“the father of a fool hath no joy.” – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

Proverbs 17:21
King James Version (KJV)
“He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.”

My poor father could not of had any joy during my teenage years.  There was never a bigger fool then me, before Christ.  Sex, Booze, Drugs, Rock and Roll.

I had absolutely no respect for authority,

rules, laws, religion….even when I was first saved, I  wasn’t impressed  with Gerald Derstine, (founder of Christian Retreat) and Arnold Smith,  ( head of the Institute of Ministry  and Pastoral Training School).

As I grew in the Lord, I learned to love and respect these Godly men and all the staff at Christian Retreat in Bradenton, Fla.

I found the Lord, went to the schools and worked on the grounds for three years.

I believe the Lord brought me there and set me free.  I  was taught to rely on the Word, not Church Doctrine.

I suddenly had an appreciation for my folks, the military, our government  (Reagan was President ), we could be proud to be American,  I  was proud to belong to Christ.

I wish I had made my folks proud but they were convinced I was in a cult.   They were Catholics, I only hope they asked the Lord into their lives at the end.

I am so pleased that the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful Godly wife and daughter.  Neither of them fools.

Somehow and for no reason, Jesus came into my life, forgave me and lifted me from the muck and set me on the Solid Rock.

Thank You Lord, help me to be a vessel for Your Love and Grace to a dieing world.
