Why do you believe in Salvation?

Romans 10:9

King James Version (KJV)

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

This Scripture is the cornerstone of our Salvation. We believe Jesus was a virgin born, God/man, who lived a sinless life.  Died on a cross for our sins, buried and three days later rose from the dead.  Is in heaven now at the right hand of the Father. Through Jesus the Father finds us guiltless and sons of God.

It is no wonder the non-believers think we have a few screws loose.  After all didn’t Paul himself tell us this is foolishness to the natural man, that it needed to be Spirituality discerned?

Yet here we stand as Christians believing the impossible, trying with an inadequate vocabulary to explain the unexplainable.   No wonder our results are puny.

We know it is the truth….the problem is introducing people to a living God…not dead words.  Our Lord certainly taught in the local synagogue, but that wasn’t where He had the most impact.

We preach and teach Jesus in our local churches, call revivals…prayer meetings and bizarres…and expect people to come running to Jesus.  I guess if you are the one truly exceptional speaker, (Billy Graham comes to mind), you might see results.  Here’s a tip, you probably do not have his anointing. Why don’t you find your own anointing.

We all think we are fabulous speakers, keeping the multitudes enthralled. ..mostly we are blessed to keep the faithful awake.  Blasphemy you say….get real, open your eyes.  Does it matter if you have 20 or 200 people in your flock if relatively nothing is getting done for the Lord?  ( Thanks Pastor Hopkins)  Are multitudes being added to the church daily?

Whose fault is that?

Is God a liar?

No as men and women of God it is time to repent, turn to God and ask the Holy Spirit what to do.  I believe that the answer we are looking for is right in front of us…accessible to whosoever will.   Is that you?  Is it even me?

As we look at the life of Jesus and His disciples,  we  find no  church buildings,  no pulpits,  baptismal,  family life center. …children’s church. …What we do see is the Power of God. ..That is what we need today.

I hear you….we know that….how do we find it?   Who do I think I am?  A failed preacher, no longer with credentials. ..a piano player in a church I’m not even a member of.

Some nerve.

Yep,  I guess I should be ashamed to show my face. ..I did let the devil defeat me, come close to destroying me…but Christ in me arose. Has said simply if you would do things My way, you would see My results.

We need to believe in more than salvation. We need to reach up on the shelf that the Gifts of the Spirit are on, ask The Holy Spirit to guide us in their use.  I believe the Gifts and Ministries of the Spirit, are the talents the Master left for us….dividing to every man severally as he will, to every man according to his several ability;

I’ve heard people who  know and love the Lord say you’re not going to turn me into a Pentecostal. …Like believing in the Gifts was ungodly.  How can you truly believe in Salvation and not believe the rest of Jesus s promises?  Do you really think that which is perfect is here, now?   When Jesus returns….that is when these things will no longer be needed.

They are needed now more than ever.

I believe that Isaiah 41 :

20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

The reason God did miracles for Egypt to see, the reason Jesus and His followers did miracles. …the reason He told us that these signs shall follow those who believe is this:

We need and should be seeing the miracles of God daily. ..and multitudes added to His Church.  Not a building or denomination but to Him.  Get rid of your denominational glasses, re-read the word.  It is truth, it is real, it is for today.

If we look at the list of the Gifts of the Spirit. ..the order they are given gives us a clue to their use.  Our first job is to listen and learn.

First we have Word of Wisdom. …then the Word of Knowledge.

I find this interesting,  in Genesis we find the tree of knowledge of good and evil….mans fall from grace….we do not find wisdom mentioned untill the building of the Tabernacle in the desert.

Wisdom is first with the Gifts. ..we need wisdom in all our endeavors,  God reminds us by putting it in first place. A Word of Godly Wisdom will give us the attitude and strength to push on building His Kingdom.

Then is the Word of Knowledge. ..to know something we have no natural reason to know….that is a power/gift that causes folks to pay attention. ..certainly would help in building the Kingdom.

Gift of Faith:  Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Did you ever notice. ..Jesus went to some and healed them, others He would  ignore till they came to Him. Paul saw, perceived that a man had faith to be healed. When it was counted as righteousness to Abram,  it wasn’t belief in God…but His promise.

We gladly believe the promise of Salvation. ..why not the promise of the Gifts. …
