If ye continue in the faith: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

“If ye continue in the faith”

Why do you think he put an “if” at the beginning of this thought?

image

Colossians 1:23
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

If we continue, means we might not continue.  If we aren’t continuing, it means we once were.

So once saved “Is Not,” always saved.

It is by far more fearful, (for me), to think I might not be truly saved, then knowing I have the free will to turn my back and leave God.

If the prodigal son had stayed away, he would have been a son who was lost.  Not because God rejected him, but that he had rejected the rights and privileges of His rank.  (A son, of the King).

We must become:  “grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel,

To become grounded and settled, is to dig down to the solid rock and building a firm foundation, (read, memorize, meditate, understand, believe and act on the Word), then we can withstand, the storms and trials of life.

We will: “not moved away from the hope of the gospel,

Saints please:
•   Do not practice sin, believing you are ok, because you are saved.

•  Do not believe you cannot sin, because you are saved.

•  Do not think you need not repent, to return to God.

Satan hath desired to have you: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

It was time for the Passover meal.  Jesus had this Word of Knowledge for Peter.

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:”

We need to consider it as a word of warning for us today.  Satan has a desire, to make us doubt, question, wonder, and walk away from the love of God.   Satan sifts us, and the Lord allows it.

Why?

So we consider, understand and know how strong our love is for the Lord and His for us.   He already knows the outcome.

He allows us to be tested so we understand the depth, width, length and breadth of  our love and trust for Him.

He wants us to know and agree with the three Hebrew children, that the true God is able to deliver us from our fiery furnace.

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” (Daniel 3)

God is able to deliver, God will deliver, If God doesn’t deliver, we will still serve Him.  What a testimony.

Jesus did not stop at the warning though, He also added:

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

Know this; in the midst of the fire, Jesus never leaves us or forsakes us, He walks with us, even carries us in that furnace

As we look to Him, the Author an finisher of our faith we become stronger, able to strengthen others, in their times of need.

When tested, it seems there is no end, it is hopeless, we are lost, alone in a hell that is forever.

Look to the hills from whence comes our help.  Lord, open our eyes to see Your mighty army that surrounds and fights for us.

There is light and life at the end of the tunnel. Keep your eyes on Jesus, trust in Him to see you through.  He is FAITHFUL.

DEATH BY CRUCIFIXION AND CHRIST: by MARTINA KREITZER

I found this on FB,  thought you might find it interesting.

DEATH BY CRUCIFIXION AND CHRIST
02.20.15
Posted in…Ink Slingers | Lent | Liturgical Year | Martina
by: Martina Kreitzer
I came across the following anatomical and physiological details of death by Dr. C. Truman Davis that breaks down death by crucifixion and in particular how it applied to Christ and what He endured. His analysis was published in Arizona Medicine in 1965.

Crucifixion was invented by the Persians in 300 BC, and perfected by the Romans in 100 BC.
It is the most painful death ever invented by man and is where we get our term “excruciating.” {Latin, excruciatus, or “out of the cross”}
It was reserved primarily for the most vicious of male criminals. Jesus refused the anaesthetic wine which was offered to Him by the Roman soldiers because of His promise in Matthew 26: 29, “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”

MY LUST SHALL BE SATISFIED : The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

MY LUST SHALL BE SATISFIED:

The problem, since Adam, of the whole earth, lies herein.  LUST.

This is the first mention of LUST in the Bible.

Exodus 15:9
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.”

(So said the Egyptians, as they followed the Hebrews, into the Red Sea).

Most of us think of LUST as being a  SEX only, problem.  It is not.  It  is an I problem.

I will, I will, I will, MY, I will, MY.

“I”, has been the problem from the Garden on:

1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

Such a simple thing:  Do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

“I think, it looks tasty, I think, it will make us wise, I think, it will make us like God.”

I MUST, SATISFY MY LUST FOR MORE:

For us to conquer the LUST problem,  we must  conquer the “I” problem.

WE MUST:
<  Realize, (know), our un-Godly desires.
<  Believe, the Lord will help us.
<  Understand, the victory over "I" is ours.

The Lord promises in Isaiah:

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

The Lords counters our “I” problem, with the Truth and Power, of the GREAT I AM,  not the LUST of man.

I am, I am, I will, I will,I will:

with you, thy God, stregthen you, help you, uphold you.

Lord, help me to Submit to You and flee the LUST OF MY EYES, LUST OF MY FLESH AND THE PRIDE OF LIFE.

These are the temptations of the natural man, my desire is to be the Spiritual Man You have called me to be.

Lord, hear my plea!!!  LORD HELP!!!

choose you this day – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

choose you this day whom ye will serve;”

The choice that affects our eternal residence.  The most important choice, we will ever make.  To serve God or self.  (Joshua 24:15)

It’s our other choices, the little things, that cause us daily grief or give us peace and joy.

I wonder how the choices we made today will affect our tomorrow.

Choices I made just after finding Christ, (35+ years ago), are the root of my concerns today.

Pauls confession from Romans 9:1-2, could be my own today.

I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,   That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.”

He was concerned over Isreal, who had not understood that Christ had redeemed them from the law of sin and death.

My concern is more personal.  “The sin that so easily besets me.”

A tiny thing, secretly holding on to something that displeaed my Lord and Savior.

Such a small thing, who  thought it would be:  “a root of bitterness springing up to trouble, and thereby defile; – and it also laid upon me hard bondage:
image

This little thing, all grown up, and choking the life, joy, peace and hope out of me.

Saints, don’t let the little foxes, “the little foxes, that spoil the vines:”  grow up to steal your victory.

When the Lord delivers you, DO NOT HOLD ON TO ANYTHING…   Give it up to God, let Him have it.  You really do not need it, it will hurt you in the end.

choose you this day

Choose to give your all to the Lord, choose to follow Him.  Let Him have it all now, life will be better in the future.

2 Corinthians 1:10
King James Version (KJV)
Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;”

He will continue to love and deliver us, as long as we are willing.  He can deliver us totally at the first, if we allow Him.  Over time, if He must.

He promises to keep us blameless.

1 Corinthians 1:8
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless

in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
