So foolish was I, and ignorant: The Fix-it Shop-Filling Station

So foolish was I, and ignorant:
Psalms 73:22

“We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.” – Benjamin Franklin

Were you, at some point, foolish, and ignorant, maybe even stupid?

For most of my life I was.  Then I ran into,  “The foolishness of God:”  A life changing experience.

~  The preaching of the cross:
“The foolishness of God:”
And also, the Power of God.
~  We preach Christ crucified:
“The foolishness of God:”
A stumbling block to some, foolishness to others.
~  The foolishness of preaching:
“The foolishness of God:”
Is the Wisdom of God, to save them that believe.

1 Corinthians 1:25
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

The problem is not intelectual ignorance, but eyes that cannot see, ears that cannot hear, a mind that cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

We did not come into the saving knowledge of Christ until our Spiritual eyes were opened.
Once they were, we then knew to accept Christ as Lord and Savior.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;

It took quite a while for me to understand that the lost I so longed to see saved,  had absolutly no interest in anything to do with God.

I had to learn it was my job to inform, the Spirits to transform.

Which once again brings me to today:

“So foolish was I, and ignorant:”

I quite foolishly thought that once the Spiritual eyes had been opened, and Jesus accepted,  that people would hunger and thirst for more.

Instead I find even more resistance:

Jeremiah 5:21
Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:”

So heart breaking;  People who have a taste, but refuse the fulfillment of the promise.

They reject the very tools the Lord sent to increase His kingdom.  The Talents, the Gifts of the Spirit.

Galatians 3:3
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

The simple answervis yes, yes, yes a hundred times yes.  I hear:

If God wanted me to speak in tongues He would have given it to me.”

“It’s not right to ask God to give me the Gifts of healing….  Wouldn’t I be taking too much on myself?”

How about:  “But covet earnestly the best gifts:”

He doesn’t tell us which is the best?”

How about the one you need right now, today.

If you are sick, you need to be healed, broke, a miracle, dying, the gift of faith. Sometimes just a Word of wisdom or knowledge.

He gave you a brain, use it.

We need to pray our churches have a Spiritual Awakening.  We need to see our:”So foolish was I, and ignorant:”  Replaced with:  “The foolishness of God:”

We need to inform, and pray that the Spirit will Transform.

  1. Amen! And Amen! I have to remind myself that I too was once foolish. I CAN NEVER FIRGET THAT OR SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS SETS IS 😦 If it had not of been for a special person The Lord placed in my life under special circumstances that showed her faith (didn’t just talk it) I would be dead from suicide. So I am learning each new day to walk WITH God and to profess Him when need be even if I get scoffed at. The Lord has given me seeds to plant good fruit with. He WILL send some one along to water. he will grow those seeds if they have dropped on fertile ground! He is good like that! Thank you for the words The Lord has inspired you through his Holy Spirit to share! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!! HIS SHEEP NEED FED!
