O Lord: my spirit faileth: theunfetteredpreacher

Psalm 143:7-8
Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.”

My sister would be 73 or 74 this month if still alive, my brother a year younger, in October if he was living.

Dad’s Been gone for a long time, (25+ years),  Mom for several years.

I do have a niece,  married with a lovely young daughter.  They live 12 hours away.   They work hard and I pray they prosper.  (Also that they would love the Lord).

As for me:

Lord, cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.”

Death, Destruction, Depression, Despondency…   are not the way of the Lord.

You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace, the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you, there will be shouts of joy and the trees of the field will clap their hands.”

That is the way I  must go, singing….

“Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me,”

Lord, give me wisdom and grace.  That I might continue this race.  Reaching forth to the high calling of Your Love.

Lord, give me strength and the will.  A clear mind to know You and Your ways for my life.

Help me Jesus, to overcome.   For I trust, rely on and believe Your promise.

Cause me to know Your loving kindness.
  Amen

He could do no mighty work: theunfetteredpreacher

Jesus came to His home town, the place He grew up, where people knew Him and His family, from His youth.    It’s a sad commentary.

Mark 6

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

And he marvelled because of their unbelief.

He finds the same problem when He enters His Church today.

He marvels because of our unbelief,  and can do no mighty work, save healing a few sick people. “

Saints, we have a problem.   We have forgotten how to believe.   We see no mighty works, we marvel when He heals a few sick people.

He left His home town.   “And he went round about the villages, teaching.”

What and how did He teach?   He taught His Disciples and all who would receive.

Saints, He has left our places of Traditions, and Rituals and is out and about, finding “whosoever will believe.

Matthew 9:35
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”

Healing the sick, was a part of His teaching, He healed all who asked and some who didn’t.  He sent out His twelve.

And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; And they went out, and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

We have a lot of Preachers,  they speak marvelous words, tell exciting stories, and wondrous tales… they gather the hungry and feed them fluff.

The Church grows weaker in strength, they “do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”

We need to teach the Gospel of the kingdom.   God with us…  Available and Able to meet our needs.

Physical,  Emotional, Financial, our God is the one who supplies exceedingly above all we ask, think or even image.

Quit making excuses when you pray for the sick.   Only believe,  Trust and Rely on His promises.

Believe His Word and walk away.   It is His (the Holy Spirits), job to preform,  not yours.

Learn to pray His Word, learn to submit yourself to God, learn to fast whatever comes between you and the Lord.

Seek His face, Seek His power, know His will and walk in it.

Amen

The land, is not as the land of Egypt: theunfetteredpreacher

Deuteronomy 11:10
King James Version (KJV)
For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out:”

The Land, the Promised Land, is not like the land of Egypt. We are no longer in bondage, in slavery, to a ruler, to work at his pleasure.

Saints, this is a truth we need to understand.

We have a new King.  We are no longer building earthly monuments.

We are to build a Spiritual Kingdom.

As Christians, we entered the promised land, just as the Hebrews did.  (Hopefully it didn’t take us 40 years to reach it.  Although, I was close to 30).

The Promised Land today is the Kingdom of God.   It has different rules and regulations than the World we are used to.

Mark 1:15
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

If we believe the Gospel,  then we live in this new world.  The Kingdom of God.

Mark 4:30-32
King James Version (KJV)
And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.”

It is bigger than anything we can imagine, but we are the vessels the Lord is using to build it.

We must suspend, our carnel beliefs, ideas and ways, and lift up our eyes to where our help resides.  Open our hearts and minds to His will and ways.

Mark 10:15
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”

We must attain a child like faith, accept the Word of God as truth, Speak it, Believe it, Watch it come to pass, as we Walk in it.

Luke 9:11
And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.”

We need to quit worrying about what to eat or drink, put our carnel needs and desires aside,  and concern ourselves with His Will and Plan.

Luke 12:31
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Luke 10:9
And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.”

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

1 Corinthians 4:20
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”

We have entered the place that  the Lord will give to “whosoever,”  whatsoever is needed to fulfil His will and work.

We cannot do His will and work effectively,  if we do not accept all He has given us to work with.

We cannot begin in the Spirit, getting Saved, called to His Work, and expect His results, when we walk and work in our own power.

We must believe, and allow the Holy Spirit to rule and reign in our hearts.

We must allow ourselves to become Holy Spirit dispensers…  Allow the Lord to flow through us in Power, to save the lost, heal the sick and comfort the brokenhearted.    Amen

Especially for those….  who lack power…

Nevertheless: theunfetteredpreacher

Numbers 14:44
But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

God had told them to enter the promised land.  They would defeat the inhabitants,  and inherit the land.

They  wouldn’t, so the Lord told them they would wonder in the wilderness one year for every day, the promised land had been searched.

