A Simple Truth #2: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

In my post A Simple Truth #1, I explained why learning to truly Praise the Lord, is how we come to know Him better.

Psalm 76
King James Version (KJV)
In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.   In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.  There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

A Simple Truth #1:

In Judah is God known:”  Judah simply means Praise.

By Praising God, we Magnify, Glorify, Exult His Majesty.  We make Him first in our lives and lead others to recognize His presence.  So let us look at:

A Simple Truth #2:
~”In Salem also is his tabernacle,
Salem, simply means peace.

image

hitchcocks-bible-names-dictionary
Salem. complete or perfect peace

Peace is where He Resides.

Isaiah 26:3
King James Version (KJV)
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

We are His Tabernacle, His home, as we learn of Him, to trust in Him, to rely on and expect Him to bless us.

As we walk in His truth.  PRAISE AND PEACE.

There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle.”

That is where we find protection from our enimies and the tools we must use to defeat them.

Find His peace, by singing, praying, meditation, repeating His Word.  It is through knowing and believing His Word we have the victory.

Saints, I cannot emphasize enough, how important it is to know Gods Word.

His promises, providence and His principles for a Godly life.

2 Simple Truths, that will allow whosoever to stand fast and quit ye like men.

image

When we refuse these Simple Truths our religion becomes more important than our relationship.

Our rituals more important than His presence.

Our Worship Service a form of Godliness, that denies the Power of God.

Please acknowledge, accept and practice these Simple Truths.  Allow the Lord access to your heart.

In Praise is God known.  He resides in Peace.
He keeps us in perfect peace, when our mind is on Him, when we trust in Him.

Psalm 76
King James Version (KJV)
In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.   In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.  There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

A simple truth #1: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

A simple truth.   A truth so real to me, that it pains me when unbelievers, do not accept it.

~Jesus loves us.
~Jesus is the only way to the Father.
~Jesus gives true peace and joy.

Simple truths, not believed, laughed at, ridiculed, rejected.

Then there are the believers who refuse to believe these simple truths.

~The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is real and a special Gift, imparted to whosoever will believe.
~The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to us today to build His Church.  From the 5 fold ministry to the Gifts in 1st Corinthians 12-14.
~There is no expiration date on the gifts and calling of God, they are forever, for whosoever will, receive, (accept), them.

Simple truths, not believed, laughed at, ridiculed,

It truly pains me when these simple truths are rejected by mankind, but there are other simple truths we need to recognize also.

The simple truths we find Psalm 76 for example.

Psalm 76:1-3
King James Version (KJV)
In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.   In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.   There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.”

Simple truth #1:
~In Judah is God known:

image

The word Judah simply means praise.  It was first revealed in the story of Jacob and Leah, the unloved wife.

She was the first to bear children for Jacob.  They were named for the Lords reaction to her prayers.  (Please check out the entire story).

Genesis 29:31-35  (selected parts)
King James Version (KJV)
And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.”

And Leah conceived, a son, and she called him Reuben: for, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction;”  Reuben, means, looked or saw.

And she bare a son; and said, Because the Lord heard I was hated, she called his name Simeon.”  Simeon, means heard or listened.

And she bare a son; Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, his name is called Levi.”  Levi, means joined.  (Our job as Gods Levites today is to join men to Him).

And she bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: she called his name Judah;”
Judah simply means PRAISE.

Simple truth #1
~In Praise is God known.
A Simple truth, not believed, laughed at, ridiculed, rejected by the quiet, reverent churchs.

They complain about the 7\11 choruses, not understanding, the Power of repetition for memorizing and meditation of the Word.  It seems to be ok to memorize the multiplication tables, but not the Word of God.

Singing and repeating Gods truths, builds us up in Him, makes us strong, gives us the Word in our hearts in our time of need.

To know God is to sing, tell, yell and play His PRAISE.  SHOUT UNTO GOD WITH A VOICE OF TRIUMPH.

Let the world know of His love of us and our love of Him.  We gain knowledge and power in PRAISE.

Psalm 22:3
King James Version (KJV)
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

We are Gods chosen people today.

He inhabits our Praise.

If we would learn to Praise as a church, we could see, people comming to Salvation, our families finding peace and joy, maybe even those in need  healed.

Praise shows Gods Name great.  We Magnify,   Glorify, Exult, Worship, lift high….as we humble ourselves and recognize His Majesty.

A Simple Truth #1:
~Please learn to let go and let God lead you into true praise.

As you sing and repeat Gods word, you can lose yourself in the joy and majesty, love and peace of God.

