these signs shall follow them that believe; (Really?) 2

Signs that should be following you, me and everyone else who believes that Jesus Christ is Lord:

  • We should cast out devils
  • Lay hands on the sick and they shall recover
  • Speak with new tongues
  • Take up serpents
  • Drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them

Wow, what a list….since I’ve been saved. I speak with new tongues,  I have laid hands on the sick….most have recovered….some have gone on to the Lord.   I’m sure I’ve cast out devils although I still fight the personal serpent in my life.  (Lust of flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life).   I try to avoid deadly things to drink.

I am sorry but I do not believe that these meager results are what the Lord had in mind for His people. I firmly believe that God has left us the Gifts of the Spirit and we haven’t  figured out or understand what to do with the one or more that He has left us.

The Lord did signs and wonders to free His people from bondage in Egypt:

So people would see and know, consider and understand and believe that God is and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

I don’t believe He has changed….

He needs a willing vessel,

He will use whosoever will.

Will you be that vessel?

We need to

◆ seek God

◆ love God

◆ be obedient to God

◆ Praise God

◆ Worship God

◆ learn to be Holy

◆ believe Gods promises

◆ share the Gospel

◆ act on His promises

The problem is always us….we need to climb on to the Fathers lap and just love and obey Him. Lord help me not just to be crucified but to bury the old man, so you might use the new man. Amen

  1. The President of the Minneapolis Chapter of the Business Men’s Fellowship has been wrestling with this for some time. He and I have had several discussions on this topic. We see signs and wonders occasionally, but not to the extent that we feel the Lord desires. I will be sharing some of these blogs with him. Keep it up!