The Lord said:
Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:”

The original generation of the Exodus, would die in the desert, never entering the promise.

Originally they had been promised the victory over the inhabitants of the land.

When they refused to enter as the Lord commanded, He told them not to go.

After realizing their error,  they  decided  better late then never, and went to battle  anyway.

The Lord did not go with them. They were beaten badly.

When we ignore the Lords command, do not presume it would work just as well later.

We must follow Gods plan, in Gods time, to see Gods results.

Nevertheless… As you go forward in the faith…

Is God going with you?

What is your hearts condition?  theunfetteredpreacher

Is your heart cold, unfeeling, unbelieving,  full of doubt,  confusion, hate and lies?

Or are you content,  fat, dumb and happy. Just rolling along, taking on life as it comes?

Maybe you hunger and thirst for righteousness,  for more power, more grace, mercy, more comfort, more of the Lord, active and working in your life.

I pray it is the latter.

Numbers 25:11
Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.”

This is the first mention of Zeal in the Word.  The people had sinned.  The Lord put a plague on the people killing 24,000.

When Phinehas grabbed a spear and ran through the bold offenders, and ended the reign  of death.  Gods responce?

I give unto him my covenant of peace:”

Do you desire peace in your life, the comfort and joy of the Holy Ghost?    The prosperity of spirit, mind and body?

Light a fire in your life, by reading and obeying the Word of God.  Seeking first the Kingdom and His Righteousness.

All these things will be added unto you.  A promise from God.  As we spend time with the Lord, fire is lit in our hearts.

Luke 24:32
King James Version (KJV)
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?”

If sin rules and reigns in our life, death, (spiritual), soon follows.

Matthew 24:12
King James Version (KJV)
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

Fat, dumb and happy?

Revelation 3:16
King James Version (KJV)
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

I pray you are Zealous for the Lord.  Amen

O ye simple, understand wisdom:  theunfetteredpreacher

O ye simple, understand wisdom:  and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.” Proverbs 8:5

How often have we heard, “It’s not that simple.”

Usually from people trying to make a decision, one way is hard, but right.  The other is easy, but sleazy.

Or, “It’s complicated.”  When it really isn’t.

We put up straw men, (: a weak or imaginary argument or opponent that is set up to be easily defeated),  when it is something we know we should do, “but don’t wanna.

That’s not really the point.  He is talking to all of us, who would rather stand on tradition, Church Doctrine, or our own understanding, then the Word of God.

O ye simple, understand wisdom:  and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

The first mention of Wisdom in the Bible, tells us Godly Wisdom is a Spirit.

Exodus 28:3
And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.”

Godly Wisdom is given for a specific task. In this case, to make the sanctified, (set apart for God’s service), garments for the High Priest.   Only to be used,  while ministering to the Lord.

Individuals also received the Spirit of Wisdom for the building of the Lords Tabernacle or Home, in the desert.

We see in the New Testament the Spiritual Gifts include a Word of Wisdom and a Word of Knowledge.

Both are things we could not know or understand  in our Natural Man.  They are given to us for the building of His Church,  His Body for the work of the Gospel.

The Word of Knowledge is best shown in the life of Jesus.

He saw Phillip under the fig tree, (before being introduced), He saw the Desciples, in the midst of a storm in the sea, (before walking on water out to them).

Or with Rahab the harlet, when she told the spies to return another way.  She knew if they didn’t, they would be captured.

A Word of Wisdom,  tells us how to accomplish a certain task.  Like building Gods Church.  Or a certain path or way to proceed  to avoid difficulty.

O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.”

Our problems arise when we use the Wisdom of our Natual Man.

We use Man’s wisdom all the time.

Webster says Wisdom is:

: knowledge that is gained by having many experiences in life
: the natural ability to understand things that most other people cannot understand

: knowledge of what is proper or reasonable : good sense or judgement.

That is Man’s wisdom, we need it, and we should seek it, but do not expect it to line up with the Wisdom of God, or use it for the Work of the Gospel.

Isaiah 55:8
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

We need to seek out “Godly Wisdom.

A fair amount of our Churches are barely hanging on, attendance,  tithes and giving are barely making expenses.

Our Natural Man tries Special Services,  Home Coming, a movie and a meal, all to no avail.

To increase attendance,  we must have a wonderful, engaging speaker, (that’s probably not you or I).  Or the Spirit of God.  We need the Spirit of God to grow His Church.

The Spirit of God,  cannot be found in our Rituals, Traditions or Church Doctrines.  The Bible is clear.

John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

What does this mean?    We need to learn to sit at His feet.  To learn to hear Him.   To enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts and His courts with Praise.

Sounds like an old song, doesn’t it?  It is and it is the Word of God.  (Psalm 100).

Our Sunday Services are so structured there is no room for the Holy Spirit to appear. We invite, then deny Him entrance.

