Or just useless.

Warning:  A not so subtle message for Christians.

I know I am a Christian because:

  • I was born in America
  •   baptised and raised in church
  • The good I do, out ways the bad
  • I don’t drink, smoke or chew, or run with women that do.

If this is you?  You are not a Christian, or useless.   You are just like a multitude of church people who want to serve the Lord but do not fully understand Him.

Today I realize we only know what we have learned in church or have  found in the Word ourselves.  Then  some churches discourage the reading of the Bible, in the fear you might get confused.

If you haven’t met the author,  the Bible seems foolish to you, it is impossible to understand.   You may have your Doctrinal glasses on when you need Spiritual glasses.  We need to know the author.

How to met the author,  ask, seek and knock.

  • Out loud, ask Jesus to forgive you.

  •  Seek Him,  ask Him into your life.

  • Knock,   Knock on the doors of the Bible,  the books open up to show you different truths of God.   The spoken word, rings true.

  • introduce someone else to Jesus,  find a church family that is seeking God.

Some books will keep the history buff interested and bore me to tears,  others may keep a lawyer up all night enjoying the statutes, commands and laws.  (Help me Lord?)

For me I love the human stories, Moses, David, Ruth…..The Acts of the apostles,   The stories of Jesus.   There is only one right way to Seek God

Psalm 27:8

King James Version (KJV)

8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

Check what you learn, with what is in the word.    You need a good Bible,  that you can understand and a good concordance to help you look up things.     You need to delve into the Word and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort you.   You need good, Christian people to interact with,  question and argue the truths you find, till they are yours.

Do not expect any one church or person to know or be  the all and end all.   The problems with churches are people.    God love um, people.    Seek God and His Spirit will help you in your walk,  people will always disappoint.   We still need them and love them.

Then you will be a useful vessel.
