Isaiah 59:18
” So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.”

How do you read this verse?   In the KJV it reads:
   ” the enemy shall come in like a flood, “

The enemy is overwhelming, defeating, drowning us. 

We are overpowered, then the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

Eventually the Spirit of the Lord comes to the rescue, like the calvary of old, just in time.

Oh happy day!

Reading through several  different translations, we find it could read:
   ” the enemy shall come in,  like a flood  the Spirit of the Lord  shall lift up a standard against him. “

Move that comma and things change. 

This is my experience for  this last year or so the enemy has been steadily working to keep us on edge.

He hasn’t defeated us but is surely keeping us out of victory lane.

Then like a flood the Spirit of the Lord comes in and the victory is ours.

Thank You Jesus for reminding me that life isn’t always a pointless struggle to survive.  You do own the cattle on a thousand hills.
