“Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.”

Scriptures in this post are from Acts 11.

Now- scattered because of persecution of Stephen, they traveled as far as Antioch, preaching to the Jews.

“And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.   And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.”

Some even preached to the non-Jewish. ….they believed also.  “Then”

“Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.  Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:”

Barnabas once again to the rescue  (see “To be like Barnabas “).   They had to know, what’s going on.   He confirmed The same Lord had blessed them.  So why go find Paul?

“And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.”

Paul was called to lead them in “The Way”.  Yes, they were saved,  full of the Holy Spirit,  loved Jesus but needed someone to guide them in the right way.   Other men of God also, not just the original preachers and teachers, came to enlighten.

Is your church going in the right way?  I am sure you love the Lord and are full of the Holy Spirit .

Are you teaching your people how to know God and how to walk in His light?  

I see so many, who love God but don’t know how to be closer to, accept His truth, be in His will.

We need to accept that other men of God,  if their  teachings lines up with the Word, (not necessarily our understanding of same), may help us to grow,     we nred to listen and seek God, to confirm the truth. (Be open to Revelation and correction).

In Bible School, we had teachings on pre, mid and post tribulation theory.   They are all just theorys as climate change and evolution are just theorys.

Please allow your congratulations to see all the Word of God.  Even the parts that drive you nuts because it disagrees with how you think it should be.

Agree on these basic truths:
~virgin birth
~death and resurrection
~sits at the right hand
~sent the Holy Spirit to teach and guide to all truth.

Then let The Holy Spirit loose in your church.
