The Relationship We Choose: theunfetteredpreacher

The other night at Bible Study, I mentioned how we must give up all, to follow Christ.

It was like I had two heads… lol

I am not sure how to explain this.

It seems in some Denominations, we have taught people how to be saved. We must, Believe in and Confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.

That’s it, you’re all done, get in line for heaven, and in truth, that is all. That is all that is expected and required of our Walk with the Lord.

Until, you dig a little deaper. He calls us to be faithful and wise stewards.

Matthew 13: 44-46

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Have we given up, all we had, to follow Him? All our sins, desires, plans, expectations?

Have we given Him all?

Luke 5:27-29

And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.

And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

Philippians 3:8

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

‘You can have the relationship you want with God. I want a more intimate one.’ Amen

Thanks for visiting, come back soon.
Know, you are loved.
