O my God, I trust in thee: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Praying the Word of the Lord:

Psalm 25
King James Version (KJV)
“Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.  O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.  Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.  The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.   For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.  Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.  The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.  Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.   Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.”

Lord, hear this my prayer.  I look, trust and wait on You.  Lord, remember Your words, forgive me,  supply our needs.  You are my Savior, Lord, Shepherd, Provider and my ever present help in times of trouble.

The time is now.

the ways of man: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD:”

Proverbs 5 deals with sexual sin.  This sin seems to be right up there with rejection of Jesus, as Lord and Savior.

Why?  Because woman was made explicitly for man and man for woman.  One for One.

image

The Lord demands we be true to Him, that we have NO OTHER GODS BEFORE US.  He is a jealous God.   He expects us to be true to the one He gave us to love, and true to Him.

If we aren’t true to the one we love on earth, we cannot be true to the One above.  As we wonder away from one, we are sliding away from the Other.

Proverbs: 5. 21-23
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.   His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.   He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

In the greatness of our folly, we go astray.

We can look, but not touch.  We can touch, just this once. Twice will not hurt, it will not become a habit.

Till we are lost.  Stay true to the Lord and your earthly love.  You will find peace and joy forever more.

Lord, help us to love, as you love.

I have no delight in thee; – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Have you ever considered, that the Lord will say:  “I have no delight in thee;

You know there will be believers, who will hear: “Depart from Me, I never knew you.”

How can this be?  Will He say it to you?  Why would He say this to believers?

We see why, in the story of the Talents. (Mathew 25).  The Master left His servants Talents, (money?),  those who increased those Talents were blessed, those who buried them heard, “Depart”.  When the Master returned.

image

We are usually taught the Talents were money.   Did He leave you any money?  I didn’t think  so.

Are you a servant of Jesus?

Do you really think the Talents He left are in knowing how to invest, how to make money?

NO,  …..  HE LEFT US, (sent  us), HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

He would have us increase in our ability to walk in His will, by the Power and Grace of the Holy Spirit.

He would have signs and wonders following those who believe.  He promised they would, why don’t they?

WE HAVE BURIED THE HOLY SPIRITS GIFTS.

He gave us His Holy Spirit,  a lot of churches acknowledge the existence of, but deny the power, gifts and works of Him today.   They are burying the Talents He would have us increase.

There is a time, when we will be asked, how we increased His Kingdom, by the use of His Gifts.

Please, …  SEEK THE BEST GIFTS.

The gifts needed for today, it may be the Gift of Faith, or Healings, Miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of spirits, Words of Wisdom or Knowledge.

Or heaven forbid the Gift of tongues, (so you have a better prayer life, in private with God.

Or tongues and interpretation to exhort and comfort your brothers in Christ in public.

Read the whole word, Paul says:  SEEK YE THE BEST GIFTS.  Just use them in love.

Will the Lord have delight in us?

2 Samuel: 15. 26.
But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.”

This scripture is from the time King David is fleeing from his son Absolom.  He sent the Ark of the Lord back to Jerusalem.

Declaring he would wait and see whether the Lord allowed him to  see it again or not.

David was rewarded because of his faith and his life of repentance.

We will be rewarded because of our faith, life of repentance and our obedience in loving God and each other, by supplying their needs.

Both by physical means, food, clothes, financial help and by Spiritual means, Words of comfort, grace, direction.  Healings and Miracles.

image

Be a Holy Spirit dispenser.  Meet the needs of others.

He will give His Gifts to those who can be trusted to use them for His Glory.  Is that you?

“According to your faith be it unto you.”

All of one blood: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Acts 17
“For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.”

A Church on every corner.  Baptist, Primitive Baptist, Free Will Baptist, Original Free Will Primitive Baptist.   (?lol?)

UMC, AME, PHC, UPC,….Episcopal, Community, Catholic…..whatever…

Democrat, Libertarian, Republican……

Than there are differences of race, creed, colors, left handed, right handed, blue eyed, brown eyed, pink eyed….

image

(People are different, but all the  same.)

