one thing I know: – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

One thing I know. …

If there was only one thing I knew, it would be the fact that Jesus saved me and gave me a new life.  This scripture,  is the statement of a man born blind.

John 9:25
King James Version (KJV)
“He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”

What is it that gives us that confidence,

that ability to know, to have an unshakable faith, to be unmoved when others doubt and question.

Personal Knowledge,  Experience,  Revelation.

When we see with our own eyes, can touch with our own hands, or our hearts and minds have received the Revelation that Jesus is alive and has come to give us grace and peace in our everyday lifes.  That is when we know.

The woman who Elijah stayed with, had oil and flour that never ran out, they had food when there was lack all around.  It still took the raising of her dead son, for her to acknowledge Elijah as special.

1 Kings 17:24
King James Version (KJV)
And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.”

What will it take for us to know?  Is the provision of the Lord not enough?  Psalm 19:1 says.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”

Why do we not see and believe?   Most of us need more, seeing the Creation should show us the Creator and for those who can see, they recognize God.

Most of us need more, we need that personal touch as Christ becomes active in our lives.  We need to learn how to exercise that measure of faith all men have, the ability to accept His love and forgiveness.

The necessity to humble ourselves and acknowledge His Preeminence, His Majesty, His Lordship of all.  As we do this, we recognize these further truths.

Psalm 41:11
King James Version (KJV)
“By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.”

Psalm 56:9
King James Version (KJV)
“When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.”

This applies to both the enemy without and within.  He is for us and will give us the ultimate victory, if we learn to:  “Submit ourselves unto God, resist the devil and he will flee.”
