As Christians, we all read the same Bible. Whether it’s KJV, NIV, or any number of other translations, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I am curious about Your Personal Bible. I have heard that Thomas Jefferson cut out the parts of the Bible he didn’t accept, and lived by the parts he believed.

We may not go to that extreme but, we all do much the same. Denominational Differences. Every tribe has core values that differ from the church that came before. Catholic to Lutheran to Baptist, Methodist to Pentecostal. They agree on the basics, Virgin birth, death resurrection, salvation.

Then the differences begin to appear. Born Again, just believe and confess, Baptisms, water and Spirit, Gifts, and rituals.

Our Church does it correctly, we wonder if you other guys are even saved?

We all believe in and on Jesus as Lord and Savior, where do we run into problems? We don’t really believe what Jesus promised. Why are we so hard-headed?

Open our eyes, Lord. Help us to understand that which is important and to know what isn’t.

Whether

As Christians, we Worship, Believe in, Rely On, and Love the Lord of the New Testament. Jesus the Christ. Is He the same Lord of the Old Testament? No.

In the Old Testament, the Word for Lord is Jehovah or Yahwey, from the Hebrew who were forbidden to pronounce the Name of God. It means: THE ETERNAL ONE, THE EXISTENT ONE

In the New Testament the word for Lord is Kurios, it means, Supreme in Authority, Controler, God, Lord, Master

The Lord of the NT, gave His life to be a Blood Sacrifice for the Lord of the OT so that we might be saved. So who was the Lord of the OT?

He IS the Father who gave His only begotten Son, to be the Savior to all who would believe.

The first chapter of the Bible stars God, (Elohim, the Creator, Supreme Ruler of all.

In the second and third chapters we fine The Lord God mentioned. He was there and a part of Creation. Man was created in their image. The Lord God called where are you?

When they hid after sin. God asked, ‘Who told you, you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of Knowledge?’ (Genisis 3:11)

So the Lord God sent them out of the Garden. God had the Angels guarding the Tree of Life.

In Chapter 4, the Lord comes into His own:

The Lord gave Eve the son she had been promised. (Genisis 4:1)

Cain brought an offering of crops he had harvested to the Lord, his brother Able brought a perfect lamb the Lord had given him.

The Lord rejected Cains offering, told him if he did well, it will be lifted up, if evil, sin is at the door. Ables’s blood was calling out from the ground and the Lord cursed Cain.

He would till the ground for no results, he would be a wanderer and fugitive on the earth.

Cain said the punishment was too great and left the presence of the Lord.

We find God giving Eve, Seth, and his son Enosh. Then people began to worship the Lord. (Genesis 4:25-26)

Have you ever wondered why Jesus called Himself, ‘The Son of Man?’ Could it have been intentional, His wanting those around Him to understand that He was just like them? Tempted, tried, yet a man who loves God?

The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary with the seed of Abraham and of David.

Hebrews 2:16-18

“For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.”

Romans 1:3-4

“Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:”

(Romans 1:3; Galatians 3:16; 2 Timothy 2:7; John 7:42; Revelation 1:13;14:14)

Impregnated by the Holy Spirit, with the seed of a man. Not some otherworldly seed of God, but mans seed, so He was all mam. He became the firstborn Son of God, the only begotten at the Resurrection. (Ps 2:7; Hebrews 1:5)

Why is this important? I have heard it said that He was the Son of God, implying that, that was how He was able to suffer and die for us.

Yes, He is the Son of God, but in His time walking among us, He was the Son of Man. He was sinless and able to give Himself only because of the Holy Spirit within. He was baptized in the Holy Spirit at His Baptism of Obedience.

Hebrews 2:9-10

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for who are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

He was displaying the Power of the Holy Spirit, that is available to us for the building of His Church.

As God, He was the Creator and Supreme Ruler. 1 Corinthians 12 tells us He was the operations manager, that the Holy Spirit was the manifestation of God’s Power.

As a man, He showed us the Power we would have when we surrendered ourselves unto Him. He sent His Holy Spirit and His Gifts for the building of His Church.

As the Church has left behind His Spirit, we have become quite powerless. I believe He referred to Himself as The Son of Man, so that we would understand the power and grace of the Holy Spirit.

To me, it makes His Sacrifice so much more powerful.

The Church has become, the hometown of Jesus. we marvel at His wisdom and power, we are astonished b His healings and miracles.

Oh, we Christians see miracles all around us. The heathens see life going by.

In Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

We believe that He is with us, strengthening us, helping us, upholding us by His right hand. We are not dismayed, discouraged, hopeless.

Yet, we believe in Jesus, but do not believe Jesus. He said we would heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out evil spirits. Instead, we seem to entertain the evil spirits, enjoy our maladies, and ignore all the dead in Christ, who live among us.

Miracles, signs and wonders, acts of God, should be visible, active participants in our Church. The Lord did the miraculous for a reason.

Isaiah 41:20

“That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.”

When John’s disciples came to ask if Jesus was the one? He answered tell him what you have seen. Not what was said, but be an eye witness, to see is to believe.

The Power of God is available to those who believe.

Deuteronomy 29:29

“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

We must believe His Word, not just in Him, but BELIEVE HIM!

Warning, this post will upset some.

Romans 13:1

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

We as a country, run by jokers, have allowed morons to riot and destroy our cities and private property.

Yes, George Floyd was murdered and justice needs to be served. The man who resisted arrest in Atlanta? A sad occurrence, justice again must prevail.

Peaceful Protests are good, as soon as it swerves into violence, those who want peace should leave.

The rioters should be stopped, by any means necessary.

If you are resistant to authorities, do not come crying to me. Take your case to court, peacefully. Resolve your differences like an intelligent human.

If we allow Him, the Lord will determine the outcome.
