MY LUST SHALL BE SATISFIED : The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

The problem, since Adam, of the whole earth, lies herein.  LUST.

This is the first mention of LUST in the Bible.

Exodus 15:9
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.”

(So said the Egyptians, as they followed the Hebrews, into the Red Sea).

Most of us think of LUST as being a  SEX only, problem.  It is not.  It  is an I problem.

I will, I will, I will, MY, I will, MY.

“I”, has been the problem from the Garden on:

1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

Such a simple thing:  Do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

“I think, it looks tasty, I think, it will make us wise, I think, it will make us like God.”

For us to conquer the LUST problem,  we must  conquer the “I” problem.

<  Realize, (know), our un-Godly desires.
<  Believe, the Lord will help us.
<  Understand, the victory over "I" is ours.

The Lord promises in Isaiah:

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

The Lords counters our “I” problem, with the Truth and Power, of the GREAT I AM,  not the LUST of man.

I am, I am, I will, I will,I will:

with you, thy God, stregthen you, help you, uphold you.

Lord, help me to Submit to You and flee the LUST OF MY EYES, LUST OF MY FLESH AND THE PRIDE OF LIFE.

These are the temptations of the natural man, my desire is to be the Spiritual Man You have called me to be.

Lord, hear my plea!!!  LORD HELP!!!

Thanks for visiting. Come back soon.
Know you are loved.

  1. First thing I noticed which blessed me is that LUST is not only a Sex problem but a SELFISH ‘I’ issue and that gives me all the answers I need. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I so identify with Gideon slinking around in the dark so he can avoid confronting the ENEMY. Avoid. Be safe. Don’t rock the boat. Like the anxious chihuahua shivering and quaking in a corner, back to the wall. But the Angel of the Lord addressed Gideon as a mighty warrior of God. As Graham Cooke says, God addresses us in our present future not our past. Our past is not who we are in Christ. Our past is part of the journey that enables us us speak into the lives of those on a similar journey. God’s grace and overcoming power in our circumstances gives us credibility and authority to address these same issues others struggle with and equip us, like Jesus, to be perfected in our pain to assume the priesthood role with sensitivity and compassion.

Thanks for this post! I needed your encouragement from the Isaiah passage! “-)
