For Faith is not passive. – The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

James 2:26
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

For Faith is not passive but demands action.

What measure of faith have you received?  Can we increase our faith?   What does it mean to be a faithful servant?

What is the work of a living faith?

(My daughter had faith that Fritz would be Eyor for Holloween.  He didn’t cooperate for long.  Not living, working faith).

How about:

Going to Church 3 times a week? Bible study, a mens, womans, teen, alcoholic, marriage group or a  Prayer group?

Cleaning the Church, driving people to all the above, being busy for the Lord?

Theses are all good things but are not a measure of a living faith.  A good and willing heart, sure but missing the mark.

Jesus told Martha, that:  “Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

I believe the first step to a living faith,  is sitting at the feet of Jesus.

We can be so busy doing good things that we miss the opportunity to do the one thing that makes an eternal difference.

John 6:29
King James Version (KJV)
“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent”

Our example went about doing good, touching, changing lives.

“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

John 10:38
King James Version (KJV)
though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I  in him”

John 14:12
King James Version (KJV)
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

To do the work of faith is first to believe on him, this is different than in him.  He is not just a piece of history. …He is and He is a rewarder of those who diligently  seek Him. (Yesterday, today and forever ).

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”

We must walk with, in obedience to, not trying to do everything,  but the one thing, meet the needs of one who needs prayer, financial help, comfort, healing, words of wisdom or knowledge.

Touch those that He brings into our life at this moment.

James 1:26-27
King James Version (KJV)
“If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Start at His feet (learning )
》Put on His Yoke (the mind of Christ)
》Go about doing good (let your life be a light house, guiding the lost to safety in Jesus ).

I believe living faith is that simple.  Allowing the Holy Spirit to touch lives with the love, grace and provision of the Lord through us.

James 2:26

For Faith is not passive but demands action.
