and had only been saved for 4 years before we were married.   Bette’s family had a joy in life.

My family enjoyed sarcasm, biting words, we found joy,
in one-upmanship.

I hate it when I do that now, (and I do, on occasion). I get that Rachel Maddow smile, when I think I’ve been clever.  I wasn’t.

James wrote:
in many things we offend all.”

I am sorry to say, in many ways on many days I have offended all.  You would think an adult male would control his words.

James had more:
Even so the tongue is a little member,”
But the tongue can no man tame.”

He asks:
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

This is my latest folly.  PRIDE…   Of who I think I am, Of what I think I know, Of where I think I should be in the class room.

That’s right, no meek and mild submission.  I must let everyone know, how much I know, how big a fool I am.

image

One-upmanship….a hateful trait.

Proverbs 29:20
King James Version (KJV)
Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

If I could only learn to be quiet.

Proverbs 17:28
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

Amen

A sweet savour to the Lord: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

What makes a sweet savour (smell, aroma), to the Lord?  We find it mentioned 46 times in the Bible, most in the Old Testament.  All concerning burnt offerings.

The first offering was spontaneously made by Cain and Able.  (A freewill, giving back to the Lord).  Long before  the Priesthood, and formal offerings were  implemented.

It is interesting to note:
There is no mention that it was a burnt offering.
Cain was the first to bring an offering, the fruit of the ground.  Followed by Able, with a perfect lamb.
The Lord rejected Cains offering but excepted Ables.

Why?

I believe it was because Cain was proud of his accomplishments, the tilling, weeding, picking the best.  (Because of him, it was a good crop).

Where Able brought a perfect lamb, without spot or blemish, acknowledging the Lords perfect work.

After this Cain killed Able and left the presence of the Lord.   There was no sweet savour.

I write unto you: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

In the book of 1 John, we find the writer, telling us 12 times why he wrote to us.

I thought it might be interesting to find  out what he felt was so important.  He imparted several Truths of the Gospel.

1 John: 1. 4.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