We don’t wait on the Lord,  we expect a microwave experience.  Set for 30 seconds then enjoy.

Like a woman,  the Holy Spirit needs to be romanced.  We must learn true Praise.  Not just the Doxology, but a lifting of our voices, our hearts, a clearing of our minds of all but expecting an in counter with God.

That in turn needs to morph into Worship. A bowing down of our will to Him.  Allowing Him to truly reign in our hearts.

James 1:5

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

If we would allow Him, He would teach us the way to the Holy of Holies.  We can and must learn how to enter boldly, to find the grace and mercy we need.

1 Corinthians  2:5

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

The Church needs the POWER OF GOD.  If it wants to be the place where the Lord resides and the multitudes gather to learn His ways.

Open our eyes and hearts to welcome Your Spirit into our Services.   Amen

For all this they sinned still:  the unfetteredpreacher

Psalm: 78. 32.

For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.”

The psalmist had been speaking of all the miracles of the Exodus.  How they had seen the mighty hand of God, yet not believed to enter the promise land.

The Church today has the same problem.   We see and recognize the miracle of Salvation, but sin still, the sin of unbelief.

It is a plague in our midst.  We want to believe, God is still the Almighty, the Creator and Ruler of all.

Yet, we do not see the signs and wonders, the miraculous things of the Bible.  Why?

Most of us are content, we know we are saved, we tithe, give to the poor, go to Church at least Sunday mornings.   We serve the Lord.

Like the Hebrews in the desert.  “Moses, you speak with God and let us know what He wants.”

Unfortunately,  even the Church leadership believe the Lord is now silent, He has written the Book, it is enough.  The miraculous died out with the Apostles.

“Just hold on till we get to heaven.  That is all we can do, it is enough.”

It is not enough.

We need to touch the hem of His garment.   We need to come boldly to the throne of grace, to receive mercy and grace in our time of need.

We need to be dissatisfied!

We need to dig into the Word of God, learn to walk in it’s truth.  Know the scriptures,  deny not the power of God, but seek Him, His will,  His power and might.

He is the God that heals, comforts, sets free, even raises the dead.

We need to be dissatisfied,  if our prayers are not answered, we need to be dissatisfied,  when we are in want.

The Lord is my Shepard; I  shall not want.”

We need to set our face like flint, to seek the Lord.  Not just for the warm fuzzies of knowing we are His, but to come to the place of employment.

Where the Lord, uses us to fulfill His will.

He healed all that were afflicted, He desires that all would come to a saving knowledge of Him.   He wants the world to wake up, look up and believe.

Isaiah: 41. 20.

That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.”
How will they believe,  when we scarcely believe, ourselves.

The power to heal the sick, even raise the dead is available,  to whosoever will press in to the  Holy of Holies, to receive it.

Matthew 11:12
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”

We must be willing to fight, the devil,  our contentment,  our sloth, our unbelief, our satisfaction of who and where we are.

We must “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Allow the Holy Spirit to work the will of God in our lifes.  Become a dispenser of His love and grace.

These things and more shall you do. (John 14).

FEAR NOT, ONLY BELIEVE….

And God shall wipe away all tears

A quick and interesting look.

The Book of Revelation tends to scare people. Many think of it in terms of end times, destruction, of horrible beasts, unsightly events and of personal tragedy. But the Book of Revelation is a book about overcoming. It written to encourage all to overcome the lust and sin of this world. Jesus makes this point clear in the second and third chapters of Revelation when He addresses each of the seven churches by saying, “to he/him that overcometh” and then lists off the benefits to be gained for those that do.

To overcome this world requires patience, a lifetime of patience and endurance. This patience and endurance is generated and sustained by our absolute faith in Jesus Christ.

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12).

The “patience of the saints”, the time spent in this body, in this world of woe, in complete faith and confidence of the promise to come. And what is the final outcome to those who do endure, who do keep the commandments and who keep the faith in Jesus Christ?

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away….He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” (Revelation 21:4, 7).

A lifetime of conflict and struggle with this world, of overcoming, of keeping God’s commandments and refusing “that great city” Babylon that, “made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication” (Revelations 14:8).

Staying out of darkness, in the light and continuously pressing, “toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).

The end of the Book of Revelation, the end for all those that overcome the world, God will “wipe away all tears” and there will be no more death, crying or pain. The end of Revelation reverts back to how it was in the beginning of Genesis. We will walk with God (Genesis 3:8/Revelation 21:24). There will be a “pure river of water, of life” (Genesis 2:10/Revelation 22:1), there will be the “tree of life” (Genesis 2:9/Revelation 22:2) and there will be no more “curse” (Genesis 4:14-15/Revelation 22:3) of the devil and sin.