WHO CARES?  (Can’t we just get along)?

God that made the world and all things therein

With  all the ways we seek to devide ourselves.   It seems a strange thing today, to realize we are all:  “made of one blood, all nations of men, for to dwell on all the face of the earth, That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:”   Acts 17:26a,27

ONE BLOOD, ALL NATIONS, TO DWELL ON THE EARTH TO SEEK THE LORD.

So as we segregate ourselves in Worship, Politics and every other way we can imagine, God commands us to love one another.

Why can’t we get along?   Genisis 11.

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.”

Genesis 11:5-8
King James Version (KJV)
And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

The Lord scattered us.  It is natural.  We can’t do things as one, because we don’t understand each other.

So, we need to quit trying to be one, and agree to love as one.  Live in harmonious differences.

We should be able to agree to disagree.  We are one in the blood of Christ.  That is enough unity.

image

Now go out and share Jesus, not your church, not the preacher, not our programs, or personalities ….  it is all about Jesus and His blood, that is what we share.

That is what makes us one.

whatsoever he doeth shall prosper : The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

“whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Who is he?  Do you know him?  Is he you?

Some people appear to sail through life, like Midas, everything they put their hand to, turns to gold.

They are full of the joy of the Lord, they are givers, they love life, and everyone they meet, loves them, they are content, kind, and forgiving.

(The rest of us, hate them.   lol)

These people seem to thrive, as the rest of the world struggles.

image

Could I be more like them?  Is there a secret only they know?  Are they special in the Lords sight?  Is there a way to join them?

Is it possible that I could be he

Is there a way that:  “whatsoever I doeth shall prosper?”  If you believe the word, YES.  We must first take control of where we sit, stand and walk.

Psalm 1
King James Version (KJV)
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Walking in the counsel of the ungodly.
The worldly view of what to do.  It is ok to…?   You don’t take medical advice from your tax guy.  Don’t rely on the world for Spiritual counsel, (walk in worldly wisdom).

Don’t hang, (stand), around with sinners.
Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners.  Yes, He did.  He did not join them in their sin, He led them in the  way of repentance.

Don’t Sit in the seat  of the Scornful.
Do not think you are better, smarter, more qualified than those doing the work.  You aren’t.  We must judge Godly judgement.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Delighting in the law of the Lord.
Love the Lord, love thy neighbour,  pray, sing, rest, believe, act on the Word in love.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

You will be like a tree, nourished, fruitful, evergreen, prosperous.
God will supply all your needs, you will do His work, souls will be saved, you will overcome the wicked one.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

The destination of the non-believers.
The ungodly and sinners, will not stand in the judgement, or with the righteous in fellowship.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

image

Will, “whatsoever you do prosper”?   It is up to you.  Love, believe, trust in and act on the Word.

An old love remembered: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Reading Jonathan Caswell’s “By the Mighty Mumford” blog, reminded me of a much loved hobby.

Model Trains:  Twenty years ago,  Because of lack of room elsewhere in our home,  I had a model train setup, inside my piano. (On top of the harp).

image

My wife helped me build and paint the mountain and even came up with the pine trees.  The buildings are all paper models.

It was wonderful to have a world I could control.  lol

image

We enjoyed it for many years and even took it to a few local train shows.  (notice the attempt to enlarge with the mirror)

image

                (My sweetie 20+-years ago)
After moving to the home we are in now, I found an old worn out baby grand I planned to strip down and use for permanent layout.

image

I ran out of steam after getting it prepared and finally turned it into my planter.
image

That is why we have a piano planter in our front yard.

the earth abideth for ever. – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Ecclesiastes 1:4
King James Version (KJV)
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

We somehow think, we are bigger than God.  We are destroying the earth.  Our actions are causing irreparable damage.

Really?

Take a tour on google earth to Japan and check out the cities we destroyed in WWII.

Than check out Detroit, USA.  (government policy,  much more destructive).

