as many as touched him: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

as many as touched him were made whole.”

This is the last line of Mark 6.  We know of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, who pushed through the crowd to touch the hem of the garment of Jesus.

Virtue went out of Him, she was healed.  Here in Mark 6, we find a whole town that knew to touch the hem of His garment.

As many as touched Him “were made whole.”

(We strut around, missing Gods best).

This is a lesson we as Christians need to learn, we pray Lord touch us, heal us, provide for us.  When the key to all we need, to finding peace, joy and healing, comfort, having our needs met are in learning to touch His garment.

Mark 6:556
King James Version (KJV)
And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.”

So how do we learn to touch Him?  It seems hard, imposible, you have to be special like  Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua, the Prophets, Daniel, the 3 Hebrew children, David.

All great men of faith.  How can we live up to the examples of these special men of God.  They aren’t alone,  you are special also.

Deuteronomy 7:6
For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.”

Yes, He was speaking to the Hebrews, the Jews, those He delivered out of bondage, slavery….

Well, who are you?  Were you not delivered from being a slave to sin, brought into a new land?

Read this chapter, find out what to do, now that “you are special to God.”  The Lord is very explicit,  the old man must die, the new man immerge, victorious.  This chapter is a road map to walking with God.

All these peoples He would have us defeat are the sin natures we were born with, the temptations of the world, the sin that draws us away from God.  It must be crucified.

The secret to being special, holy, accepted is;  “It isn’t a secret.”

All these great men of faith, were just men, like you and I.

They all became great men of faith, because of different characteristics or innate natural traits that are in all men.

You say: “See they had a natural ability,  something that made them special, different, holy, full of faith and power.”

NO, LISTEN UP….They were men, just like you and I.  For that matter Jesus, was a man, tried in all things, just like you and I.  He said: “These things I do you shall do and more.”

It is up to us to figure out what we need to do to walk in the grace and power of a holy God.

David, was a man after Gods heart.  His desire was to please God, worship and praise God.  He wrote, told us how he lived, sinned, repented and became Isreals greatest king.  A man just like us….only determined to please God.

Daniel, the 3 Hebrew children.  They were determined not to defile themselves with the Kings food, or to Worship, pray or believe in any other God.  Men, just like us.

Abraham believed God,  Moses obeyed God, walked in His ways, the Prophets listened, obeyed and proclaimed Gods word.  Enoch and Noah learned  to walk with God.

All of these people were men, like you and I, the only difference is, they absolutely, believed God is and knew He would bless those who sought, found and obeyed Him.

They knew how to repent, to ask  forgiveness when they failed and then got back to business. To walking in the light they were given.

We all have the power, (the Holy Spirit), to become mighty men of faith.  Like Salvation, the Lord would have all to be saved, only a few answer His call.

That isn’t the end of our journey….We are chosen, given the opportunity to enter into an incredible place, a special place, a place accessable to all, but only a few reach.

Psalm 65:4
King James Version (KJV)
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

We are the chosen, God said we should enter  into the Holy of Holies boldly, to find Grace, (Salvation) and Mercy (Gods unmerited forgiveness, love, joy, peace), in our times of need.

If we were to dwell in His courts, the Holy of Holies is just a step away.

It is up to you.  The spot, the ability to rest  on the breast of Jesus is ours,  His arms are open, welcoming, waiting for us to seek Him, to learn to touch the hem of His garment.

He is within reach right now.  Will you push through  the junk in your life and touch Him.  It is all up to you.