The Book of Revelation is about overcoming. The end result for those that do is an eternity in the presence of God. Fully in his presence and light, complete in righteousness and eternal life!

Remember, and forget not:  theunfetteredpreacher

Remember, and forget not:”

Remember the times we have cherished.  The times we have triumphed.  The times we have  failed and floundered, tossed to and fro by the wicked trials of life.

Remember, and forget not:”

This is good advice.

That from the day the Lord brought you out of darkness and into His marvelous light, we need to:

Remember, and forget not:”    Remember what?

How often have we  provoked, disappointed the Lord?  How often have we disregarded His will and ways? How often have we  gone our own way?

We all like sheep, and gone astry, we have all gone are own way.”

Our will, our way, now, today…

Deuteronomy: 9:7

Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.”

They had manna, the Lords provision. Their clothes and shoes didn’t wear out.  All their needs were met daily.

Yet, they, “have been rebellious against the LORD.

That my friend appears to be the state of both the Natural and the Redeemed man.   Sad isn’t it?

The Lord has promised;  “He is our Shepard, we shall not want.”   Are we satisfied?

No, we always want more.  How about you?

I long for more.  I long to be Holy, set apart, used of the Lord. I long to make a difference in the lives of the people I meet.

That they would experience Jesus, that they would be healed, body, soul and spirit.  That they would recognize the God of Power and Love.

I long to forget, the struggle to pay bills, to make ends meet, to satisfy my needs and wants.

Remember, and forget not:”

How often has repentance, turning back to God, being forgiven by God, been the theme of my life?

Why Lord, do You remember my sin no more?  How is it You died for me?  How Lord, do I ever love You enough, serve You in truth.  How do I become the man You desire me to be?

To obey, is better than sacrifice.

Lord, lead me on the road of righteouness.  May I walk with You, everyday of my life.  May You find me a “useful vessel,” of Your will.

Lord, forgive and use me please.

Amen

The bricks of our Faith:  theunfetteredpreacher

We can and should learn some lessons from the Old Testament.  A light bulb turned on for me, this morning, concerning bricks.

The first mention of bricks in the Bible is in Genisis 11:3,6

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”

The building of the tower of  Babel, they had the tools, the materials, the skills, one language and unity of purpose.

To reach heaven.”   Nothing could stop them, they could do anything they image.

Until the Lord stepped in.

The next mention is in Exodus 1:14:

And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.”

The Hebrews, 400 years after Joseph saved the land from drought, a new king, had put them into slavery.

Moses, sent by God, came to set them free, we see the Pharaohs immediate response.

Exodus 5:7

Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.”

This was a major problem,  making bricks was hard work and time consuming already.

I think I found this at Eastons Bible dictionary, long ago… If from somewhere else, I apologise, for the lack of mention.

Their efforts produced great results, and although time-consuming, their procedures can be followed to create mudbricks of your own:

1. Mix topsoil and water to create a thick mud.

2. Add straw. While the composition of the mud will affect the exact proportions, as a general rule, add a half pound of straw for every cubic foot of mud mixture. If you have access to grain chaff (a byproduct of threshing), you can use that as temper. If not, chop straw into very small pieces—called straw chaff—and use that.

3. Knead the mud mixture with your bare feet for four days.

4. Once it has fermented (after four days of kneading), leave the mixture alone for a few days.

5. Knead the mixture again on the day you plan to form your mudbricks.

6. Pour the mud mixture into molds (the shape of your choosing) and let them solidify in the molds for at least 20 minutes.

7. Remove from molds and deposit on a drying floor layered with sand and straw to prevent the bricks from sticking to the floor itself.

8. Let the bricks dry for a week.

After the bricks have dried, they are ready to be used—whether to build something new or to reconstruct ancient walls!

Exodus 5:14

And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?

Exodus 5:19

And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.”

So tell me, how or what are the bricks of our Faith?

Look again, at the first mention.

One language

One purpose

The materials

The Skills

We could have all these things if we would just do that which the Lord requires.

Skills, the Holy Spirit will lead, guide and direct us to all truth, He will teach us, comfort and dwell within us.

John 14:17

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

Materials, “My God shall supply all my need, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Purpose, leading the lost to Christ.  Building His Church.

Language:

Jude 1:20  “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

1 Corinthians 14:2

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”

Romans 8:26-27

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
When we reject the Gifts of the Spirit, as not being for today, or God didn’t give them to me, we are not using the Straw the Lord supplies for the building of His Church.

Please, take off your Denominational glasses, read the Word anew, ask the Holy Spirit to teach you.

It is hard work making bricks, (building His Church), wirhout the Straw of the Holy Spirit, it only leaves rigour, bitterness and failure.

Allow  the Lord to equip you for His service, Speaking in Tongues is the One Language…  Gods language.

Lord, help us to build Your Church.  Lord, teach us to PRAY.   Amen