I can bring you to where towns in NY State, used to be…you’ll see trees and a few brick walls, maybe buried trash, but no other signs of human habitation.

We don’t credit God with creation, or think He knows what we will do.

Psalm 24:1-3
King James Version (KJV)
The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.  Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?

Yes, keep the water and air clean, don’t trash up where you live.  BUT, Don’t think you can harm the earth, beyond God’s ability to rehabilitate it.

Our Lord God is an Awesome God.

there is more hope of a fool: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

When I married the love of my life, 31 years ago, I was confounded and confused.

She didn’t know she was supposed to fix breakfast daily.

That lunch could be soup and a cold sandwich once in a while, (but that’s not a real meal).

Dinner was meat, potatos and vegetables.
Unless it was a special occasion.  Then it was pizza.

Who brought up this women?  She hadn’t a clue how to eat.  She wouldn’t even make gravy.

O the horrors of married life.  What did I do?  What did I do?  What could I do?

I did the only thing I could.  Adapted, Improvised, Overcame.

image

                         (What a turkey)
I got my own breakfast, ate what was served, and liked it.  (lol)

A harsh reality was learned.  Not all families follow the same rules, think alike, or do things the same way.

Over the years it became apparent that our families were different in other ways also.  Bette’s family were all Born Again Christians.

I was raised in the Catholic Church and had only been saved for 4 years before we were married.   Bette’s family had a joy in life.

My family enjoyed sarcasm, biting words, we found joy,
in one-upmanship.

I hate it when I do that now, (and I do, on occasion). I get that Rachel Maddow smile, when I think I’ve been clever.  I wasn’t.

James wrote:
in many things we offend all.”

I am sorry to say, in many ways on many days I have offended all.  You would think an adult male would control his words.

James had more:
Even so the tongue is a little member,”
But the tongue can no man tame.”

He asks:
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

This is my latest folly.  PRIDE…   Of who I think I am, Of what I think I know, Of where I think I should be in the class room.

That’s right, no meek and mild submission.  I must let everyone know, how much I know, how big a fool I am.

image

One-upmanship….a hateful trait.

Proverbs 29:20
King James Version (KJV)
Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

If I could only learn to be quiet.

Proverbs 17:28
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

Amen

the path of the just: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

As Christians are we on the path of the just?  Are we even aware of what path we are on?

Do we realize that people are following us, even people we don’t know?

Our lives, actions, comments, attitudes are on open display, to influence lives around us.  Do people see kindness, love, grace under pressure?  Are we honest, do we have integrity, are we moral, responsible, God like people?

image

Are we a shining light, that gets brighter as the days go by?   Are we closer to God today then yesterday?

People see and follow us.  Let us walk in the light, so people are led to the light.  Too often in my life, I’ve led to the dark side.

Proverbs 4:18
Amplified Bible (AMP)
But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].

Lord, help me to walk in the light.  Help me to be uncompromising, just and righteous.

Erased History – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

I have been watching amazed, as the people of this once great country, attempt to erase its past.

From the confederate flag, statues of great leaders, (on the wrong side of the issue), and public buildings names, even if it’s the name that is offensive, ( the Lynch building at a collage), not any thing they did.

This morning I heard the country of England is going through the same insanity.

image

You can paint an  old barn, it may   look better, but it’s still an old barn.

Apparently we have begun to think, it hasn’t happened, if you cannot see or hear of it.

Folks there is only one way to erase history.

It works only on personal history and only with one entity.

Father God.

Accept the Son, (Jesus), as Lord and Saviour,
and the Father, forgives you and remembers your sin no more.

Psalm 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

As you walk with Jesus, the Father sees you through the sacrificial blood of the only begotten.

Your past is gone, you are sinless, holy and acceptable.

On the other hand.  You may make the symbols of our Nations past dissapear from view, but  it’s History hasn’t changed.

You are just living in denial.

image

If you live in Christ, you do erase the sin and shame of your personal history, with the One that matters, and a new you lives on.

Lord, please help us to understand and to change the truly important.  To accept and learn from our corporate history not to repeat it.