Who am I, O Lord? – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Have you ever had occasion, to ask the Lord: “Who am I?”

Moses asked that question when the Lord sent him to the Hebrews and Pharaoh.  Moses tried to change the Lords mind by reminding Him who he was.

I am just a shepard Lord, I don’t speak well, I am nobody, why would they listen to me?   I am not worthy, O Lord.  Send someone else.

Are our hearts and ears open? – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Deuteronomy 6:4-6
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

The Lord is calling us:  (We are Israel, today. His chosen.)
He has called us, to hear Him, To listen.  To use our ears for more than a hat rack.  To recognize and understand His voice. To do His will.

The Lord is telling us:
Open your hearts, receive His word, meditate, sing and pray His Word, His Commands, His Laws.  Keep them in our hearts.
Love the Lord with all your heart.  Become a love slave, yearn to learn of Him, to walk with Him, to do His work in His way, in His will and time.

Open our ears and hearts:
Only then will we receive the mercy, grace and knowledge to fulfill His will.

Finding the perfect place: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

On most of the vehicles I have owned and driven, (45+ years worth), the heater adjustment has been a sliding lever, hot to the right and cold to the left.

They have all shared the same condition.

It is impossible to adjust to a comfotable temperature.  It is either way too hot or chilling cool.

image

You carefully bring the lever to the that area, the place, where you know, it will be the perfect temperature.  (The pleasant place, a place of rest, peace and comfort).

Suddenly, it no longer slides freely.

There is an area, a place on this sliding scale, (1/4″ long), that you have to muscle through.

It is impossible to put that lever in the spot you long to find.  You drive forever, too hot, too cold, too hot, too cold.

There is no peace.  No rest.  No joy to be found.   It is a fact.  Accept it.  It is impossible to reside in, to live in, that perfect place.

In my vehicles, that is my lot in life.  Not so in Christ.

A lot of us, seem to have the same problem, in our Christian walk.  Finding that perfect place, where we know God wants us, and will use us.

We long to reside in that place, but cannot find it.  We are either too hot, (trying too hard), or too cold, (not trying at all).   We do not understand how to muscle through to this perfect place.  That is because it is a secret place.

Psalm 91:1-3
King James Version (KJV)
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

We can live in the secret place by Departing from evil.
Psalm 34:14
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Seeking the Lord:
Psalm 105:4
Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

If we seek Him we will find Him:
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

Quit seeking where you should be, what you should do, the things that you desire.

The secret of living in the secret place is:
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The secret of the secret place is:
The Lord will can use you, right where you are.
The Lord can use you, flaws and all.
The Lord loves us, even when we miss the mark.

Amen and Amen.

A sweet savour to the Lord: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

What makes a sweet savour (smell, aroma), to the Lord?  We find it mentioned 46 times in the Bible, most in the Old Testament.  All concerning burnt offerings.

The first offering was spontaneously made by Cain and Able.  (A freewill, giving back to the Lord).  Long before  the Priesthood, and formal offerings were  implemented.

It is interesting to note:
There is no mention that it was a burnt offering.
Cain was the first to bring an offering, the fruit of the ground.  Followed by Able, with a perfect lamb.
The Lord rejected Cains offering but excepted Ables.

Why?

I believe it was because Cain was proud of his accomplishments, the tilling, weeding, picking the best.  (Because of him, it was a good crop).

Where Able brought a perfect lamb, without spot or blemish, acknowledging the Lords perfect work.

After this Cain killed Able and left the presence of the Lord.   There was no sweet savour.

7 Spirits of God:

The Spiritual – As if the mystery of God wasn’t deep enough, (the Trinity), He had to add that there are seven Spirits of “God”.  (The Deity or Trinity).

image

To further complicate our understanding the word “God” in the Old Testament is from the Hebrew, Elohim and means “Creator, Supreme Ruler”, “Adoni”, also means “Supreme Ruler” (used for God or a  man who rules), and discribes The work and life of Jesus in the Old Testament.

In the New Testament the word “God” is from the Greek and means “Deity or Trinity”, and I believe discribes primarily the Father or Lord (Yahway or Jehovah) of the Old Testament, in the New.

Now the Father and Son and Spirit, are one, but with different Natures, Attributes and Characters, (explained in post, “Jesus in the Old Testament”).

the Lord preserved David: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

David defeated many Nations and the people became his servants.   And:

the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.”

image

Why and how do I get to that place of preservation?

It is so simple….but incredibly hard for we humans.

We must:
first:  deny ourselves-defeat, destroy our natural man.
second:   submit ourselves to God, learn to love and obey Him.
third:   learn to pray, praise, sing and dance to and for the Lord.

