God reveals His truths to any and all who will recognize and accept them.

This is a Scriptures I hold dear, realizing there is much more to learn.

Deuteronomy 29:29 (KJV)
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

David Jones, who was the Pastor of the UMC, (where I play piano), speaking under the Anointing of God, (in passing), pointed out, that the first thing man had to learn, was to rest in God.

REALLY? Is that true?

I had a decision to make, see if this were true, or to try and prove him wrong.

A lot of people are in the camp to prove anything that is not what they have been taught, wrong.

I have, and I am glad to say, usually do, fall into the, is that right?, camp, and I search the Scriptures to see if it is true.

This is true.

The first thing man had to learn, (and we are still learning), is to enter into God’s REST. Why do I say still learning?

Hebrews 4:9-11

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”

To Rest, to observe the Sabbath, the day God rested from creating the heavens and the earth.

In the time of Jesus, the Religious wanted to put Jesus to death, for working, (healing, comforting, doing good), on the Sabbath.

He explained, to save an animal, that had fallen into a ditch, wasn’t work, it was both, a good and needful thing.

Healing, casting out devils, causing the blind to see, the lame to walk, were all good things, and should be done as needed. (Are we doing this?)

On the sabbath, we are not to labor for riches.

Do I believe we must keep the Sabbath?

Yes, but not necessarily on Saturday or Sunday, if our job requires us to work those days .

It is important to find a day, to Rest, and Worship, to Fellowship with God and other like minded people.

Let us look at the word rest.

Noah, means rest. (Eastons Bible Dictionary,

Rest. (1.) Gr. katapausis, equivalent to the Hebrew word _noah_ (Heb. 4:1).)

Genesis 5:28-29

“And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:

And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.”

Lamech hoped Noah would give them comfort and Rest.

Noah at 500 years old built the Ark, finding rest in doing Gods work. Peter called him a Preacher of Righteousness.

The Lord told him as he entered the Ark, that he was a righteous man, among all on earth. This Righteousness, (simply believing and doing God’s will), would save him and his family, by it he found Grace, in the eyes of the Lord.

The Hebrews that had experienced all the Lords miracles and the plagues, fell short of the mark.

They had an evil heart of unbelief. For questioning the Lords word, when told to enter into the land of promise, and that they would defeat the giants.

Saints, we must learn to enter into His Rest. We must put on His Yoke and walk with Him.

Lord, help me to find and understand Your Truth. Amen
