The Helper: – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

I need help.  I am a saved sinner.  I know and love my Savior,  Jesus.

He lived and died for me, He sits at the right hand of the Father and the Father accepts me as worthy of heaven, because of my Lords shed blood.

Why do I fail to live a better life, a holy life, a caring life, a sinless life?  Because I  need help.

Where do I find help, that …. actually helps?  David had the right idea.

Psalm 121:1
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.”

Psalm 121:2
“My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”

Psalm 30:10
“Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper.”

David, the man after Gods own heart, cries out for the help he needs.  Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Strength to Repent. …

Do you have the Strength to Repent?   (Admit your pride, lust, greed, hate, ignorance)?

It takes strength to cry out for help.  To admit God is bigger than ” ME, MYSELF and I”.

Times have changed.   Before Jesus, when looking for help, man had to look without.

Jesus, told us help would soon come from within.

Many have ignored or refused to acknowledge the helper within.

John 14:15-17
King James Version (KJV)
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

I know we never would have accepted Jesus as Lord except the Spirit drew us.

The Spirit is within, Jesus was with them, after the Resurrection, He would return in Spirit form, to live within.

If you have accepted Him as Lord and Savior He dwells within.  The Comforter is within us,  do we allow Him to guide, direct and protect us.

Or are we still walking in our own wisdom and ways, continuing as our own worst enemy?

John 14:25-27
King James Version (KJV)
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Are we allowing the Comforter to teach us?  Have the Scriptures come alive?  Do you see, understand the meaning?  Are you motivated to act on that knowledge?

Are you at peace in the midst of the storm that is your life?  Do you know the peace that passes understanding?

John 15:26
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:”

The Comforter draws us closer to Jesus,  He is the Resurrected Jesus, in Spirit form living within us.  The Baptism of the Spirit is just the bursting forth of the Spirit from the depths of our hearts.

John 16:7-8
King James Version (KJV)
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

It was the Spirit that caused us to recognize our Sin.  It is the Spirit that makes us the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.   It is the Spirit that causes the world to recognize the Judgement of God, the Love and Grace of God, in our lives.

Hebrews 13:5-6
King James Version (KJV)
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

The Lord indeed is our helper.   Do we allow Him to guide, teach, direct and protect us?
