Paul wrote the Jews have an advantage over all other people because they had the Word of the Lord. The Promise of God:
“After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.‘” (Genesis 15:1)
That is our Word also, the Lord is our help and our shield, our sun, and shield, he gives us grace and glory, no good thing will He withhold, from them who walk uprightly. (Ps 84)
As Christians, the Word of God is our secret weapon. So secret most Christians don’t know it or how to use it.
It amazes me that we know we must believe and confess to be saved, yet fail to believe and confess for healing, for fear, uncertainty, financial and other people’s problems.
The Word is quick, powerful, and sharper than a double-edged sword. (Hebrews 4:12). It can discern our thoughts and intents.
When we pray, do we believe and pray the promises in the Word? Psalms 23, 84, 115, 91. All have promises we can and should pray.
One I pray for myself is Psalm 51, Create in me a clean heart, renew a right spirit within me. The Lord can and will answer the prayers of His saints.
If we pray according to His will. Not prayers for selfish, prideful reasons, but instead, for His will to be done, His glory to be revealed.
We have access to His blessings, power, grace, and love by knowing His Word and will.
Do we believe it?
Romans 3:1-4
‘Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God? May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written,
“That you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgment.”‘
Do we have faith, will our words prevail, will we be justified?
We have been entrusted with His Word, to share, to teach, to fight and be victorious over our enemies. Are we conversant in the Word of Faith? The good news of the Gospel?
