The Fix-it Shop – more Walking with God

The Old Testament has a great many who walked before or after the Lord, some even walked in the ways of the Lord.

These include Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, David, Solomon. Hezekiah, Moses, Joshua ect….Righteous men, walking in obedience to the Lord.

Isaiah 30:21
King James Version (KJV)
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Only two are mentIned by name who walked with God :

Genesis 5:21-23
King James Version (KJV)
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:

22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

We know from the book of Hebrews that Enoch pleased God because he believed God is and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

The book of Jude tells us he was a preacher of righteousness and prophesied the second coming of Christ.

Then we have Noah:

Genesis 6:8-9
King James Version (KJV)
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord because he was just and perfect,  he was just and perfect because he walked with God.

Again in Hebrews we find Noah, fears God, builds the Ark, saves his family, becomes the heir of righteousness.

What is the difference in walking before, after or in the ways of the Lord and walking with God?

All on who walked before, after or in the ways of the Lord were Warriors for the Lord.  They all were righteous men who shed blood to see the Lords will done.

Neither Enoch or Noah shed blood, both were preachers of righteousness.

The Lord demands the blood, Jesus supplied it for those who walk with Him, (God).  We find the Lord pleased.

We are called today to walk with Jesus, to walk in the light, to walk in the Spirit, to walk in Wisdom towards them that are without, to walk in truth.

In Philippians we find:

Philippians 4:3
King James Version (KJV)
3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

True yoke fellows, those that labor in the gospel.   How should we labor in the gospel?   Do we know what the gospel is?

The gospel or good news is the information that we can walk with God.  It’s called the gospel of the Kingdom, gospel of God, of Christ, of peace.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

In the days of the Apostles the gospel had power, people were saved, healed,  changed, today,  people are under welled.   No power, just noise.

Just noise from me also, I’m ashamed to say.

We must be trustworthy, for the Lord to heal through us, not become prideful, holier then thou.  We must learn to humble ourselves.

Lord, please help us to serve you, humbly,  obediently,  powerfully. ….help me Lord to put on Your Yoke, help me to walk with You.