If you can do these simple things, you would be well on your way to preservation.

You would also be a better man than I.

I am naturally hard to get along with, impossible to correct and stubbornly stupid.

the things which we have seen and heard: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”  Acts 4:20

Peter and John in the Power of the Holy Spirit and in the Name of Jesus, had healed the lame man at the gate beautiful.

image

(Is anything to hard for Our God?)

By the Name of Jesus”

5,000 were added to the church because of this miracle.  Peter and John were commanded not to teach, preach or speak of Christ.  Their answer:

“But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.  For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

Wouldn’t it be nice to see 5,000 added to the church at one time?  Or experiencing:  “the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

Most of our churches are seeing a decline in attendance….not an increase.  Why?

Has the Name of Jesus become of none effect?  We pray in Jesus Name, but few are touched.  (Yes, we see some miracles, but anything note worthy)?  Not really.

How dare I say this?

Look at the church, are any being added?
Do you see 5,000?   What is the problem?

There are hundreds of verses in the Word that tell us Jesus and His Disciples healed all maner of sickness, it even states they healed all that were sick.

We” tell folks not to bring their colds to church because others will be infected.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!      .

1 Corinthians 12:28
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

Apostles, Prophets and Teachers we have plenty.  It is relatively easy to study the Word and share.  Especially if there is a spot light. (for some).

Even helps and governments are easy slots to fill….

1 Corinthians 12:30
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”

NO, NONE, NOBODY…”THOSE THINGS PASSED AWAY WITH THE APOSTLES.”

Why do we have the others then…everything should have passed if some have.

No, this kind comes by prayer and fasting.

It’s easy to talk, harder to walk, in the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Too many say, “If God wants me to speak in tongues, interpret, or heal the sick, He will give me those gifts.”

HORSE FEATHERS!!!!!!!

You were saved because you asked Him to forgive you, to become Your Lord and Savior.

He doesn’t behave any differently with the Gifts of the Spirit.  We must ask if we expect to receive.

We must be trust worthy if we expect Him to trust us with His Power.  We are not.

We don’t press into the Holy of Holies.  Seek Him and expect to receive the FAITH, to walk in His Grace.

When we fast and pray, do so just seeking more of Jesus in your life.  More Jesus in your charactor, actions, thoughts, speech.

We must become more like Jesus, crucify our old, (natural), man and let Jesus lead, guide and direct our lives.

At one point in my walk, I failed the trust worthy test.  I am determined to earn back that trust.

image

Lord, let this old, broken down Holy Spirit dispenser, fulfill Your promise to Your church.

I will become a man the Lord can use in this world today as He used the Disciples in days if old.

Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.  Amen

The promise of “whosoever”: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

The promise of “whosoever”.

image

John 3:15-17
King James Version (KJV)
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

An absolutely wonderful promise.  I have always loved that word, “whosoever”.  It means you and I and anyone, who accepts Him as Lord and Savior.

We should not perish, but have eternal life.

Wonderful, except….(why “should”)?

Should:
used in auxiliary function to express what is probable or expected
(auxiliary:  adjective
: available to provide extra help, power, etc., when it is needed)  (Webster)

That should be, is a lot diferent from will be. Couple that with “might be saved”  and it should cause us to rethink what we know as truth.

John 3:16
The foundation of Evangelical belief.  (We act like it says will not perish and will be saved).

Does it mean what we have thought all this time?   That should and might, ought to make us realize that:

Jesus did the work, we can and should be saved from sin and death, but it is all up to us, to accept His sacrifice and walk in His Grace.

It isn’t a given, what we (whosoever), do with that promise is the key.

Are you walking in the light? (The Spirit, the way,  the truth?  Have you put on His yoke?)

Are you living His new commandment?  Do we love one another?  Or just tolerate each other and their views?

If you look in your concordance for “whosoever”, we find most of the time it is used, it is speaking of those who sin, (miss the mark), do something they shouldn’t have.

Whosoever seems to usually end up dead.

What does this mean to me?

We all have a shot at Salvation, it is available, it is promised, and it is a simple blessing to acquire.

We must learn to walk in it.  He died for us because He loves us.  We must love Him, by serving.

Colossians 4:5
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”

Walking with Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

Wide is the way and narrow is the gate…..that “should and might“….ought to make us think.

image

We have the structure…(rituals, forms, traditions).  Do we allow the Spirit to lead?

Lord, help us to be open to Your guidance and love.  Help us to follow You through the narrow gate.
